Transmigrated As A Villain, The Heroines Are Also Regressors?
Chapter 148: Simply Weird Or Insane?
Anyways, all jokes aside, after being rudely hung up on by the furious caller, Ronald was a bit confused.
Although he had no idea what had even happened just now, since he actually had a conversation with her once already in this life before, he knew immediately that the person on the other end of the phone was none other than...
'Lin Minyi's sister, who is supposedly named Lin Zhu.'
But how did she even get his number?
And more importantly, what did she even mean by him 'fucking lying to us?'
As it currently stands, the only thing he could think of lying to them about was his promise to cure her sister and reunite them back together.
But he already did that, didn't he?
As a matter of fact, it's actually them that's not holding up their side of the deal and making sure that Luna's subordinates don't lurk around him by any means neccessary.
And sure, even though Luna's subordinates haven't been lurking around him for a few days now for some reason, Luna's subordinates could come back to his side at any given time now, and if they were to do that while he was doing something that he couldn't let anyone see, then no doubt they'll report it back to Luna.
And he couldn't even imagine the hell that would break loose if Luna, or even any of the heroine finds out about some of his secrets.
With that in mind, Ronald decided that before he was going to try and come up with an actual plan to get rid of Ling Feng once and for all, he should have a good old-fashioned... 'meeting,' with Lin Zhu first.
But of course, in order to do that, he was going to need Iris to stop following him around like a pet dog for a little bit first.
"Yo, Iris." Ronald called out.
"Yes, Young Master?" Iris, who had noticed Ronald deep in thought and had been silently standing on the sidelines the entire time, responded.
"I just wanna double check something. The high schooler who was down in the basement last night, he was the one who broke into my house, rescued the old man I had hostage, and is responsible for blowing up the mansion, right?" Although Ronald 100% knew this was the case since he had been secretly watching the fight the entire time, he asked anyways.
"...Correct, Young Master." Iris attempted to reply in her usual monotone and cold voice, but the sheer anger she felt over the intruder inconveniencing and even endangering Ronald's life enraged her so much that her tone came out icier than usual.
"I see... so, what do you think we should do about him then? He might come back if I simply just let him be."
"I think we should leave him be for now, Young Master. I'm confident he won't come back to disturb you again, as it appears his objective was to rescue Lai Ho in the first place." As much as Iris hated saying this, especially since she herself almost wanted nothing more than to murder Ling Feng right now, she was worried that pursuing him might drag Ronald into the crossfire again.
And considering that Ronald had only survived through a stroke of luck last night, she absolutely, cannot, under any circumstances, allow him to be placed under such danger again.
"Still, he had the gall to break into my mansion, take the hostage I had captive away from me, and destroyed the mansion all while knowing that I was the one renting out the mansion! If I simply just let him be, the entire world will think that my Kuangge family is easy to bully!" Ronald pretended to be extremely upset and shook his fist in rage.
"..." Seeing as how extremely frustrated Ronald was, Iris tried opening her mouth in order to say something back and reason with him for a bit, but for some reason, the words didn't want to come out of her mouth.
And it wasn't because she was afraid of him shifting the anger onto her or anything like that.
Oh no, not at all.
At this point, she was willing to risk upsetting him for a little bit if it meant successfully persuading him not to pursue Ling Feng for the time being and keeping him out of the crossfire.
It was just that... she had also began to get even more upset and very angry as well when she saw how distraught Ronald was.
After all, it was probably the first ever time in this life that she had seen Ronald clearly this upset at something.
And what was worse was that she could do nothing about it except to just hopelessly stand here and try to talk him out of it instead of being able to directly solve the problem for him.
And she hated it.
No, that was an understatement.
She absolutely despised it.
In fact, she despised being this useless so much that her head began to heavily cloud her judgment, and her eyes started to appear absolutely bloodthirsty.
All she could think of right now was to tear Ling Feng apart.
Bring him down, bit by bit.
Make him suffer.
Make him scream.
Make him beg.
And more importantly, make him regret, for ever even thinking about crossing her Young Master.
She wanted to do all of these things so badly that her entire body trembled with the sheer force of her desire, and she unconsciously dug her nails into her palm as her breathing became more rough and jagged than before.
