Chapter 116: Return of the King Slayer pt. 3
Draven flew over the sky towards the sphere building and dodged a barrage of attacks from the cannons. He fell to the ground and his wings shrank back into his back. 'This is what you want isn't it? You want me on the ground so you can trap me in your city?' He thought about looking at the city ready for an attack. Eyes opened up on the street lights. All looking about till they all landed on Draven.
Beams of light shot out like lasers at him. He ran forwards dodging each beam as down every street towards the building was lined with these street lights. His skin then began coated a tight silver armor of scales turning his form into a more humanoid dragon. He then ran forward at top speeds dodging each laser beam that came at him. He even batted one away with his sword. Stumbling upon a way to dispatch the lights. He parried one beam and arched towards another light destroying it. He moved quickly and repeated this process till finally rows of lights exploded up and down a block. He turned a corner and found two tank-like automatons with spider legs and big arms with Gatling guns upon them. He was then fired upon by a rain of bullets.
He took cover and waited for an interval. He charged a ball of light in his hand. When the attack stalled he moved quickly and charged the ball. He then threw it towards the middle of the two automatons and it exploded. It ripped through them in crescent blades destroying them. Draven then walked casually down the street towards the sphere.
He was interrupted as Red Demon and his group were now feet away. "Well if fate couldn't smile on me more?" Draven stated with glee and delight. "Smiling help them through. Get to the king help her get it done" he said to his companion. Smiling gave him a nod and stared at Draven for a few seconds.
The group then left the two alone. "You know that king is merely second to you. I would much rather kill you over him. But I also want to thank you!" He looked like he had madness in his mind with his fangs in a smile and reptilian eyes opened wide. "Thank me?" Red asked with confusion. "I was able to evolve and without you I wouldn't be standing in this magnificent body!" He stretched his arms bearing himself to the world. "That's great. So what? You're a lizard man now?" Draven grinned. "I am a hybrid of Dragon and human!" He said with a cold tone. The Red Demon scowled, "What did you just say?" He asked, confused. "You seem intrigued by that?" His head cocked to the side. 'What's he know of the Dragon folk?' Draven thought. "So that armor you possess? Seems to me that feeling the power of a dragon wasn't just a coincidence?" Red Demon unsheathed Black Brand and Salamander Tail.
"Your a sharp one?" Draven had wide eyes. "Yeah you would be correct. Each Blade favored by the king was given an armor with a celestial beast or soul inside it. So time to test this power to its limits so hope not all the rumors about you were false" he gripped his broad sword and the hilt started to glow bright white. His reptilian eyes staring at Red Demon like a piece of meat. He then shot forward and began attacking Red Demon.
The metal of their swords sparking with each impact. They create quakes across the ground with each clash. Draven and Red Demon used no spells on one another. All they seemed to test with each other was raw strength and speed. Draven was more bestial in his approach hunched over and using his tail as a second weapon. Red Demon however had trained with dragon folk his entire life. Besides friends he was also made to fight them against their will.
When he was twelve when he tried to escape his punishment was a cruel one. He was put in the fighting pit. For two weeks straight he fought former Dragon Warriors that served his grandfather. Each was given a prize if they killed the Red Demon they would go free. Red Demon had to fight for his life and look at each warrior with no emotion to even attempt to fight them.
He felt their pain and sorrow being stripped of their dignity to fight for freedom against a child. A child related to their master no less. It was truly cruel. But for two weeks he studied their skills with each bout and it seemed to elevate his next fight. Dragons utilize all manner of their bodies to fight even with weapons. Their tail is a multiple appendage that is also a weapon. Along with being a tool to long range or to restrain an opponent. He was defended on all sides. With a dragon folk have a strong sense of smell and can sniff chi trails in the air. With smell comes a strong vision that can see far away and even through darkness. Draven was not human essentially anymore. And he was now something else. Dragon Folk never lay with humans so this was the first, or at least this isn't something Red Demon had personally heard of. Even his species had a name being demon and dragon.
Draven however seemed to be adapting to his new body well. He moved with swiftness and precision. Whipping at Red Demon and then slashing with his blade. Red Demon manifested blades from his chi. Floating behind him they attacked Draven creating more angles for him to defend against. He had to keep moving about to parry or block a blade from midair, or his opponent.
Red Demon didn't let up and then stomped creating an quake that threw Draven off balance. From his hand a beam of light shot from his hand. Red Demon quickly dodged and slashed upwards towards Draven's chin. He stepped back and was then stabbed by a floating blade. He turned and parried the next attack. His skin began to glow and his movement quickened. He jumped forward, moving too fast for Red Demon to react. He blocked an attack, but then punched across the face and then slashed across the chest. He kept the wound minimum as he stepped back. A kick was driven into his side and then into his chest sending flying back. He rolled till he came to a stop crashing into a destroyed vehicle.
He groaned in pain as he sat up. 'Son of a bitch broke my ribs' he felt his body healing but slowly. He coughed under his mask as he regained air in his lungs. Felt like needles inside his throat. 'Alright. I've about had it with this bastard' he thought. He sheathed Salamander Tail and then gripped the hilt of the Havoc Flame. He slowly unsheathed it and held both swords tight in his hands. Lightning floods his body full of energy. He moved fast, matching the speed of Draven. They bounced around the area cutting through buildings. Red Demon was able to wound his opponent and with each cut Draven seemed to get slower. His wounds continued to bleed. He backed off and went on defense trying to keep up.
Red Demon moved too fast for Draven to keep up. He was then hit with a bolt of lightning that arched from a swipe of the Black Brand. He felt his chest open up along with being electrocuted from head to toe. He fell backwards off the roof landing on the street below. With blurry eyes he looked up to see Red Demon descending from the sky with both blades pointed down. Draven realized his sword was not in his hand and looked over to see it laying a few feet from him. He outstretched his hand to get it. His opponent was inching closer and closer to him. His body to weak to move time seemed to slow as he saw his impending death.
