The Wealthy Man's Wife is His Weakness!

Mina gasps audibly at the realization that she has been used, been betrayed. She had thought that she had to replace her because her body was not clean, but it turned out that she didn't want to commit herself to the touching from the inferior.

The injustice she's facing all because a despicable family took her in and gave her warmth... Damn them all.

Susan folds her arms across her chest, seeing Mina's angry and hurt face with a proud look, "If it were him, how could I not be willing. It didn't look like it was going to be Eric Walters, are you disappointed? Could it be that you really want to be touched by your future brother-in-law? What a revolting woman!" Susan taunts her even further and makes Mina only angrier.

Angry, Mina yanks off the mask she wore over her face after she had seen all of the marks that the man had left behind, wanting so badly to reply Susan but Susan and Greta gasps softly, Greta covering her mouth in surprise but Susan gasps, and then laughs at her derisively.

Mina, realizing, turns peach and puts the mask back on, trying to hold in her anger and embarrassment, her fingers still clenched tightly within her fists.

There are still some blotchy red marks on Mina's neck and lower jaw and one specific red one by her lips, and Susan mocks her upon seeing them. "You whore, it seems like it was quite intense to have sex with that despicable man last night, and he pretended to be steadfast, look at you. So many marks, did you pleasure him well because it looks like he pleasured you quite well. Tell me, how did it feel to have your first night with someone who is of the lowest class?" She finishes and claps her hand in delight.

Looks like she is having fun while making mockery of Mina who had just done the unspeakable for her sake, even if the true purpose of it had been kept a lie till the end.

Mina is uneasy with the insults that just keeps coming. She had been disgusted when she was asked to do such a thing, but even she had not known what it had been really about but still, these duo obviously knew what the check really was. But then, because her mother kept begging so persuasively, how could she not agree? Worse because she had been lied to.

The actions of the Campbell family make her even more disgusted and she stifles the urge to run up the stairs and puke but she knows that Susan will never stop bugging her about it. Her family and the Walters give the impression to have a grudge between them, because no one will want to subject their daughter in law to be to that kind of terrible treatment, and she just became the sacrifice, and Greta lied to her.

"What are you gaping at? You've been eating and drinking in my house for so long, what's wrong with your body already? It might have been unclean by now, is that it?" Susan didn't seem to want to stop insulting and taunting her.

Mina clenches her hands tightly, and the veins on the back of her petite hands are exposed, a subtle flashback to when she had tried to use the same hands to deter the man from touching her the previous night.

Greta glances at Susan, sensing the brewing fight, "Susie, don't say a word to her like that, it is Mina who helped you. Even if you don't thank her, you shouldn't treat her with such a bad attitude, Darling, don't have the same thoughts as your sister. She is just naïve." Greta holds Mina by the wrist, massaging it gently.

Susie, but she is Mina, not Minnie.

Mina breaks her hands free from Greta's and says with a blank face, "I'm going upstairs."

"Okay honey, I will have someone make some soup for you, come down and drink something to nourish your body later."

"Mom, why are you being so nice to her, she's not my sister anyway." Susan mocks her again as Mina walks up the stairs, ignoring the stinging behind her eyes.

"Shut up Susie." Greta glares at her daughter, "If she had told that family that she is not the original one who was to come, your marriage would be over even before it begins! You should appreciate her and what she did for you."

Mina slams the door close, locks the door behind her, letting Greta's voice drown in the background. She had adopted by the Campbell family when she was a child, and the family raised her almost like their own child. She has always treated them with gratitude because she thought they deserved that at least.

At that time, Susan was frail and sickly, so the Campbell family was thinking about adopting another daughter. Susan had always been afraid that Mina would take her place, so she has been very rude to Mina since she was a child.

Forget it, she can forbear for the sake of her parents. Susan has always been unfair to her so she should not be hurt by her own words.

"Yesterday, Mum said good things, saying that if Susan's body is not clean and the Walters find out, the marriage will definitely be called off. I'll do just this for her at least." Mina mutters behind the closed door, wiping her moistened eyes.

Mina couldn't refuse such a mother, even if she exchanged her chastity, it would be regarded as a repayment for the kindness of the family's upbringing. She deems it as one heavy payment for taking care of her for so long.

But the thought kept nagging that she never thought that her mother's real purpose was because she wanted her own daughter to remain unblemished and could not bear her daughter being abused by servants, so she lied so Mina could replace her.

That is the most hurtful part of it all for Mina.

What she is angry and most disheartened with is not the Walters or others, but the deception of her adoptive mother. It seems to her, that she had not been regarded as part the family from beginning till that very point.

It only just got obvious.
