The humanoid monsters emitted ear-piercing cries as they charged in waves.
Wu Chi glanced at the two defensive towers:
The [Flame Burst Tower], a standard elemental tower, resembled a mage’s tower with a prismatic floating flame stone at its apex.
Etched into the stone was the rune for “Flame Burst”!
The [Stink Bomb Tower], on the other hand, seemed normal at first glance—until one noticed the humanoid statue atop it. The statue, sculpted in Wu Chi’s likeness, was bent over with its rear pointed outward.
The sheer absurdity made Wu Chi grimace every time he saw it.
“Seriously, I feel like tearing it down…” he muttered under his breath.
Admittedly, his knowledge was limited, but such bizarre defensive towers were exceedingly rare.
“Enough, focus on the enemies!”
Shaking off his irritation, Wu Chi observed the approaching monsters. Their speed was remarkable, and they quickly closed the gap to 100 metres—a favourable range for action!
The [Flame Burst Tower] could attack targets up to 500 metres away, while the [Stink Bomb Tower] was effective at a range of 200 metres. However, closer proximity ensured greater accuracy.
When the monsters reached the 100-metre mark, Wu Chi issued his command.
The next moment, the humanoid statue atop the [Stink Bomb Tower] quivered violently, releasing a green cloud of gas that engulfed the twenty-odd monsters.
“Pffft—!”
The loud sound of flatulence accompanied the colourful mist.
Wu Chi’s expression froze.
Especially when he glanced at the “Wu Chi” statue atop the tower.
Suppressing his embarrassment, he refocused on the battlefield.
In the distance, the monsters caught within the “Weakening Stink Bomb” stumbled about, their fierce momentum abruptly dissipated. They collapsed, their limbs rendered feeble and ineffective.
The results were astonishing!
Wu Chi was taken aback. His textbooks had described typical “weakening” spells as merely reducing attack power or slightly slowing enemies. This outcome suggested one possibility:
The “Weakening Stink Bomb” was an exceptionally high-quality spell!
“Flame Burst, fire!”
Wu Chi promptly issued another command. The prismatic flame stone atop the [Flame Burst Tower] lit up, radiating brilliant light.
Seconds later, an enormous fireball, at least ten times larger than the one cast by yesterday’s Fallen Demon Sorcerer, formed and launched.
Boom!
The fireball tore through the air, leaving a blazing trail before crashing into the cluster of monsters.
Bang!!!
The ground trembled. Flames roared, and the deafening explosion echoed in all directions.
In an instant, the entire horde of monsters was consumed by the inferno, annihilated without a trace.
“Battle Complete!”

Wu Chi exhaled in relief—the day’s battle was over.
He vaulted over the fence and approached the battlefield.
By now, the corpses of the Dark Hunters had disintegrated into ashes, leaving behind 27 “Dark Hunter Loot Chests.”
Collecting them one by one, Wu Chi opened them all.
“Loot: 1 Void Crystal.”
“Loot: 1 Void Crystal.”
“Loot: 3 Void Crystals.”
“Loot: 1 Void Crystal, 1 Void Source Stone.”
“Where’s my luck gone?”
Wu Chi felt slightly disappointed. Compared to yesterday, his luck with the loot was evidently lacking. Out of 39 Void Crystals obtained, only one chest yielded a Void Source Stone.
“Hopefully, tomorrow will bring more monsters.”
With a shrug, Wu Chi returned to his territory.
Upon arrival, he noticed Lin Daiyu was already awake. Her hair was elegantly styled, held in place by a pearl jade hairpin, exuding a graceful and delicate charm.
“Did I wake you?” Wu Chi approached her.
Lin Daiyu shook her head.
“I sensed the monster invasion and got up.”
“Ah, of course. Your physique is at 200 points!” Wu Chi realised, then quickly retrieved a set of toiletries from his inventory.
“There aren’t any extraordinary items or spells in the territory yet, so please make do with these for now.”
“No problem.” Lin Daiyu accepted the items, her lithe figure moving gracefully away.
Wu Chi clicked his tongue appreciatively before turning his attention to the newly obtained buildings.
The rewards included three practical territory structures.
“Great, we’ve got a toilet now!”
Wu Chi chuckled. The lack of sanitation facilities had been a common problem for rookie lords.
Due to the constraints of the “Rookie Trial,” most wouldn’t prioritise building a [Toilet]. As a workaround, they would discreetly resolve such needs outside the territory.
With a functioning [Toilet], Wu Chi no longer faced such indignities.
Surveying the territory, he hesitated.
The 200-square-metre area was becoming cramped. Adding three new structures seemed impractical.
“Time to upgrade the territory!”
Opening the [Territory] panel, Wu Chi examined his inventory, where 47 Void Source Stones awaited use.
