Chapter 63: Chapter 60: The Promised Reward For Rize's Patience
After receiving their supplies, Ryoko Fueguchi and Hinami Fueguchi didn't leave immediately.
Hinami was still troubled by what had just happened.
So, in the second-floor room at the Anteiku café, she asked Kirishima Touka, "Touka-nee, the big brother who left just now with that really pretty lady... do you know him?"
"The pretty lady you're talking about... she has glasses and purple hair, right?" Touka asked for confirmation.
"Yeah," Hinami nodded.
"Then I know who they are, but I can't say I know that guy very well. Why are you asking, Hinami?" Touka asked curiously.
"Because... that big brother smelled like my dad, and I really want to know what happened to him..." Hinami explained quietly, her head down.
"I see..."
Touka's expression shifted to one of concern.
Wasn't Hinami's father still in the 19th Ward? When had Kanzaki Ryoma been to the 19th Ward? And why did he have contact with Hinami's father?
"Unfortunately, I don't know much about him, so I'm not sure what's going on. Sorry," Touka said apologetically.
"It's okay!" Hinami said quickly.
She couldn't possibly blame Touka — Touka had always taken care of them.
But now, Hinami would have to find another way to learn more about her father.
...
Meanwhile, at Ryoma and Rize Kamishiro's place...
"So, you're planning to use the mother and daughter to draw out 'Gecko'?" Rize asked.
"It's not exactly using them. I'm not putting them in harm's way — if anything, I'm protecting them. If 'Gecko' realizes they're related to the doctor, he'll definitely go after them," Ryoma explained.
"Suit yourself," Rize said nonchalantly. "I'm not really interested in this sort of thing, but if you want me to help deal with 'Gecko,' I wouldn't mind."
"That won't be necessary," Ryoma replied firmly. "I'm a ghoul investigator now, and there are others investigating 'Gecko' too. If they found out about you, it'd only cause more trouble."
"Fine," Rize shrugged. Then she smirked slyly. "You haven't forgotten something else, have you?"
Although Rize's words were vague, Ryoma immediately caught her meaning.
"You're talking about that promise... to let you 'taste' me again, right? Don't worry, I haven't forgotten. We agreed on two days from now."
"Two days? Why wait?" Rize said impatiently. "I can't hold back anymore."
"That's not happening. Not a day sooner," Ryoma said firmly.
"Ugh, you're so mean!" Rize pouted playfully. "Fine, but when the time comes... don't expect me to go easy on you."
...
Two days passed quickly.
During that time, Ryoma didn't do anything special — just patrolled the streets, hoping to spot 'Gecko.'
Although the 20th Ward wasn't huge, it wasn't exactly small either. Despite his efforts, Ryoma didn't come across any sign of Yakumo Oomori.
But today, there was something else to deal with — Ryoma needed to fulfill his promise to Rize.
To his surprise, Rize insisted on dragging him into her room for this.
Her room was surprisingly simple. The dressing table barely had any cosmetics — only a small container of lip balm.
The room was neat and smelled faintly pleasant.
Since Rize had moved in, Ryoma hadn't entered her room until now.
"Why your room? Couldn't we just do this in the living room?" Ryoma asked.
"How could it be so casual?" Rize scoffed. "This is what you promised me — just listen to me."
"Fine, fine," Ryoma muttered.
He planned to manage the situation carefully. If Rize tried to push things too far, he wouldn't just let it happen.
Suddenly, Rize shoved Ryoma down onto the bed with surprising force.
She leaned over him, placing her hands on either side of his shoulders, her face slightly flushed.
Her expression, along with her position, gave the impression that something... unspeakable was about to happen.
Then, Rize leaned closer to his ear and whispered softly, "You asked why, right? It's because... it feels better this way."
For a moment, Ryoma thought she might actually take a bite out of his ear. But Rize's face shifted lower...
She pressed her body fully against his, wrapping her arms tightly around him.
Then, gently, she bit into the area between his shoulder and neck.
It was careful at first — as if she was being considerate, giving him time to mentally prepare. The pressure increased gradually, slow and controlled.
Once the pain kicked in, Ryoma knew her patience was reaching its limit.
It was just too delicious — the taste was unlike anything else. Her senses flared, and her hunger intensified.
Instinctively, Rize clung even tighter to him — her grip around his torso becoming almost suffocating. But on the front side... well, the pressure was noticeably softer.
Oddly enough, that distraction dulled some of the pain.
The discomfort didn't last long, though. Thanks to the powerful regenerative abilities granted by the Hashirama cells in his body, the wound began to heal rapidly.
Rize, still pressed against him, resisted the urge to take another bite. She had promised to keep herself in check. Instead, she savored the lingering taste on her tongue.
"It's incredible... your taste has gotten even better than before," Rize said, astonished.
It had only been about half a month since last time, but she hadn't forgotten the flavor.
Back then, Ryoma's blood had been rich and irresistible — enough to leave Rize in awe.
But now...
This time was even better.
The overwhelming taste made Rize feel like she was getting addicted — completely captivated by his flavor.
