Traveling Across Movie Worlds

Chapter 96: Meeting Jill and Terri

The city resembled a battlefield, the streets littered with debris and stained with blood. As Alice and I navigated through the desolation, the acrid stench of death clung to the air. Zombies roamed aimlessly, their groans creating an eerie symphony against the hollow echoes of empty buildings. The occasional gunfire from Umbrella's U.B.C.S. squads reminded us that the chaos was far from under control.

Alice rode her motorcycle with precision, her enhanced abilities enabling her to eliminate the undead effortlessly with headshots. I covered her flank driving in an SUV, using my Technopathy to disable Umbrella's surveillance cameras and drones, while also hacking into their communications. With each step we took, we drew closer to Raven's Bridge Church where we will meet up with Terri and Jill.

I didn't want to ruin Alice's epic entrance into the church, so I let her ride the bike. After half an hour of nonstop GTA-style driving, we arrived at the church.

The scene before us was grim. The church's entrance was swarmed by zombies, their decayed forms clawing at the wooden doors. From within, we could hear the unmistakable, guttural screech of a Licker. Its chilling cry sent shivers down my spine, even though I knew I could squash it like a bug maybe due to its gruesome appearance.

Alice revved her engine, determination flashing in her eyes. With a single motion, she gunned the accelerator, aiming for an overturned car near the church steps. The bike shot forward, using the car as a ramp. She launched through the air, shattering the stained glass window that depicted Christ, her figure silhouetted against the cascade of falling shards.

Not one to let Alice steal the entire spotlight, I stepped out of the SUV, my sword glowing in the dim light. A handgun rested firmly in my other hand. The zombies at the church's entrance turned toward me, their lifeless eyes locking onto fresh prey, drawn by the sound of the vehicle's door slamming shut.

"Time to make an entrance," I muttered, stepping forward.

The first zombie lunged, but I dispatched it with a clean swipe of my sword. Its head rolled to the ground as I fired my handgun at another in the distance, the shot piercing its decayed skull. With calculated movements, I cleared a path toward the church, cutting down zombies that came too close and shooting those beyond my blade's reach.

Each step brought me closer to the church doors, where the chaos inside raged on. As I reached the entrance, I could hear the chaos raging inside—gunfire, screeches, and the unmistakable sound of Alice's boots hitting the ground mid-combat, her movements fluid and deadly. She was poetry in motion—a hurricane of destruction amidst the chaos.

I burst through the doors, kicking them open with force, ready to join the fight. However, Alice had already defeated all three lickers single-handedly, and I missed the chance to make an epic entrance in front of the beauties.

"Well," I muttered under my breath, hiding my disappointment. "There goes my big moment."

Swallowing my disappointment, I kept my expression neutral and approached Alice, Jill, and Terri. I introduced myself and Alice formally, revealing that I was the mysterious caller who had guided them through the chaos. The revelation seemed to ease the tension in the group.

Reaching into my coat, I pulled out a vial containing the T-virus antidote along with an injection device. I handed it to Jill, explaining the origins of the virus and the Hive facility beneath Raccoon City. "This should help Peyton," I added, gesturing to Jill's injured teammate.

The gesture visibly softened Jill's demeanor, increasing her trust in me. This trust was bolstered not only by my charm but also by the influence of the System's Harem function. Jill injected Peyton, who began to stabilize almost immediately.

After the introductions and brief discussions, we piled into the SUV. I took the wheel, Alice beside me, while Jill and Terri settled in the back with Peyton. We headed toward the Westwood Theater, where a group of S.T.A.R.S. members had established a temporary stronghold.

The city burned as we moved through the streets, heading toward the Westwood Theater, flames consuming what was left of Raccoon City. The air shimmered with heat, and the skyline glowed with the eerie orange hue of destruction. This trip wasn't just a simple rendezvous with capable survivors—it was a strategic move to build a survivor group for the upcoming worldwide infection. Nemesis would arrive soon, armed to the teeth, and they alone don't stand a chance against that thing.

Inside the SUV, the atmosphere was tense but focused. Alice sat beside me, her hands resting on her thighs, but her posture radiated readiness. Jill sat in the back, tending to Peyton, who was starting to recover thanks to the antidote I had provided. Terri clutched her camera tightly, documenting everything with a mix of fear and determination.

Jill broke the silence first. "Where are we going, and how do we get out of Raccoon City?"

I glanced at her in the rearview mirror, my expression calm but serious. "We are heading to Westwood Theater a dozen members of S.T.A.R.S have gathered there. This virus is not going to stop with just Raccoon City it has already mutated and is now air-born and it is spreading so fast that in just a few weeks the whole United States will be infected. So you'll need them in your group if you wanna survive in the upcoming Apocalyptic World."

Everyone in the vehicle was surprised after hearing this new information. Even Alice glanced at me in surprise at how deadly the virus was. The weight of my words hung heavy in the air.

The SUV roared through the streets, avoiding scattered debris and hordes of zombies. With my Technopathy, I ensured Umbrella's surveillance remained blind to our movements. The System fed me updates on Nemesis's location—he was closing in, tearing through the city like a relentless predator.
