Chapter 63 - Memories
The two girls stepped into the Love Cabin, immediately enveloped by the lively atmosphere.
Their suitcases were swiftly taken from their hands by others. Without even recognizing who it was, they repeatedly said thank you.
Su QingYao and Du ShuHuai.
Du ShuHuai was new, with no notable works to her name. Besides being recognized by those who had seen Qin Yan’s Tale, she was a stranger to everyone else.
As for Su QingYao, she was a world-renowned supermodel!
At 18, she began her journey on the runway. Starting from a small, obscure city, she worked her way onto international stages. At 20, she rose to fame after winning a prestigious modeling competition, becoming one of the representatives of the supermodel world. Her commanding stage presence attracted endless fashion resources vying for her attention.
However, at the peak of her career, the world-class supermodel abruptly announced her retirement at 30. Now, two years later, she reappeared in the public eye—not to return to the runway, but simply to step back into the camera’s view.
Standing at 178 cm, Su QingYao wore an elegant crimson satin fishtail dress that accentuated her stunning figure. Her skin was as fair as white jade, and her hair was pinned up on one side, with a few loose strands adding a touch of refined disarray.
“Hello, everyone. I’m Su QingYao.”
After two years of retreat, the sharpness she once wielded on the world stage had softened, polished into the serene beauty of an Eastern goddess.
From the moment she entered, Meng YaoEr’s gaze followed her unwaveringly, utterly captivated by her beauty.
The other girl, Du ShuHuai, had a more striking and spirited appearance. Despite being Tang Yuan’s stunt double, her facial features bore no resemblance to Tang Yuan’s. While not exceptionally glamorous, her looks were captivating in their own understated way. She introduced herself with poise, “Hello, everyone. I’m Du ShuHuai. I look forward to learning from you all.”
In terms of experience, everyone present was indeed her senior.
【Wow, the production team really outdid themselves! They even got Su QingYao!】
【Two stunning beauties at once—what a feast for the eyes!】
【Did anyone notice Meng YaoEr’s gaze? She seems lovestruck again.】
【Has she found someone else? Wasn’t she into Tang Yuan and Jiang Zi?】
【Great! JiangTang is finally free!】
When Tang Yuan and Jiang Zi came downstairs and saw the new arrivals, their eyes lit up again and again.
Su QingYao sat gracefully on the sofa, a cup of hot tea in her hands and a soft smile on her lips. Despite the bright red of her dress, her aura was understated, exuding a calm serenity.
Who would’ve thought Sister Qing had the connections to bring her here?
Su QingYao nodded politely in greeting. “Hello, I’m Su QingYao.”
Tang Yuan pulled Jiang Zi to sit down. “Hello, Sister Su. I’ve seen your runway shows. I’m Tang Yuan.” She then introduced the person next to her, “This is Jiang Zi, my girlfriend.”
“I remember you.” Su QingYao’s gaze shifted between Tang Yuan and Jiang Zi without a hint of surprise. She nodded lightly. “I know. I’ve seen you before.”
“You remember me?!” Tang Yuan was astonished. Back in high school, she’d chased after her as a fan, attending several live events. She never expected to be remembered.
[Wait a second—it wasn’t me who got recognized; it was the original who left an impression.]
[Why do my memories of the original feel increasingly real lately?]
Jiang Zi, who had been quietly observing, suddenly felt a sharp pang in her chest, as if stabbed by a needle. The pain, though fleeting, extended to her fingertips. She furrowed her brows, startled by the inexplicable sensation.
Tang Yuan, oblivious to Jiang Zi’s subtle change in expression, remained focused on Su QingYao, eagerly whispering, “How did Sister Qing persuade you to join this show?”
Su QingYao’s smile deepened, and after a moment’s thought, she joked, “To make a living. She said the pay was good, so I came.”
Of course, no one took her words at face value, but Tang Yuan could sense that Su QingYao didn’t want to reveal her real reasons and chose not to press further.
“Thank you, Teacher Deng. I can manage on my own.”
Du ShuHuai felt a bit awkward, trying to retrieve her own luggage.
She really didn’t want to trouble her senior, afraid of being called out for having low EI.
【Just let him help you carry it, give him a chance to show off.】
【What’s wrong with Luo Luo joining a dating show, he just wants to fall in love.】
【Our Luo Luo is actually quite honest. The two new guys, Su Qingyao isn’t his match, and he isn’t bothering her, but he’s going after you.】
【Don’t say, Qi Hongqiao is over there trying to win over our Yaoyao!】
【I misjudged him in the first few episodes. He really dares to have his sights on our Yaoyao!】
【Isn’t the point of joining the show to practice dating and relationships with the guests? If you don’t want someone chasing you, why join a show?】
Meanwhile, Qi HongQiao sat beside Su QingYao, leaving a respectful half-seat gap. He lowered his voice, trying to appear like a charming gentleman. “Miss Su, if you need anything, feel free to ask me or the others. We’re all very approachable.”
Su QingYao responded with polite indifference. “Thank you. I’ll be sure to ask if needed. I appreciate it.”
“No problem at all.” Qi HongQiao cleared his throat, eager to continue the conversation. “By the way, have you had a chance to watch our show before?”
Su QingYao’s expression remained calm, her poised smile unwavering. It was evident that her years of modeling had honed her mastery of expression management. “Not yet. Life’s been busy. I’m participating with a mindset to experience something new.”
“Ah, I see. Well, let me tell you about…”
Before he could finish, a force interrupted him, pushing him aside as a slender figure slipped between them, effectively cutting him off.
Qi HongQiao’s smile stiffened as his suppressed annoyance nearly surfaced. He looked up, only to meet Meng YaoEr’s playful expression. Her fiery red lips curved in a teasing smile as she spoke in a sultry tone, “Mr. Qi, don’t get too close to this beautiful sister. I’m fine with it, but Sister XinXin might get jealous.”
Jie Xin, suddenly called out, looked utterly bewildered. Jealous of what?
After all, she and Qi HongQiao were only playing their respective roles for the show. It was just acting—nothing genuine.
Meng YaoEr didn’t care what they thought. After leaving them with that remark, she boldly turned her attention to Su QingYao, her gaze hot and unabashed.
“Sister, we really are fated to meet.”
Su QingYao’s fingers traced the rim of her teacup as her calm eyes lingered on Meng YaoEr’s face. Her voice was steady, “Hello.”
“Sister, don’t you remember me? You’re breaking my heart.” Meng YaoEr dramatically clutched her chest, her eyes dry yet perfectly conveying pitiful charm.
It seemed Meng YaoEr had a natural talent for acting.
