Chapter 3: Chapter 2 - Banished Prince
The harmonious tunes from the harp filled the beautiful garden, at the very center there was a pavilion which had musicians who were playing heavenly tunes while servants prepared food.
The food was placed at the circular table at the very center. There were 4 high quality cushion chairs placed on each cardinal point as if each of the seats were representing the directions. Which was true for they were the spots of the 4 Dukes of the Ikarus.
The Chair facing the North was occupied by Duke Avos Copera from House Copera from the northern part of the Kingdom, he was a man of principles who greatly valued his lands and mines as the House was quite famous for mining and the resources sold being of high quality.
But just like how the old man looked, he was also a man of temper. House Copera were famous for their temper tantrums, their crest being a hammer and pickaxe in a X shape with their colours being of Silver and Gray.
The Chair facing South was taken by Duke Zitre Humadre from House Humadre who were from the South where a major River called Cerus flows all the way towards the Seas. This gave this house access to the sea enabling them to trade through Maritime.
This saw the House being the richest in the Kingdom, they also control the banking as well making them financially robust. Duke Zitre was an old man who knew where he could make money. He valued money more than his family, his very appearance itself shows considering he doesn't wear anything too luxurious.
Their crest being of a ship sailing on the river and their colours being Green and Gold, which were the mix of the colour of the River and the Gold which they make through trade.
The Chair facing East was taken by Duke Ushik Ulnir from House Ulnir who were from the Eastern part of the Kingdom. A House known for agriculture since the eastern part of the kingdom had fertile lands. House Ulnir has a large monopoly over the agricultural goods sold across the Kingdom.
Although the youngest amongst the group was still an old man, he wore the colours of green to the point where his rings were made of emeralds.
House Ulnir's crest is of a large tree since they believe to be representing nature and blessed by it.
The Chair facing the West was taken by Duke Gerin Leondra from House Leondra. The strongest Ducal House of the Kingdom. Leondra was known for their incredible military discipline and might.
The House would send its vassals and troops in any battle to the point where they would even beg to be allowed to participate in a war. Duke Gerin was also a man of war, his face having scars of his past battle while keeping a strong aura which flows out from his body.
House Leondra had the crest of a mighty lion's head depicted in a way as if it was roaring. A strong symbolism to their might and pride.
The 4 Dukes were practically the strong foundation of the King, they were after all originally created by the adopted sons of the Third King of Ikarus.
They usually gather at a meeting place in the Kingdom to discuss plans which would require all of their combined efforts. Such meetings don't bring out any results; rather it was just a meeting planned by their ancestors to strengthen their brotherly bonds and prevent them from infighting like idiots.
Although it was the plan, the Houses began to loathe each other due to the world of politics being very corrupted.
Duke Zitre spoke to break the silence since others seemed to be more or less interested in it "Seems like the Fourth managed to bring Theon down to its feet." There wasn't much joy albeit a bit of amusement.
Others didn't have much of a reaction as Duke Avos pointed out "It was expected that brat managed to bring five other nations to his feet. Not to mention he was banished to the battlefield at the age of ten." His words contain a hint of warning.
The others knew what Duke Avos meant with it, a boy who spent a decade on the battlefield. At the very frontline, only getting constant victories back to back and conquering nations would definitely return as a strong foe to them considering they have tried to murder him.
Duke Ushik finally spoke "I have told you all that day when he killed my second grandson. We should have killed him, but you all allowed Philip to just banish him to the battlefield." But Duke Zitre commented on it by saying "You cannot judge us, we are not seers. Who in the world expected a small brat to survive a damn war, not just one but like about six or seven or eight."
Duke Gerin scratched his chin while saying "The boy was lucky, but because of that he won't be able to do anything against us." Duke Ushik though disagreed "You can say that, but the moment he returns I am sure that he'll go for my son and after that he'll target your grandkids as well."
Duke Zitre spoke with a slight smirk "You seem to be overestimating a small Banished Prince." Duke Avos though said "That small Banished Prince you speak of, managed to conquer a couple of nations.. not to mention unlocking Aura at a young age without any help."
They all seemed to be having an argument regarding the Fourth Prince, meanwhile back in the battlefield.
Screams of soldiers were heard, but they were ordered to charge towards Estafan and his bloodhounds.
One of the soldiers charged towards Estafan with a long spear but fear, fear made the soldiers slow enough for Estafan to move to his right side before he grabbed the soldier by their neck.
The soldier saw the mask worn by Estafan, it was straight up demonic and haunting. Estafan lifted up the soldier by holding their throat using his thumb, index and middle finger. It was a show of strength which worked because they all stared till Estafan ripped out the throat making the soldier fall down.
A haunting scream from the soldier who fell down while holding his throat which practically had blood gushing out and entering the windpipe. A horrifying sight followed by his voice, "Who is next?" It was terrifying for the soldiers who were already having low morale.
