Chapter 4: More training...
The pack finally found an opportunity to get home after a rough day of hunt. Everyone had their own tale to tell. But one thing was for sure, they all harboured a great admiration from Tahira. They saw how badly injured she was too, she didn't accept to leave anyone behind. It wasn't like it had not happened before. The hunt leaders would just find a convincing story to tell the pack.
They took the games to the chiefs in the pack, they knew had to make sure it got to everyone. Tahira took it upon herself to take the wolf to the healer. And they knew it was imperative to know how bad the injury was and to find a way to treat her. She hoped too that the healer could make out the kind of animal that attacked the she wolf.
After she left the she wolf under the care of the healer. She went straight home. She knew she needed to have a word with her Father. Having a strong werewolf at the border wasn't good news. She just needed to let her Father know, to find out how bad it was.
The King's Palace..
The King was casually seated on his throne, when Tahira entered looking beaten and worn out. Her Father smirked as he watched her almost limping. This little girl had thought that hunting was an easy task. He was happy that she had gotten her fair share of what it was like, hunting for an entire pack.
"How did the hunt go?" The King asked.
"It was challenging Father" She said with her head bent.
"How many games did you come back with?" he asked again.
"A total of fifteen father."
"Good, good quite interesting." He said and relaxed his back to the throne. He wanted to dismiss her but he noticed she had something else to say.
"A wolf invaded our territory." As soon she said this, the King that had just relaxed his back into his seat almost jumped out of it.
"It was an Alpha wolf I believe, his strength was unimaginable. I think he attacked one of us." she said and let out a breath, before she continued.
"Does this mean war Father?" Tahira asked as she looked at her father to notice that he was almost absent minded. He seemed to be in a state of reverie.
"It means Tahira, that you have outdone yourself for today. Go to your chambers, have a warm bath and have the nurse attend to your injuries. Make sure you have a good night rest." He said and shooed her away.
She was taken aback by the response she got from her Father. That was all? That was all he could say to her after giving out such an important piece of information? She would have sworn that that piece of information was priceless.
"Papa!" She called.
"I'm not a child anymore, how can you not tell me what was happening. I'm your first born child or better still your only child, and I'll get to lead this great pack when you are no more and all you could do is to shoo me to bath and rest? I'm not some vegetable Papa." She said with her chest heaving up and down. She felt really wronged by her Father's inability to see through her abilities. That was why she wanted to go for the hunt. That was why she made sure the hunt was a success. So she could at least, impress her Father to ensure him that she was capable.
"That's enough Tahira! You will go to your room now and you will rest and speak no more about this issue. Now leave!" He said with utmost agitation.
Tahira knew for sure that her Father had made up his mind and that the conversation wasn't heading anywhere, she took a bow and left the palace while banging the door after her.
As soon as she left the King summoned the chief warrior and ordered him to place warriors at both the Northern border and the Southern border. Then he summoned the Seer who immediately arrived at the palace because he sensed the urgency of the summon.
The Seer sat on the floor while the sat on his throne. The both of them were looking at each other meaningfully. It was as if one knew what the other was thinking.
"Do you think he's the one?" The King asked.
In an almost shrieking voice the Seer answered.
"I do not think he's the one, I know he's the one my King. And I believe they've met."
"Why is everything happening so fast, my intention was to prevent them from meeting" The King said.
"I told you my King, their meeting could not be stopped. Stop it from happening in the mountains and it would happen in the valley. Stop it from happening the Ocean and it would happen on Land. It is their destiny my King. It must happen. But, what I'm really shocked about is that they met in a totally different way, than what I had expected.
"She said he furiously attacked her" The King said.
"Yes, I believe he's under a spell." The Seer said.
"But, who would spell bound a werewolf just for no reason." The King asked.
"Someone like you" The Seer said.
"Someone who wants to prevent their meeting. Or someone even worse and more powerful. Their meeting and getting to know each other would really change a lot of things for good. And also, make things bad for some other people. I think they're the ones, working so hard to prevent the meeting. I think they're the ones that spell bound the wolf. The Seer said.
"Keep her safe" the see said lightly before walking to a distance and disappearing into the thin air.
The King summoned Tahira's teacher almost immediately.
"Double Tahira's training classes, if possible triple it." The King ordered.
"Yes my King." Tahira teacher said.
News about the hunt already spread. Some said the princess was attacked and was badly injured, therefore, when the king had summoned Tahira's Teacher, he knew it was related to the hunt. He also wanted to know if the Princess was really as badly injured as they had said she was.
Doubling Tahira's training wasn't the most important thing on his part, he felt the young Laden needed rest; but he couldn't disobey the others of the king.
Tahira entered her bed chambers almost staggering and fell on to the bed with a thud. She was exhausted from all of it; the hunting, the attack and the bickering from her father. She had fresh wounds that needed to be treated, but she knew her worried mother would soon make her way into her bed chambers.
