"Luffy! We don't take children out to sea, hahaha!"

Yasopp laughed heartily, taking another swig of his drink.

"Who said I'm a child? I'm a man now!" Luffy protested, standing defiantly on a stool.

"Oh really? A man, huh? Here you go."

"Thanks."

Luffy took the juice that Shanks handed him and gulped it down in one go.

"Pfft—hahahaha! He's definitely still a kid!" Shanks burst into laughter, slamming his hand on the table. The other Red Hair Pirates roared with laughter, tears forming in the corners of their eyes.

At that moment, the comment screen from the alternate world lit up:

"(Current) Smoker: I didn't expect Admiral Luffy to be this cute as a kid."

"(Current) Hina: Hina's heart is melting! I want to tease little Admiral Luffy!"

"(Current) Luffy: Ahem. Please don't post those comments on the public screen."

"(Original) Garp: My grandson was so cute back then. I'm proud.jpg. But it's all because of Shanks that he became a Pirate! I can't forgive him! I'm angry.jpg."

"(Present) Shanks: I didn't do anything! Stop spreading lies!"

The original Sengoku froze.

He had just taken a critical emotional hit.

"Did I just witness myself eating my own dog food?"

This was beyond embarrassing! Even though it was a different world, Tsuru still existed in both. Their conversation had just exposed everything.

Then, the screen shifted.

"(Original) Luffy: That was a bandit! I remember!"

He was happy—truly happy—to see that, in another world, Luffy had become an Admiral instead of a Pirate. He had always wanted to train Luffy into a proper Marine.

Garp looked at his Luffy—the one from his own world.

This Luffy had charged straight at him to rescue Ace, despite knowing that Garp could knock him out with a single punch.

If I had knocked him out then, could I still call myself a Marine?

If I had let him go, could I still call myself his grandfather?

If only… if only he had become a great Marine like in that world.

But Garp knew how difficult that was. He had tried himself.

The Moment Luffy Became a Pirate

The screen replayed Luffy's past.

It was exactly as people in the original world remembered:

The bandit smacked the bottle from Shanks' hand, spilling the liquor all over his face.

Luffy, furious that Shanks didn't fight back, stormed out of the bar.

In his anger, he ate Shanks' Devil Fruit.

Then, trying to defend Shanks' honor, he confronted the bandits—only to be kidnapped and taken out to sea.

And finally—Shanks lost his arm saving Luffy from the Sea King.

The scene fast-forwarded to the moment when Shanks was about to leave.

Tears streamed down Luffy's face.

"Shanks! One day, I will find a crew as great as yours, find the world's greatest treasure, and become the King of the Pirates!"

Shanks was momentarily stunned.

"Oh? You want to surpass us? Then I'll leave this hat with you. This is my most important treasure. One day, when you've become a great Pirate, bring it back to me!"

The video ended.

The truth was clear.

"This is why Luffy became a Pirate."
