Chapter 4:
Chapter 4: A Man’s Paradise:
The time spent flying with his stunning master always passed too quickly! Ning Jie had no interest in admiring the breathtaking landscapes speeding by beneath him. All he could focus on was the intoxicating scent of his master—light and elegant, with a faint trace of alcohol that was utterly mesmerizing.
The Tianyan Continent was a strange and wondrous world, where mortal empires coexisted with sects pursuing the path of cultivation. The human race dominated this land, but many other powerful races existed as well. The Melodic Sound Sect, where Qiu Yuebai resided, was nestled within Qiyun Mountain in the northern region of the Great Xia Empire.
For thousands of years, there had never been a single man in the Melodic Sound Sect! It was said that the sect rarely involved itself with the outside world, yet every female cultivator who emerged from it was both exceptionally powerful and breathtakingly beautiful, drawing the admiration of countless people. However, all disciples of the Melodic Sound Sect followed a strict path of purity and abstinence, refusing to mingle with worldly affairs.
In other words, they were rarely deceived or mistreated by men!
Yet, in a vast world filled with endless wonders, the Melodic Sound Sect had a longtime rival just a few thousand meters away—Joyous Harmony Sect.
As the Melodic Sound Sect’s long-standing neighbor, the Joyous Harmony Sect was also composed entirely of women, but their philosophy was the complete opposite—they embraced the pursuit of pleasure!
Their entire cultivation method revolved around dual cultivation. If they weren’t in the midst of a session, they were on their way to one.
Beyond their love for dual cultivation, the women of Joyous Harmony Sect had an unusual obsession—they delighted in tempting the women of the Melodic Sound Sect. They despised the holier-than-thou attitude of those so-called righteous cultivators!
Some of them even went so far as to engage in their pleasurable acts right in front of Melodic Sound Sect disciples, just to disrupt their mental states!
Ning Jie had witnessed this firsthand in his previous life, having once had the privilege of visiting the Joyous Harmony Sect.
He had entered weighing 160 jin and left weighing only 120!
That was a memory he could never erase…
In this life, there was no way he was ever going back there.
Well… if he did go, he would first make sure his body was trained to perfection!
The scenery before him suddenly changed—the previously rugged mountain peaks became neat and orderly, the forests looked as if they had been carefully groomed, and white cranes soared through the sky. Waterfalls reflected rainbows in the sunlight, creating the perfect image of an immortal paradise.
Ning Jie set aside his wandering thoughts and took a deep breath of the rich spiritual energy in the air.
Qiyun Mountain was the place he had spent the longest time in this world. Returning here felt like coming home.
In his previous life, he had often thought—if it weren’t for the damn system’s missions and the threat of the destiny-favored protagonist, living a peaceful, secluded life here wouldn’t have been so bad.
But there was just one problem—this world was far too dangerous!
There was always someone stronger. No matter how powerful a person became, there was always someone stronger waiting to surpass them. Even someone as formidable as Qiu Yuebai had eventually fallen—what chance did he have?
For the strong, worldly laws were meaningless.
Survival here followed one rule—only the strong preyed on the weak.
That was why his top priority was completing his mission and returning to Blue Star. That was the only way to ensure his safety.
He had read too many cultivation novels growing up and no longer found the idea of recklessly chasing strength appealing. All that talk about “splitting the heavens with a single sword” or “dominating eternity” sounded impressive, but the slightest misstep could lead to death!
How many people had died along the path of cultivation?
If others wanted to take that gamble, they could go right ahead. Ning Jie had no interest in betting his life on it.
He was just an ordinary person. His ultimate goal was to take it easy and enjoy life.
Qiu Yuebai flew straight toward White Moon Peak, where she resided. Below them, female disciples walked back and forth, dressed in elegant white silk robes. Each one was as beautiful as a celestial maiden.
The setting sun bathed their faces in warm light, making them look even more otherworldly.
Even though Ning Jie had lived here for years in his past life, returning once more still made his heart race.
People often spoke of “one hundred and five men and three women,” a well-known story, but right now, he was a single man surrounded by thousands of women.
And not just any women—each of them was a rare beauty, with grace and charm beyond compare!
This place was truly…
Truly…
A paradise for men!
Just looking at so many beautiful women every day was enough to extend his lifespan and keep him young forever!
Ning Jie couldn’t hide his excitement. The sense of ease and happiness he felt now was incomparable to the tense and cautious life he had led before.
In his past life, sneaking into the Melodic Sound Sect disguised as a woman had been nerve-wracking. He had constantly kept his head down, afraid someone would realize he was a man and expel him from the sect before he could even begin his mission. That would have been a tragic failure before even getting started!
Luckily, no one had suspected him, and he had successfully entered the sect.
Once inside, he had spent all his time figuring out how to get close to Qiu Yuebai and setting up his mission plan.
As for admiring beautiful women?
Who had the time for that?!
A proper man was focused on his ambitions—who had time to admire beauties?
Besides, in his previous life, three years after he joined the sect, the protagonist, Lin Bei, had arrived.
If he hadn’t won over Qiu Yuebai before Lin Bei’s arrival, it would have been too late. As someone blessed with immense luck and the favor of the Heavenly Dao, Lin Bei would have effortlessly conquered Qiu Yuebai’s heart!
By then, everything would have been out of Ning Jie’s control.
Fortunately, through sheer perseverance, he had managed to build a deep bond with Qiu Yuebai before the protagonist ever appeared. By the time Lin Bei arrived, she hadn’t even spared him a glance!
But this life was different.
The system now wanted him to take down the protagonist.
It was his turn to rise up!
As Ning Jie mulled over his thoughts, Qiu Yuebai arrived at her residence on White Moon Peak.
With a soft smile, she gestured to the house in front of them and said, “Disciple, from now on, you will live here.”
Ning Jie glanced around in surprise.
The house was built with blue tiles and white walls, adorned with intricate carvings and elegant decorations. It was lavish, completely different from the simple dwellings of ordinary disciples.
Wait a minute…
Wasn’t this her residence?
Hold on—
Was she asking him to live with her?!
Was he really that lucky?!
Delighted, Ning Jie turned to look at his master.
For some reason, though, her sweet smile seemed a little off. Sensing danger, he cautiously said, “This place is far too luxurious. As a new disciple, I feel a bit uneasy living here.”
Qiu Yuebai’s lips curled into a gentle smile. “There’s no need for concern. This is actually my residence. The space is quite large, and I live alone, so there’s plenty of room. Having you here will make it easier for us to look after each other.”
Ning Jie thought about it and found it reasonable.
Qiu Yuebai had no other disciples, and she disliked noisy environments. White Moon Peak was always quiet, so there was plenty of space.
Might as well stay. Maybe he was just overthinking things.
Seeing him agree, Qiu Yuebai nodded in satisfaction. “Good. Get settled in first. Afterward, come to my room to perform the disciple initiation ceremony.”
With that, she turned and walked away.
Ning Jie watched her leave, puzzled.
Wasn’t the disciple initiation ceremony supposed to take place in the main hall?
Why was she asking him to go to her room?
Alone?
In the dead of night?
A master and a disciple… sharing a room…
This was just too thrilling!!
