Chapter 6: Festia.
Allen was thoughtful, he was fishing and Xixe was currently rowing the boat ,at first she didn't know how but after he thought her she caught on quickly.
[You have obtained a void shard]
[You have gotten 0.1 points]
This was the tenth time and he has upgraded his fishing rod. "All that fishing for one point, how boring yet peaceful"
Xixe glanced at him, her pink eyes glowed along with the colorful void, she realized Allen was not in the mood to talk but she felt she should speak. "Hey, so uhm how are you liking the void so far"
He stared at her for a dew seconds and then sighed. "Don't know, a day has probably passed at the moment"
He then continued fishing, Xixe wondered why he was reluctant to speak with her, he was cooperative when he helped retrieve the Void lens, Speaking of it she touched her forehead feeling the stone embedded deeply into her body.
She could still use her echoes due to her staff being consumed by it, she could also store things inside if she really wanted to and she then thought of consumption, it takes her a lot of energy in order to Teleport. "My will is not enough to fully use the artefact"
Artefacts are mystical objects that have their own i consciousness, in order to use these artefacts, it has to recognize you as it's weilder and even if it does a person would need a tremendous amount of willpower in order to unleash its true abilities.
Xixe has some potential, she has a slightly tremendous amount of willpower, Allen frowned but he didn't reply to her.
After some time passed it was Allens turn to row. "You can sleep if you want"
He told her nonchalantly.
"I can stay awake for two days without getting tired actually, you can too" She said cheerfully.
"Oh is it because of the [void body], what is it even anyways" He muttered under his breath.
"Ah yes, the [Void Body] is a sort of ancient ability that a very few have, usually it is survivors of dead worlds that have chances of gaining that but you can gain them through Artefacts also, the [Void Body] protects us from being turned to nothing the moment we step into the void" She explained.
"ok, nice explanation bat girl" Allen said, but he didn't seem all that curious anymore.
And this akwardness returned to the two, as he was rowing, Allen wondered what an Ide was, he questioned if there anymore of them…well seeing it said Ide OF consumption, it definitely means there are more but what's more terrifying is it is a hive mind and also a Juevenile, Allen shivered at the mere thought of fighting hordes of cosmic horror insects connected to one consciousness.
"My name is Xixe, what's a bat?" Allen sighed and then began to explain the nature of the mostly harmless nocturnal creature on earth.
Xixe listened with interest. "They do seem similar to me but I usually fly when there is time to"
"Cool i guess" For the next four hours, he rowed unti he strangely felt hungry. He glanced at the sustenance cube which was…sleeping l? near his leg and then took it in his arms.
"Convert void energy to food" He didn't know how to activate it but the words he spoke seems to have worked, it glowe purple for a moment and then a plate made from void energy materialized and what appeared on it was…Rice.
"Well the grain of life it is, you want some Xixe"
"…uhm, i don't really need to eat"
"Void Body?"
"Yeah…"
He shrugguand just stared eating…with his hands, after a while he was done, currently the boat wasn't being towed by anyone as it stood still in the void.
And like that, the routine commenced to the equivalent of three days in the void in that time, Allen got over 5.2 points, he hasn't used them yet because he may need to at a crucial time.
Ahead of them stood a large planet, its atmosphere was surrounded by large pink clouds.
[You have reached the Living World]
[Festia]
-Risk Level:Very High.
-Population:100B
-Resources:Uncalculated.
-Notable Features:Civilization,New Energy.
Allen raised an eyebrow, it's not that he wasn't impressed by the world, it is just that, the risk level is very high. Though it seems there are some resources he can take from here, he took out the map and saw the planet appear at the location.
"Do you have new items at the shop?" He asked the system.
[Shop]
1.Sea Pearl-7.2 points:Allows for easier movement underwater.
2.WILL-10 points:Unlock your willpower and make use of Artefacts.
3.Pocket Shipping-1.5:Allow for the easier keeping of your boat , it shrinks your boat and you can keep it in your pocket.
"This place…it gives me a bad feeling" Xixe meekly said.
Allen glanced at her. "Mostly because they may be predators or strong enough beings there, but i can probably get some information here, i need to go back to earth"
Allen didn't like any of these things, he was still confused over all this, he is afraid that he is not in his universe anymore though…and if he isn't then…
"Yeah, i can probably go on my own way since the void has stabilized a bit" Xixe said as she stood up.
Allen paused, his hand gripping the oar tightly. The void around them felt heavier with her words, like the silence had grown claws and was gripping their small boat.
"You want to leave?" he asked, his voice steady but carrying an edge of something unspoken.
Xixe hesitated, her glowing pink eyes darting away from his gaze. "It's not that I want to leave, Allen. But…you don't seem to trust me. And I don't want to slow you down. The void is vast, and I can find my own way now."
For a moment, neither of them spoke. Allen stared into the endless abyss around them, the faint hum of the void resonating somewhere deep in his bones. Finally, he sighed and ran a hand through his messy hair. "It's not that i don't trust you, it's just all so confusing you seem to have more of a stable will than me, you don't even look confused"
Xixe stood there for a moment. "Allen, You freed me from that world and i am grateful to you, the truth is i don't know where to go, my dream is not achievable, i know because the void is a dangerous place, my earlier statement before we left echo drift was made for my own comfort, so it's just a suicide note i made for myself"
Allen sighed. "Yeah, sorry but if you don't have anywhere to go, will you accompany me on my journey back home Xixe"
Xixe's glowing pink eyes softened as she looked at Allen. The swirling void energy reflected faintly in her gaze, giving her an ethereal presence against the dark expanse surrounding them. After a brief silence, she nodded.
"Yes, Allen. I'll stay with you—for now, at least. If you're trying to get home, then maybe… maybe I can find something for myself along the way too."
Allen gave a small nod, his expression unreadable, but there was a subtle relief in his shoulders. The boat creaked faintly as he adjusted his grip on the oar. For a moment, neither of them spoke. The void stretched infinitely in all directions, broken only by the looming silhouette of Festia ahead.
"Alright then," Allen said finally, his voice cutting through the quiet. "Let's get to Festia. If we're lucky, we'll find something useful. If not, well… at least it'll be more interesting than staring at the void all day."
Xixe smirked slightly, her sharp fangs glinting under the faint glow of void energy. "That's the spirit, Allen."
Xixe's ears twitched as she heard a sound, it was a faint chuckling. "Why are you laughing?"
She asked curiously. Allen smiled. "Well you just looked cute that was all"
Xixe tilted her head. "Oh ok, but why are you laughing then"
Allen's mouth formed into a thin line…he wondered, can aliens not be flustered. "Forget about it, let's just land"
[You have dropped the anchor, due to this being a living world, you will be transported to a relatively safe part of where the anchor landed]
[Initializing…Done]
The boat then disappeared from the void…and then the two were now where a boat is supposed to be. A large body of water, supposedly a small river.
"Air, finally" Allen said as he enjoyed the gentle breeze of this world's environment.
Xyxe looked into the river and saw multiple yellow glowing eyes looking back at her, she stopped looking at the river and went close to Allen instead. "There's something in the water"
"It is probably just fish, we are in a safe area" And just as he said that, something streaked past above them and crashed near the edges of the river.
