Uncharted Affections

"Let us in, if you wish for no commotion..."

"I'm sorry, Governor... But..."

"You know who I am. You even call me Governor. So, you understand the power that I hold..." said Sun An. Asura calmly stood behind him, as he watched the man pressed against the guard.

"I'm sorry, but I only did what I've been told to. No one can enter the investigation room, until the investigation ends," said the guard.

Asura squinted his eyes. He pushed Sun An softly aside, as he leaned closer to the guard.

"Is that so?" he asked the guard, half growling at him. "If the paperwork hasn't been done, the interrogation shouldn't be conduct as well. Am I right?" Asura pierced his deep gaze at the guard.

"I know nothing about it!" the guard's voice slowly turned rattle. "There's no interrogation happened by now!"

"Saving your neck, huh? You think we're stupid?"

"I swear to God, I don't know!"

"I dare you to yell it out loud. Let see if you'll get strike by the lightning!" Asura tried to put a soft pressure at the guard. He's not that rough, but he knows the nature of these people who believe in superstitious.

"Let us see your officer..." Sun An demanded. The guards look at each other, shaken like a fallen leaves. As Asura glanced at him, Sun An was on verge of his anger. He couldn't draw his sword as this was a public office.

But, that didn't mean he could only act polite all the time.

"Or should I just barge in?" Sun An's eyes dart deep into the guard's eyes as he felt a huge wave inside his guts. He knew how vicious these two men, but at the same time, he had no choice but to follow the order from his higher up.

As Sun An was about to force himself in, a lady in a black attire; along with a small group of court maids march towards them. Asura turned his head as he sighed and slowly bow a bit whilst the presence of them visible slowly, clearly at that door.

"Jang Bin..."

The sudden arrival of Miju Seja's favorite concubine made everyone went straight on their feet. Jang Bin gracefully replied the greet with a small nod. Her eyes blink at Sun An, who still had the guard's collar in his grip. The governor slowly released the poor man.

"May I know the needs of your presence here, gentlemen?" Jang Bin asked.

"We want to see the investigation report, at least a coroner's report regarding on the case-"

"I believe, I can't help you two with that. As you can see, the report is still being kept for further action by the royal board. It can't be released to the public as it might cause unwanted speculations that perhaps, might affected the investigation..."

"As we understand, the interrogation shouldn't be taken place without the report," Sun An bluntly revealed the known activity behind the interrogation room.

"Who told you that we're conduct an interrogation?" Jang Bin asked him back. Her poker face was hard to read, even a wise man like Asura couldn't predict the current inside her.

"But the Blue Sapphire arrested Soo Young ssi and her family–"

"We did arrest her for a further information–"

"So, they call it that nowadays..." Asura mustered his strength and bravely shot a point. He just want to see the reaction from Miju's favorite concubine. Just want to see if she's being prick, or she really is clueless about it.

"Manora jaga arrested her in front of me, and it's the only thing that I know. If she's being falsely investigated without the report, I know nothing about it," said Jang Bin. She frowned her brows a bit.

Asura was about to ask for more, but Sun An suddenly stopped him. He drew a faint smile and looked at Jang Bin earnestly.

"If you say so, Jang Bin. I guess, it is what it is. But, I would like to ask a favor from you. If the reports come out, please inform the Red Ruby. It is important to know about it," said Sun An. Asura took a glance at him, still in anger. But, Sun An's gaze giving him an assurance about something.

"Certainly, Governor..."

"And, we would like to meet manora jaga, if it's possible..." Sun An tried to make a small demand, just to try his luck.

"I'm afraid you can't. By now, she's mourning for her husband. As a late wife of seja, she should be stay at the Emerald Dragon, next to jeoha mama," Jang Bin explained in such a careful words.

"Certainly, Jang Bin..." Sun An bowed, presented to the concubine the understanding in her explanation.

Jang Bin bowed, as she left the scene when she felt like her business was done for the moment. Sun An and Asura send her with a sharp corner from their eyes, slowly meeting gaze in the middle.

"Don't you think she's a bit... Pretentious?" asked Sun An to Asura. The man silently grasped the situation. He tried to recall any clues, just in case if he missed something.

"Have you send Taeyang already?" Asura asked Sun An.

"I did. Let's wait for arrival..." Asura's lips crook up a bit. Sun An never disappointed. He always a hundred steps ahead.

Now, they should wait for the next move.

Soo Young's dimmed eyes stare at the empty space in front of her. After a long day, she could held a deep breath. Her life was in stake, but she knew she had to be strong to protect her family and her love ones.

General Kim and Lady Kim were only a few jails away from her. She could heard Lady Kim's silent sobs from her cell, but she's too weak to even asked the old lady to stop. It depended on her father to calm Lady Kim.

If he still had the energy to do that...

Soo Young shut her eyes, tears rolling from her eyes as she remembered how the ruthless officer brutally smacked General Kim with a leash, with his hands both tie up at the pole, just across her. She felt half of her soul flew away from her body. When she plead, she took the blow on herself. Lady Kim's wailing was her weakness at that moment.

She couldn't take it anymore, but she has to. She had no choice.

In the darkness of the four walls, she slowly drifted to sleep as she hoped for the better tomorrow.
