Y/n's POV

I've been sitting here with Mikey at the hospital since we both got here hours ago. He hasn't moved hardly at all. Even when I place a hand over one of his lying limply by his side, he doesn't move and feels cold to the touch. Draken passed us both and I already knew how broken he would be. What I didn't expect was for him to call Mikey outside without even trying to understand what happened and why.

I got up to follow them only to have Draken turn to me with rage filled eyes. "Don't." He then continued to lead Mikey out of the hospital without even turning back again.

Draken…this isn't how Emma would've wanted it.

I followed them, anyway, trying to stay back far enough that I wouldn't be noticed too quickly. I held back at the doors only to be mortified to see Draken beating Mikey.

"Draken, stop!" I rushed to try to grab his arm and stop him only to have him push me off and get back to it with tears threatening to fall from his eyes. He even hit Takemitchy, as if he hadn't already been through enough as well.

I need to stop this!

After he hit Takemitchy out of the way, I immediately jumped in between Draken and Mikey with my arms spread in an attempt to gain his attention as well as protect Mikey from being hit further.

You're family too.

We won't let him fall apart.

"Ken, STOP!!!" I screamed it as loud as I could as I planted myself in between him and Mikey, trying to do my best to prevent him from being hit anymore.

I can take a hit…even if it's from Draken…I can take it…Emma wouldn't have wanted this….

"Do you think Emma, who loves you, would've have wanted you beating her family like this? Do you think she blames him?!" Tears flooded from my eyes to the point that all I could see were blurs.

He didn't answer me, and I couldn't see if he was even taking in anything I said at all. After a few moments, I could make out the sound of crunching snow as he walked away. I carefully bent down to look over Mikeys' injuries. He didn't even move as I tried to pull him onto my lap. Takemitchy offered to help me bring him back into the hospital, and we took great care as we did so. When he sat him back down on one of the benches, I pulled his head to lay over my heart and began to hum in an attempt to bring him back.

Mikey….please….say anything…

Mikey didn't even respond to Takemitchy as he explained that they had the battle with Tenjiku coming. As Takemitchy began to walk away while saying he would lead in his place, I was filled with conviction.

I can't stop now…Mikey may need me….I know he's hurting….but I need to see if I can help Takemitchy somehow to help save….

"Takemitchy, I'll catch up, okay?" He gave a brief nod before heading off.

I cupped Mikey's cheeks and turned him to face me. He still felt so cold, and the sight of his empty expression broke my heart. "Manjiro, no matter what you believe right now, you aren't alone. You have Takemitchy and you will always have me. I'll be whatever you need me to be to bring you back to me."

I smoothed his hair out of his face before bringing him closer to press a soft kiss to his forehead. "I think you need someone to boost morale for the rest of your family, so that's what I'm going to try to do. I swear it." I shakily released him so I could go find Takemitchy.

I had just rounded the corner when I saw a girl with coral colored hair sobbing for her friend. I had never really been able to get to know her and hung back as she went to confront Takemitchy about his odd way of trying to cheer her up.

I walked to the door that held Emma's body and could only stare.

My bestie.

My sister.

I miss you so much!

I swiped tears from my eyes in frustration.

Is this all I can do is cry?!?!?!

Am I that useless?

"You remind me of Mitchy, you know." The sudden voice made me jump in surprise as I looked right at Hina who was now standing beside me. I could only stare at her in confusion as she gave me a tearful smile. "Neither of you realize the impact you have on those around you and always seem to think you aren't doing enough while you're putting yourselves at risk." With that, she pulled my hands into hers as she continued. "I hope you know that I will stand by you too. She's considered my family, so that makes us family by default, right?"

My lips quivered as she smiled at me, and I didn't hesitate to embrace her. "Of course, you're my sister. Never forget it!"

I couldn't help still fearing what would happen next as I walked away from her.

No matter what, I will do all I can and more. I refuse to stop now.
