Uchiha's flies : Descendants are Born

Chapter 56: Chapter 56: Four Little Devils in the Root Organization

Although the members of the Root Organization were relatively young, they had undertaken countless strange tasks, both large and small. However, this was the first time they had attended a wedding.

Haruto led the group into the wedding hall.

Standing silently in their formal attire, the Root members kept their expressions neutral as they observed the beautifully dressed brides. Their presence was more akin to a group of stoic bodyguards than wedding guests.

"You can relax and eat whatever you want," Haruto instructed, gesturing toward the banquet tables. "No need to be so stiff. I'll be attending to my wives for a while."

Without waiting for a response, Haruto hurried off to join Retsu and his other bride, leaving the Root members standing rigidly in the corner.

Among the group were four young recruits who had recently joined the Root. Unlike their seasoned counterparts, they had not yet undergone Danzo's infamous final training, which stripped individuals of their emotions and humanity. Consequently, these four still retained a fragment of their original personalities.

The atmosphere, filled with warmth and the delicious aroma of food, made the younger recruits feel out of place. They were drawn to the array of delicacies on the banquet table but dared not move. Their older comrades stood stiffly, and the juniors knew better than to act without permission.

As they stood there, trying to suppress their longing gazes, a cheerful, childlike voice interrupted their thoughts.

"Hey, your outfit looks just like my classmate Aburame Chino. Are you from the Aburame clan?"

The speaker was Sasuke, happily munching on a tomato rice ball.

"Yes, I am," the bespectacled boy from the Root replied flatly.

Sasuke's eyes lit up as he inspected the four younger members. "I heard from Brother Haruto that you're part of a strong team assigned to him by Grandpa Hokage. You don't look much older than me! That's great—I finally have someone my age in the clan to hang out with. My name's Sasuke. I'm eight years old, and I'm really glad to meet you!"

The Root recruits exchanged glances before introducing themselves:

"My name is Aburame Tone. I'm 11 years old."

"I'm Yamanaka Fu, also 11."

"My name is Shin. I'm 10."

"And I'm Sai. I'm nine."

Sasuke grinned. "So, I'm the youngest! That's fine. You're part of a strong team, right? Can you practice with me? Training alone gets boring. Don't underestimate me just because I'm younger—I'm pretty strong for my age!"

As he spoke, Sasuke pulled out four tomato rice balls and handed them to the group.

The four recruits hesitated at first but couldn't resist the tantalizing aroma. They began eating with gusto, their earlier discipline momentarily forgotten.

Sasuke smirked. "Eating my rice balls means you've agreed, right? Let's go train now! This wedding is so boring—it's all women everywhere. With your help, I'll definitely get stronger!"

Aburame Tone, the most composed of the group, shook his head after swallowing his last bite. "Sorry, but we can't act without the adults' orders."

"Adults?" Sasuke asked, tilting his head. "You mean Brother Haruto? That's easy. Just wait here—I'll go get him!"

Without waiting for a response, Sasuke dashed across the hall to where Haruto was surrounded by his brides.

"Sisters-in-law, move aside! Brother Haruto, stop kissing already! I need your help!" Sasuke shouted, causing the room to erupt in laughter.

Haruto groaned, wiping lipstick off his face with a tissue. "Sasuke, you really have no sense of timing. What's so urgent that you had to interrupt me?"

Sasuke pointed at the four Root recruits. "I want them to train with me! They look strong. You're their boss, right? Just tell them it's okay!"

Haruto followed Sasuke's gaze to the four young Root members and chuckled. "You've got a good eye, Sasuke. Each of them has their own unique skills. They're quite impressive for their age."

Sasuke's eyes sparkled with excitement. He had always considered himself the strongest among his peers, but Haruto's words stirred a competitive fire within him.

"Really?" Sasuke asked, his voice filled with determination.

Haruto smirked, recognizing the challenge in Sasuke's tone. He knew the boy wouldn't stop pestering him until he agreed. Reluctantly, he nodded. "Fine, but make sure they go easy on you. You'll get hurt if they're too rough."

"Hmph, you underestimate me, Brother Haruto! I'm a genius!" Sasuke declared confidently.

With Haruto's permission secured, Sasuke wasted no time dragging the four recruits outside, eager to test his skills against them.

Elsewhere, in the Hidden Rain Village

At the highest point of the village, Pain sat alone on the tongue of a massive, ghostly statue, gazing out over the rain-soaked land. The constant downpour reflected his melancholic thoughts.

Behind him, Konan approached hesitantly. Her usually composed demeanor was replaced with nervousness as she bit her lip.

"Pain… Nagato," she began softly. "There's something I need to tell you."

"What is it?" he asked without turning, his tone calm yet commanding.

Konan hesitated, then blurted out, "I… I think I'm pregnant."

Pain froze. The weight of her words seemed to hang in the air.

"...What did you say?" he asked, his voice uncharacteristically strained.

"I-I don't know how it happened!" Konan stammered, her face flushed with embarrassment.

Pain's expression darkened as he processed the unexpected revelation. "Whose… child is it?"

"I… I'm not sure…" Konan admitted, her voice barely audible.

Pain's usual composure shattered, leaving him momentarily speechless.

Back at the Uchiha estate, Haruto watched from a distance as Sasuke and the four recruits engaged in spirited training. Despite their initial reluctance, the young Root members gradually loosened up, their movements no longer robotic but fluid and natural.

Haruto smiled to himself. Little by little, they'll rediscover their humanity.

For now, though, he returned to the wedding hall, ready to bask in the joy of his union with Retsu and his other bride. The future, with all its challenges and uncertainties, could wait until tomorrow.
