The World’s King Slayer

Chapter 113: Revenge

Scarab was at the helm of this tank and was looking through the scope to see in front of them. In front of him were screens showing schematics for the system running the tank. Along with a diagram of the tank itself. Ammo count, elemental artillery, and heavy artillery. He typed at a keyboard and looked through the scope again. They barreled through wrecked vehicles and dead automatons strewn over the streets as they got closer to the palace. Two men sat in the front manning the front machine guns. One of the men turned to look at the Red Demon. Like the others he wore a demon mask. So Red couldnt make out his face, but his body language suggested a question was coming. That was clear from the look of his eyes that Red could see. "So you're the slayer huh?" One of the men asked from the front of the tank. Red Demon shrugged, "Yeah" response was nonchalant and blunt.

"So what realm are you from?" Red Demon pointed to his horns. "You can't tell?" He looked at the masked man with annoyance. "Demon huh? Never met your kind? So is it true that the World chooses anyone to take your spot?" he asked this question with more excitement. Red merely nodded. "From how I understand it?" the man nodded at this. Then turned back around to the front. "What's his deal?" He asked, looking at Scarab with confusion. "We've heard stories about you since the King's Test began. Not many have a description of you which is odd? But anyway the guys here only hear rumors through the network that connects all realms. Maybe they're starstruck?" He said jokingly, laughing at himself. 'Ah yes I've heard of this underground group that uses radio waves enhanced by chi to spread information between all realms.' They were the ones who heard and verified everything. But even they would spread rumors if that meant leading to something. The network was made in hopes of keeping all realms connected and in a way it has. But during the reign of these kings currently ruling they had to go deep underground. Spreading messages of rebellion was already working its way in the realms well before Red Demon came on the scene. He decided to keep that network called Arachne Web in his back pocket in case that would come in handy later on during his travels. "Is that it? You starstruck?" Red asked the man.

"No. Thought you'd be bigger. Meaner looking and more ferocious. You don't seem like that at all" the man stated. Red shrugged, "Guess you'll see" Red left it at that. Scarab looked through the scope "Guys were approaching the stairs, it seems like one knight is making his way through the Tin men? I say we give these assholes a nice greeting" the men loaded a projectile and made ready as the tank came to a stop.

Scarab could see they had gone unnoticed and were in a perfect position. All knights were watching a berserker cut down Tin men left and right. Scarab clenched the controls and waited. After the big man cut down the last one he roared in triumph. Rex looked to be celebrating his victory and the knights all cheered for him. That's when Scarab hit the trigger and the tank rumbled and gave a loud bang.

It hit the celebrating knight exploding him into dust. "LOAD!" Scarab yelled as the men moved about loading the next shell. Scarab took aim and fired at the group of knights all clustered together. "You're up guys I'll provide cover" Scarabs men worked quickly while Red and Smiling went up the hatch. Stood on top of the tank. Red closed the hatch and he scanned the knights zeroing in on Draven.

He then unsheathed Black Brand and then jumped into the air. Smiling followed as they began attacking the knights. Draven was in a daze and could see Red Demon getting closer. He quickly held up his shield and was surprised to see his shield cut in two. He reared back and a gash upon his forearm was left behind. His left arm bleeding he went for his sword and dodged the incoming blade. Red Demon then drove a knee to his side knocking him off balance. Draven tripped over a knight that was downed and rolled backwards getting to his feet. Only to look up at the Black Brand coming at him. He cocked his head to the side and felt the wind from the blade pass his face. A line appeared upon his cheek and began to bleed. 'Son of a bitch wont let me get my bearings' Draven then surged chi through his body and increased his speed to get some distance. Red Demon stomped the ground creating a path of jagged rocks that erupted towards the spot Draven was to land. He had to quickly divert his direction and quickly dodged a spire that scraped past his breastplate.

He fell to the ground and unsheathed his sword. The Red Demon stood staring at him. "Who the fuck are you?" Draven asked standing up. Red Demon's his eyes became deep red along with his horns. He removed his hood, "I'm Red Demon. The King Slayer" he then shot like a bullet moving fast towards Draven who now understood the severity of the situation with those simple words.