She wanted it.
She needed it.
To see him suffer, before her very eyes.
And she was going to stop at nothing until she absolutely sees him all torn apart, broken beyond recognition, and-
Before Iris could continue her train of thought however...
"Ow." Iris felt a flick on her forehead and she couldn't help but cover it with both her hands as she immediately came back to reality.
"Did you even hear a thing I said just now?" Ronald lightly raised his eyebrows and questioned.
"...Young Master... sorry." Iris, who could clearly be seen with a few droplets of sweat traveling down her face, muttered softly as she couldn't help but slightly get angry with herself.
Although she knew of the risks and side effects that were associated with following down the same path she had taken in her previous life, she still managed to let it take control of her anyways.
If Ronald hadn't flicked her head and managed to stop her in time just now, then she might've done something she would've deeply regret.
"Uh, yeah, it's fine. Don't worry about it too much, we've all had those moments before." Even though Ronald responded casually and sounded carefree on the surface, he was internally extremely confused deep down.
It was obvious that he had seen a glimpse of Iris's obvious weird state, or madness, just now, and he didn't quite understand why him being even slightly a bit more upset than usual had provoked such an reaction from her.
After all, she had never even once shown such an insane reaction before in both during his previous life or back when he was still reading the novel on earth.
But regardless of the reasoning, Ronald didn't want to think too much about it for now and so he shifted his focus back to the Lin sisters.
"Anyways, as I was saying earlier, since you're a world-class assassin or something like that, surely you've got connections with other powerful assassins and other members in the underworld, right? Why not just get into contact with them and get them to hunt Ling Feng and the Lai family down so that he's constantly occupied with protecting them while you continue training up to become even stronger or whatever it is that you do, and then once you're confident enough to take him out, then you can go and kill him." Ronald suggested.
Of course, he knew that this plan was never going to work, and Ling Feng would most likely not even struggle with such an awful plan, but it should be good enough to keep Iris occupied while he was gone.
Plus, even if Iris didn't want to get involved with Ling Feng for now, this plan practically had no repercussions for him or Iris anyways since if Ling Feng was constantly under attack and defending the Lai family, then he would naturally not be able to come after anyone, and Iris should know this.
Besides, if Iris truly loved him as much as he think she does, then she wouldn't just let someone who had almost kill him simply get away with it, would she?
'Of course, there's still a .00001% that she's actually not in love with me and all, but... ah who the hell am I even kidding at this point, she definitely loves me.'
"Well, what do you think about it, Iris? Doesn't that sound like a good plan to you?" Seeing as though Iris remained silent after hearing his plan out and didn't give any signs of approval or diapproval, he queried while smirking arrogantly.
"...It is, Young Master. I'll do as you say." After having an internal conflict with herself about whether or not she should actually continue trying to persuade Ronald to forget about Ling Feng for now or to actually try and take Ling Feng down for another good minute, Iris eventually decided to agree to Ronald's plan.
It wasn't actually an overall bad plan to begin with after all, and truth be told, it was honestly a solid one in fact.
Sure, while Ling Feng is a cultivator that had practically gotten the better hold of her for a short bit, meaning that almost nobody in the underworld scene would be able to actually put up a good fight with him, considering that he was already in the 6th level of the Body Tempering Realm despite being at such a young age, she knew that she needed to constantly put pressure on Ling Feng and on the people he's protecting so that he can't cultivate while she herself gets stronger if she wants to have a better chance of taking him out later down the road.
Not to mention that all of her anger and rage for that bastard who dared trying to harm her Young Master still was extremely high.
"Haha, glad to hear so. I'm a genius when it comes to these things after all. Alright, well let's go back to the safe house you first brought me to back during the whole masquerade party incident and then you can go on from there." Ronald casually boasted and then began walking away from the crumbled mansion until he stopped on his tracks and turned back to Iris for a final time.
"Oh, and by the way, since I haven't actually gotten any sleep last night after that whole ordeal, don't disturb me under any circumstances for the rest of the day once we get back to the safe house, got it?"
"Understood, Young Master."
"Good."
'...'
'Man, Iris sure does scare me sometimes.'
