Chapter 433: As You Wish (Two in One/The End)_2
"She's still breathing."
"Impressive..." Xu Shuo commented flatly.
Having completed the task and with the grand finale ahead, he already felt a little reluctant to put forth the effort to act.
The reason why Xu Shuo hadn't directly finished off this player was because if the Traveling Poet's scheme failed, this poor little thing would be the next best hope.
The Traveling Poet contemplated, "The fact that she could withstand the corruption from this thing probably stems from the holy aura within her."
Xu Shuo nodded, "After all, this girl is a Holy Maiden from the Holy Court's Choir, Alex, don't you remember?"
The Traveling Poet: "..."
He flipped through the memories of Alex Green's previous life and managed to dredge up the image of that Holy Maiden from the distant past. He couldn't say they were identical, only that Her Highness the Holy Maiden wasn't as crazed.
But when the Holy Court had gone to subdue the Witch, it seemed like the Choir had followed, hadn't they?
He guessed that all of them had been annihilated.
No wonder they wanted revenge in this lifetime.
The Traveling Poet covered the unfortunate Holy Maiden's head with a white towel, then looked up towards the circular platform in the middle of the Black Pool.
The platform was still there, only minus a sword.
The platform was sealed.
The Traveling Poet frowned slightly, "That woman didn't leave? Or did she take the sword with her after opening the door?"
"No."
Xu Shuo shook his head, looking toward the staircase, "The routes in the castle are a bit complicated, she hasn't arrived yet, she's a step behind us."
As his voice fell, the archaeologist emerged from the staircase entrance.
The Traveling Poet: "..."
The archaeologist seeing them: "..."
At that moment, the archaeologist's emotions were so complex that no words could describe them, and even her facial expression nearly twisted, caught between wanting to speak and stopping before finally both parties fell into a prolonged silence.
Even the Traveling Poet didn't know what to say, only reaching out his hand to her, "Give me the sword, let's leave together."
The archaeologist approached begrudgingly and handed over the cross-shaped great sword.

After getting closer, she noticed the female student lying on the ground and couldn't help but speak up irritably, "Why is she here too? Are we supposed to hold a funeral for her as well?"
"No, she's still alive, and she might even be worth trying to save."
The Traveling Poet took the sword, turned, and leaped to the circular platform in the center of the Black Pool, speaking without looking back.
The archaeologist lifted the black towel covering the girl's face and indeed saw she was breathing. Judging by the stickiness of the black towel, it probably aided in some sort of purification.
After some thought, the archaeologist, feeling sympathetic, stuffed a marble into the girl's mouth to suck on.
To persist amid the corrosion of the Abyss, this miss seemed to be as tough as Steward Armand.
Not to mention, from now on, Steward Armand was the benchmark for toughness in her mind.
The archaeologist tried her best to ignore Cerys nearby, but the girl clearly had no intention of letting her off easy, taking out a book with a black leather cover and a sly smile.
"Hmm?" Xu Shuo shook the book.
"..." said the archaeologist.
Damn it! She had been thinking that once she left the Script Space, her Lifebound Item would automatically return, which was tantamount to scoring a free mission!
She never expected that the Traveling Poet had reached an agreement with Cerys; how come this despicable pair hadn't perished on their journey!
Seeing her hesitation, Xu Shuo smiled gently, "I believe you would very much like to stay in Prague Castle to continue your archaeology, right?"
The archaeologist hesitated but reached out her hand.
"You wouldn't want to deceive me, would you?" Xu Shuo smiled again.
"..." said the archaeologist.
She clenched her teeth and, still indignantly, pressed her hand against the book. Without any additional actions or flashy lights, after a while, the archaeologist removed her hand.
"It's done!"
The archaeologist, with a cold face, spoke and then turned away, arms crossed and seething with anger, as if she no longer wanted to see her.
Xu Shuo raised an eyebrow but didn't question further because a system notification appeared before him.
[Special Artifact "Journal of Truth": As a conscientious reporter, it will never lie about anything. It will report the truth of all matters exactly as they are. As long as it happened, as long as you want to know. However, to know the truth, there's always a price to be paid, right?]
A price to pay?
From his previous experiments, it was clear it had something to do with his Spiritual Consciousness.
Xu Shuo didn't use it on the spot, content to store the book in his inventory.
The archaeologist stood aside without a sidelong glance but was actually still peeking. Curiosity got the better of her, and she couldn't help asking, "Where did you put that thing?"
"Why don't you wonder where I put Prague Castle?" Xu Shuo joked.
"..." Illusory Realm?
Contemplating, the archaeologist asked no more.
Then, the Traveling Poet standing on the platform turned to the two of them and said, "We can leave now."
...
When the knight originally dug the tunnel, he certainly never intended to build himself a staircase.
Therefore, the entrance led straight downward, with faint light barely revealing the foundation below, along with mud and rubble. A very slight breeze was also blowing out of the opening.
It seemed it truly led to the outside world.
Even if it didn't, there must be an open exit on the other side.
Clinging to the female student, the archaeologist dropped her down the hole to test the depth; fortunately, the fall wasn't deep.
After all, the knight couldn't afford to dig a tunnel only to fall to his death, or be unable to climb out when Cerys came looking for him.
Xu Shuo couldn't help but remark, "You dug for several years, Alex."
