Uchiha Ascendant: Rewriting the Ninja World

Chapter 25: Chapter 25: Departing for the Grass Country Border

Three Days Later.

A force of over 500 ninja gathered in a wooded area just outside Konoha.

When Uchiha Yo arrived, he drew curious and critical gazes alike. Some recognized him, others did not, but nearly all were aware of the recent rumors surrounding him.

"Yo!"

From the crowd, Uzumaki Kushina waved and smiled at him.

Ignoring the various looks directed his way, Yo smiled brightly and waved back.

"Kushina, you're here too."

His sunny expression seemed to draw even more attention. Kushina, in her usual sassy manner, crossed her arms and mock-glared at him.

"Yo-kun, you're something else! Turns out you've been eyeing Tsunade-nee-san this whole time!"

Though she knew the relationship was fake, Kushina couldn't resist teasing him. After all, the rumors made it seem like his original goal of connecting with her was just a cover for targeting Tsunade.

Yo smirked, unfazed by her teasing.

"Kushina, you can eat all the food you like, but you can't just say whatever you want."

As the two conversed, other ninjas whispered among themselves.

"Uchiha's so despicable," one muttered. "Using his looks to seduce Lady Tsunade for his clan's benefit."

Even among the Uchiha contingent, there were awkward expressions. Many silently thanked their luck that they weren't the ones forced to "sacrifice" themselves like Yo.

Uchiha Fugaku sighed as he observed the scene. "Yo's sacrifice is too great. The clan owes him much."

As the Uchiha heir, Fugaku knew more than most. He was convinced Yo had endured unthinkable trials to gain such critical intelligence for the clan. To him, Yo was a martyr—burning himself to light the way forward for Uchiha.

Kushina, noting the tension, leaned toward Yo and whispered teasingly:

"Looks like the Uchiha reputation is pretty bad right now."

Yo chuckled, indifferent to the stares around him.

"Can't be helped. It's all for the clan and the village."

He knew that without leveraging these connections, it would take years—if not decades—to grow strong. Now, with the clan's support, he had resources others could only dream of.

This wasn't just about personal gain; it was a strategy to survive and thrive in a dangerous world. The future of Uchiha and Konoha demanded strength.

"All right, everyone, prepare to move out!"

The commanding voices of Jiraiya and Tsunade echoed through the forest, prompting the assembled ninja to stand ready.

Clad in silver-gray armor with reinforced chest plates and arm guards, the ninja force exuded a sense of discipline. This armor was designed for large-scale combat, offering both mobility and protection. Even the famed Jiraiya and Tsunade wore it.

"Ha! Everyone's looking fired up!"

Jiraiya's boisterous laugh broke the tension, earning smiles from the crowd. Tsunade, however, maintained a calm and serious demeanor, her eyes subtly glancing toward Kushina.

"Check your gear one last time. We're moving out!"

"Yes, ma'am!"

The force echoed in unison before conducting final checks of their weapons and supplies.

Moments later, the once-dark forest became a blur of motion as countless ninja leapt into action, their shadows darting through the trees toward the Grass Country border.

From a distance, their rapid movements made them look like a swarm of insects.

Within the Formation.

"Yo-kun."

A golden-haired figure moved in sync with Yo, their rhythmic leaps through the forest showing practiced ease.

"Minato," Yo greeted with a warm smile.

It was none other than Namikaze Minato. As they continued their journey, familiar faces began grouping together, forming tight-knit units for better coordination.

"It's been a while, Yo-kun. I didn't expect so many of us to reunite on this mission."

"Yeah, it's rare to fight alongside old friends," Yo replied.

Soon, a familiar group of young shinobi surrounded them: Uzumaki Kushina, Namikaze Minato, Nara Shikaku, Yamanaka Inoichi, Akimichi Choza, Hyuga Hiashi, Hyuga Hizashi, and Aburame Shibi.

Though some were a year or two apart in age, they all knew each other from the Academy.

"Kushina," Minato greeted warmly.

Kushina, however, gave him a cold nod. She still viewed him as too soft and resented how he once passively observed her being bullied.

Minato didn't let her indifference bother him. Smiling sincerely, he addressed the group:

"This mission may seem easier than the Rain Country front, but we should stay prepared to assist them if needed. Let's work together and look out for each other."

Despite Kushina's dismissiveness, Minato's calm demeanor and genuine words began to ease tensions. His natural charisma shone through, earning the group's quiet admiration.

"Of course," Yo replied with a polite smile. Turning to the others, he added:

"Shikaku is the best at strategy and battlefield analysis. With the Hyuga twins' Byakugan, we'll have excellent scouting and coordination. I'm confident in Shikaku's leadership for this operation."

Yo's acknowledgment of others' strengths was well-received, especially by the Nara, Yamanaka, and Akimichi clans. Shikaku, though grumbling about the "troublesome" compliment, nodded in appreciation.

"Hey, Yo! Don't forget about us Inuzuka! My ninja dogs are just as valuable as the Hyuga's Byakugan!"

The wild-looking Inuzuka Claw barked indignantly.

Yo laughed, raising his hands in mock surrender. "Of course, I haven't forgotten. The Inuzuka and Aburame clans' tracking abilities are invaluable. But I'll leave the strategy to the experts."

In the field, Yo preferred to let specialists handle their areas of expertise. Wars weren't won by reckless ambition but by calculated teamwor

With that, the group continued their advance, their bonds as comrades strengthening with every step.
