CHAPTER: 14
Chapter 14 – The Little Sorcerer’s Scholar
Lucien himself didn’t expect that one day he would go over to the Greybone Academy’s patrol to claim someone.
‘Lucien Kevin.’ In front of the caretaker’s hut, the caretaker sized up Lucien.
‘It’s me.’ Lucien tried to make his tone seem calmer.
‘Your student, Carly Meyer, violated academy rules last night by having a private brawl with another New Blood ……,’ the caretaker looked at Lucien as he flipped through the dossier he had in front of him. ‘During the period of New Blood, any punishment caused by a student for breaking the Academy’s rules will be borne by the tutor, you should be well aware of this.’
‘I know, I am willing to pay the penalty.’ Lucien took a deep breath, after hearing about the brawl, Lucian was more worried about Carly’s safety than the fine.
The caretaker tapped the table gently, ‘Half a magic stone.’
……
‘Mentor Lucien.’ After returning to Lucian’s lab, Carly drooped her head and looked at Lucian somewhat timidly, knowing that she had gotten into trouble this time.
‘Is there any injury?’ Lucien looked at Carly.
‘No, no……’ Carly said while hiding her fists, and her little face was slightly red from lying.
Lucien glanced at the system panel.
[Health Level]: 98.79% (0.87% minor sprain on left hand, 0.34% minor skin damage on right hand)
‘Alright then, let’s continue the lesson.’ Lucian glanced at Carly with a slightly odd expression, and after making sure that his naive student wasn’t missing an arm or a leg, he didn’t bother with the specifics of last night’s fight.
After all, it was clear from Carly’s state that she hadn’t suffered any losses.
For Lucien, knowing this was enough.
‘Ah …… ugh?’ Carly froze, she hadn’t thought Lucien would put this matter down with such a light sentence.
She had made Mentor Lucien pay for half a precious magic stone!
‘Do you still want me to praise you for not losing in a fight with someone else?’ Lucien seemed to have seen the thoughts in Carrie’s mind, and at this moment, he stretched out a hand in an unfavorable manner and then knocked Carrie’s small head not too gently but not too heavily.
Carrie was knocked by Lucien, but the stone in her heart was completely put down.
Taking advantage of Lucien turning his back, Carly quickly spat her tongue out towards Lucien.
[Your student Carrie has respect for you, respect value +2]
But when she tried to take her tongue back, she found that her tongue seemed to be dragged by invisible hands, and she wanted to take it back but couldn’t.
‘Oooh …… oooh ……’ Carrie was a little flustered at this moment, she tried hard to take her tongue back but it was always difficult to succeed.
Snap-
Lucien snapped his fingers.
Only then did Carly manage to retract her tongue. She closed her mouth, then covered her mouth in death.
‘The core of a sorcerer is spiritual power, and one of the outward manifestations of spiritual power is keen perception, so don’t expect to play any tricks of blackout in front of a sorcerer.’ Lucien stifled his laughter, but he raised a point.
‘Got it.’ Carrie was still covering her mouth, and her voice couldn’t help but become a bit jarred as she spoke.
‘Alright, start the lesson.’ Lucien knocked on the table, ending the little interaction before class.
Teaching continued, and with the help of teaching hints, Lucian was always quick to find a way for Carly to break through her immediate troubles, plus Carly herself took it seriously, so the teaching progressed a little bit more than Lucian had hoped for.
‘Alright, take a break, after the last part of the lecture, we’ll eat.’ Lucien picked up his water cup and gulped down the water inside.
Carrie took Lucian’s water cup with great eyesight.
But soon, her attention was drawn to a nearby sorcery pen floating on a blank tome that kept writing something. ‘Mentor Lucian, what is that?’
‘Oh, that’s the EVERYTHING textbook I’ve prepared for when you study the basic course afterward.’ Lucien casually explained he felt that the most convenient part of sorcery at this time was that he could complete the organization of the textbook with just his thoughts, compared to handwriting and printing before he crossed over, it could be far too convenient.
‘Textbooks?’ Carly was still looking a little confused as she looked at the thick pile of paper at this point.
‘Well, I organized some knowledge points of the basic subjects myself, and after organizing them in one piece, I call it ‘Wizard Little Scholar’.’ Lucien casually said.
‘Sorcerer …… Little Scholar?’ Carrie was a bit bewildered, but she meditatively felt this thing was very powerful.
[Your student Carly has respect for you, respect value +1]
‘Don’t look at it, when you start learning those later, you’ll naturally use it.’ Lucien looked at Carrie and revealed a smile that only those who had come before understood.
‘Oh.’ Carly looked at the sorcery pen that was continuing to write, and didn’t see a reason for it, so she just didn’t think about it.
……
On the other hand, after Yellen walked out of the hut guarded by the caretaker, he saw Norjaan with a cold face.
‘Guide …… mentor.’ Yellen’s face was still a bit red and swollen at this time, and his speaking voice was a bit slurred.
‘You made me lose extra magic stones.’ Norjaan looked at Yellen, his tone of voice flat and cold. ‘According to the principle of equal exchange, it is only right that you should bear this part of the loss.’
Yellen trembled, he naturally knew what he needed to bear.
Last time it was losing his left hand, what to expect next time? A sense of fear and resistance could not help but grow in Yellen’s heart.
However, after meeting Noriaan’s pale yellow eyes, the various thoughts in Yellen’s heart could only be suppressed for the time being, and he bent down with some trepidation. ‘I understand, thank you mentor.’
‘Hmm.’ Noriaan nodded and turned to leave.
‘Bastard! Bastard!’ Only after returning to his residence did Yellen roar twice in somewhat uncontrollable rage, hammering the wall twice with his still intact right hand.
He didn’t dare to pour his indignation onto Noriaan, but he did however give a brainwave of his anger to Carly who fought with some desperation.
‘Bastard ……’ Yellen had a trace of resentment in his eyes, but when he thought that Carly’s mentor was that dying Lucian, his heart balanced out a little.
Because of that brawl yesterday, he almost didn’t get skinned down. Then Carrie, as Lucien’s student, should be in a somewhat worse situation than himself, right?
After all, that Lord Lucien, I heard that in order to treat his injuries before, he even sold all the witching tools that he normally used, and for Carly to make him suffer losses, hmmm, there would be some punishment.
‘When Lucien dies, I’d like to see if you’re still crazy at that time.’ Yellen’s chest rose and fell, secretly sending out his spiteful curs