Farrah could hear the rumbles and explosions from outside. She stared at the ceiling with her rage apparition floating by her. "So what will you do when they find you?" The dark version of herself asked. "Probably fight I guess. Rather die that way than be executed on my knees" she said. "Hypocrite. You said your fights are done?" Her dark self began to stare at Farrah with a cocked eyebrow. "Perhaps it's my pride that refuses to go down" the apparition began to laugh. "Oh come on Farrah! You're nothing but a raging monster. You don't sit here and self pity! Why need to feed into the rage and bring this palace to its knees! You're being pathetic!" Farrah scowled at the dark version of herself. "Feeding into the rage only brings me trouble and problems I later have to solve! My rage killed my sister. You know nothing! You're only goading me to take control so you can let loose!" She screamed at the apparition. "And yet not using me got you here. Hanging like a fish on a hook. Did you ever think that I'm the one making more sense than you are? You want to sit and wallow over what has happened when you could rectify that very failure. Who led to you killing your sister? Your father. Who led you to take up the mantle of vigilante? Your father. You see where I'm getting at?" Farrah shook her head and then nodded. "Yes I see where you're getting at" Dark Farrah shrugged. "Well then if you see my logic use the fucking Phoenix spell to heal your wounds! And get us out of here!" Farrah looked up at the ceiling as dust fell in small bursts. "You know the bigger question I have to ask you isn't to do this for yourself. Aren't people waiting for you? Isn't the war raging outside going to hurt the people here? Think about it" Farrah blankly stared at the ceiling and scoffed. She thought of the people of this city, Scarab, the crew, and everyone else who followed her.

She closed her eyes and seemed to come to a realization that was crystal clear. "Samantha wouldn't want me hanging here. She would want me to fight" she whispered to herself. She looked forward and the apparition was gone. She then focused and entered her Mind Palace. In her mind sat an island of land with pillars of crystal encircling around a crystal beast in a static roaring pose. It was glowing bright. "Finally saw the reason!" Her voice echoed from the beast statue. "Yes. Thank you. Now let's activate that spell" her ethereal self flew above the crystal pillars. Above runes ignited on the walls of her mind.

Outside her mind her body became engulfed in flames. She focused on coating her entire body. In flames that felt cool upon her skin as she circulated her chi. She began to feel the fire warm her body and blanket it to a comfortable level. She felt her wounds slowly healing. Swear poured from her brow, 'The one I got this spell from wasn't kidding. It takes tremendous chi to do this' she felt tired and exhausted by this process. The spell she used was the Phoenix Spell. A recovery spell for Flame users. It feeds off the soul core to repair the body. After the process the user is weakened. But they are not out, being that the soul core acts as a vacuum after the spell is deactivated where the soul core absorbs chi faster to save itself. Then giving the user recycled power and being able to keep fighting. She had never really tried it till now. And she didn't think at her level she could continue longer. She had raw power at her fingertips. But this spell was a high rank one and for those who were above her in the cultivation ranks. She was only reaching Rank Five and slowly at that.

But she continued on for a few more moments before she had to turn off the spell. She then felt her soul core consume chi from the air and she felt like she could breathe again. She felt somewhat refreshed, but very sore. She then stared down at the chains she maneuvered her hand and then held two fingers to a chain. Her finger tips ignited with a white light. She then began cutting through the metal chain link. It snapped and she could move her hand more freely as the broken chain hung towards the ground.

She continued to repeat the process over and over till she finally had more mobility. She then created a crescent of light at the chain hooked on the ceiling. It snapped and she fell to the ground. She then wiggled her way out of the nest of chains and stretched her body loosening it up.

She then felt the room shake and she glared up at the ceiling. She then looked at the door she then fed on her rage as she felt it surge through her body like molten metal. Her eyes glowing bright she then struck the metal door. It dented in and she retracted her arm and then time gave it more force. The door dented in further and then time she drove a kick into the door sending it flying off the hinge creating a loud bang as it hit the opposing wall.

She then saw Tin men coming down the hall at her. She drove a fist into one stomach and then threw him against the wall. She kicked another coming up to his partner's defense. His body flopped against the wall hard from her kick. She then picked up one's pistol from the ground. Shot them both and began walking down the hall towards her room. 'Time for the Sun Demon to take the stage' she shot a Tin man coming down the hall. He gasped for air as the bullet struck his shoulder. She slowly approached him and then grabbed his head slamming it into the wall.

After this she met no resistance as she made her way to her room. She passed a hall where Tin men were rushing out the front gates. She stealthy moved past them and made for some winding stairs towards her room. She entered the room and walked towards her wardrobe. The front of the palace then exploded, shaking the whole palace.
