Travel To A Primitive World To Build Infrastructure

Chapter 6

Everyone knew that there’s no such thing as a free lunch.

The medicines brought by Yang Yi were extremely precious. Just look at the transparent bottle, it was clearer than a crystal, and who knows how many prey and fur are needed to make an exchange.

The caravan only has a few things for exchange, and they cost the tribe a lot of slaves, furs, and other values from the tribe.

Only these medicines and blanket worth more than what the caravan brought!

If those people from the big tribe knew that there was a life-saving medicine that can bring people back to life, it would undoubtedly start a fanaticism and even led to plunder.

But Yang Yi was very generous, and even ordinary people could get treatment.

Except for the gods, no one  would be as selfless as him.

“I left the place where I used to live, and I have no way to go back. I need some people to build a new home with me.”

Yang Yi explained in Chinese mixed with gestures.

Jiao understood from what he said that he was some sort of wanderer.

For some reason, he had separated from his former tribe and wanted to join a new tribe.

“We really hope that we are the ones you are looking for, but as you can see, we are poor. We were driven out of the former tribe, because most of us are weak and useless.”

The Blackrock Tribe was a large tribe, rich and powerful, with many warriors.

Besides, they owned precious black stones to make weapons.

Blackstone weapons were sharp and hard, and they could chop ordinary stones, which made them unbeatable.

They often invaded other tribes, plundered their finances, and captured their people. Then, they treated the captives as slaves or sold them to the Western Continent caravans  in exchange for a lot of magical items from the West.

Within the Blackrock tribe only the soldiers gained respect, ordinary people were like slaves, as for the old or those people with disabilities, they would be abandoned.

But the Blackrock Tribe was not originally like this. It was only since the current chieftain took office  that it became more and more aggressive.

The chieftain was old and would soon be replaced by a new warrior, but he became even more crazy and did not want to give up the position of chief.

If it was not due to the protection of Hei Lie, many of them would have been sold earlier.

The reason they were expelled from the tribe was due to the chief taking advantage of the time that Hei Lie was sent to exchange for salt and the main force that protected them being deployed to hunt a most horrifying beast.

If Hei Lie had not made extra arrangements, making the chief and priests dare not to treat them too cruelly, they would be  sold as ‘meat’ rather than just being expelled.

They were indeed a group of abandoned people, obviously weak, and unable to hide the fact.

Everyone looked nervous as they stared at Yang Yi and waited to hear his answer.

Although this person denied that he was a god, he was as extraordinary as God. Their hope raised.

Yang Yi did not answer immediately, after a while, he spoke, “If I am willing to stay?”

Jiao’s eyes became bright, and knelt directly, others followed.

“We swear by God’s name, as long as you are willing to stay and help us, we will obey you unconditionally!”

Yang Yi was very clear on the fact  that these people were not ignorant and willing to offer themselves easily.

It was because there was no other viable option so they had to try to seize every opportunity.

For them, this was also a kind of gambling, they did not know  whether such a decision was a blessing or not

Yang Yi clearly saw the awe from their eyes, for he dared to enter the Black Forest and possessed extraordinary weapons and medicines.

Although these people felt that his physique was not strong enough, they still did not dare to underestimate him

They believed in the gods and the vow was serious for them. They did not dare to say that they could achieve it but would not easily go back on their words.

Yang Yi chose to believe in them, because their words were the only thing they had.

“Get up, you don’t need to do that in the future.”

Mao was so excited and jumped up and down around him. “Yi,  you are willing to stay?”

Yang Yi nodded with a smile and took out a can of things from his backpack.

The people were once again shocked by the items he had taken out, another transparent crystal bottle, which contained something similar to a small ice cubes.

Yang Yi unscrewed the jar and motioned to Mao to open his mouth.

Mao did not know why, but he followed.

Yang Yi dropped a piece into  Mao’s mouth. Jiao wanted to say something, however, after thinking about it she didn’t say anything.

Since they had decided to offer their souls, they must  show some faith.

Looking at all of their  expressions, Yang Yi knew that they treated rock candy as a potential drug that could control people.

“Wow! So sweet! what is this?!”

Mao was so excited about the taste and jumped from the ground. He kept licking the sugar with his tongue, and the sweetness filled his entire mouth.

No matter which world children were in, they all couldn’t resist the deliciousness of sugar.

What’s more, it was not easy to taste anything sweet here.

It was said  that during the Byzantine Empire, the medicinal doctors also used sucrose as a cure for fever.

Jiao was shocked. Yang Yi also handed a piece to her, “Do you want to try it?”

Jiao did not hesitate and opened her mouth.

“……”

Yang Yi squatted and fed the woman who looked as old as his aging mother.

Jiao tasted the sweetness of rock sugar, and her pupils were quickly enlarged.

Really sweet! Like honey, it was so attractive.

Others were also eager to try, especially the children. They all looked at Mao with envy.

“For you all.” Yang Yi took out another two cans from the bag and handed them all to Jiao, in a particularly generous gesture.

People cheered and rushed to Jiao, especially the children.

The rock sugar only cost around 6 yuan per can in the mall, but it still let everyone experience the pleasant sweetness that had captured their hearts so easily.

Yang Yi signaled towards Kun who ran up in response immediately.

“God…”

“Call me Yang Yi.”

Kun tried a few times,  but he still could not speak the two words correctly.

Yang Yi could only give up and let him call himself Yi as Mao did.
