TOWER OF GOD - Ascension of the Fallen One

Chapter 6: Important announcement.

Hi everyone, it's been a while since we last talked!

I wanted to take a moment to officially announce that my fanfiction is currently on pause. You probably guessed as much, considering I haven't posted a chapter in over two months… After some reflection, I've realized I'm not satisfied with the way the story is shaping up. It feels too bland and far too similar to the original work, which wasn't my initial goal.

That's why I've decided to start fresh, with many changes and more original elements to make the plot more engaging. For now, I'm reading other fanfictions and novels to get inspired and explore new ideas.

As for the main character, I feel like he came across as too mature. The backstory I initially created for him doesn't really justify how unshakable and wise he appears, especially in a harsh environment like the Tower, where he's just starting out. That being said, he'll still retain some key traits—he'll remain darker, more intelligent, and colder towards others. However, this time his backstory (which you'll uncover later in the story) will justify his behavior and actions.

Be prepared: he'll be much more brutal and apathetic than what I originally wrote.

The other characters, including my OCs, will stay as they are for now, though I haven't really developed them much yet in the current version. (And just to remind you, in this fic, Khun is a woman—it makes more sense to me, especially given the ambiguity of Khun and Baam's relationship in canon.)

As for the harem, yes, it's going to be… quite large. Why? To be blunt, it's for fan service and because I enjoy it. That said, don't worry: Baam won't "collect" girls like Pokémon. The relationships will build gradually, through meaningful interactions.

The story will still be serious, though I understand if the harem aspect isn't to everyone's taste. If it helps, I do have another Tower of God story without a harem (though that one is also on pause for now).

Lastly, another reason for restarting is the writing itself. I find it too repetitive, overly detailed, and not very fluid. It's something that can really take away from the reading experience—even for me as the author. Part of this issue comes from my overuse of AI, which hasn't helped improve my style.

From now on, AI will only be a tool to assist with inspiration or occasional rewrites, but I'll focus on relying more on my own skills. I hope that, over time, my grammar and writing will improve to the point where I won't need it anymore.

Thank you again for your patience and support. I hope to come back soon with a version that you'll enjoy even more!

See you soon!

Next chapter will be updated first on this website. Come back and continue reading tomorrow, everyone!
