The System I Created

Chapter 15: Starting Point

Chapter 15

Waking up to the situation that he created was not new to him; Dane understood what he decided to do and knew what outcome would manifest from it afterward. Being isolated and focusing on just one thing wasn't a choice for him; he thought it was something he had to do, a feeling that needs to be addressed and give him the proper structure that his mind wants to achieve.

It may look normal, but Dane had to live a life where structure and routine were essential for his mental well-being. Without it, he felt lost and overwhelmed by the chaos of his own making. This realization drove him to make a conscious effort to prioritize structure in his daily life, even if it meant sacrificing some spontaneity.

He might act and look normal, but in his mind the emotions he gained were lacking. He views all current emotions as a product of complex and often turbulent experiences and are not simply a reaction to the world around him, actively created by a sophisticated interplay within his mind. Dane always assesses his action, seeing that he does not want to relive his past mistakes. Learn that emotions can truly ruin a person if not managed effectively. Dane strives to maintain control over his emotional responses by carefully analyzing his thoughts and actions. By recognizing the impact of past experiences on his current emotions, he is able to prevent them from negatively influencing his behavior and decision-making.

After deciding to follow his intentions before anything else, Dane takes a step back to consider the circumstances calmly before acting. He is able to make more sensible decisions and steer clear of prior mistakes thanks to this careful approach.

Seeing the notification and the amount of bounty he gained was something he expected; this will free him from the financial problem he was currently facing. These people already lost their chance to gain repentance and forgiveness as they never showed any remorse in their actions.

So their sin remained. And the only answer was to sentence them to death. In this manner, Dane gave the victims the proper closure they deserved. This allowed them to move forward and heal from the harm that had been done to them. The perpetrators, on the other hand, face the one thing they truly deserve.

The money he gained was not that something he wanted to gain pride from. Hunting criminals was not his best option, but knowing this was a legal and just way to serve justice made it all worth it for him. Dane believed that every criminal deserved to face the consequences of their actions, and he was willing to do whatever it took to ensure that happened. He hardened his heart and took out his empathy.

He still needs a few more to get an association plane ride to the tower of chaos. The ticket bound to the tower wasn't normal; the continent-size land where the massive tower rose up and changed the world is filled and overflowing with chaos energy. the very nature bent to the towers massive presence, warping reality itself. The seas that surround the place are known to be unpredictable, with waves that can reach towering heights and currents that change direction in an instant. So the massive payment wasn't dedicated to the plane; it was for the spellcasters accompanying the passenger and protecting the military-grade aircraft.

These spellcasters main task was to protect the plane from the tower's erratic energy. Their magic shields were essential to ensuring a safe journey through the turbulent skies surrounding the tower. Without their expertise, the plane would be at risk of being consumed by the chaotic forces emanating from the tower.

Dane was now sure that the criminal players with bounty will surely have consequences, but it was within his calculation; all the factors were considered, and time will tell when this reprecaution will happen, so he still has time to adjust and prepare. Dane was delighted to see how Miko adapted so well to his decision; she even made additional contributions that improved the overall plan.

With her quick thinking and resourcefulness, which he needed, he missed the noise and the busy sound of people going on with their day. Dane saw registered ability users or players and ordinary people interacting with each other. The event that he started created a ripple effect that created a new sense of hope in the atmosphere; many players were naturally good, but malice and wickedness had their way into my heart and mind.

A lot of people fall victim to this; change is inevitable, which is why people can easily change their minds due to external influences. If a person's mind is weak and they don't have control over their own life, these changes will lead to corruption and the easy occurrence of one of the seven deadly sins.

Death is not inherently evil, thus it is crucial to maintain our vigilance and moral compass in order to withstand the temptation toward evil and malice. Death is just a normal part of life's cycle, although many people view it as the ultimate conclusion.

Since it violates the core principle of honoring life, killing another being was regarded as a serious sin in many civilizations and religions. However, people tend to forget that as sentient beings with the capacity for both good and evil, our life is complicated and varied, and that killing pleasure and sating hunger in order to appease those seven sins is a reflection of our own internal conflict and hardships. And the only way to save those individuals is to die.

Dane came to this conclusion as his father was a soldier, and he was mentioning that there is a difference in killing to save or protect another's life. A tiger that kills to feed itself is not evil because it is acting out of survival instinct, whereas a human who kills for pleasure or greed is making a conscious choice to harm others.

Dane stood up and took a quick shower; the hotel room he was renting luckily had a decent shower. It might look old and worn, but the water pressure was strong and the temperature was just right. As he dried off, Dane couldn't shake the weight of his father's words about the difference between killing out of necessity and killing for personal gain. The criminal players that died by his hands never saw him; they died in a violent manner, but he made sure they didn't feel any pain at all.

Dane assessed himself after every kill; he wanted to know if he was one of those fools thinking he was obtaining justice by feeding his own delusions of grandeur. and feels satisfaction in killing.

The reason was clear, and he felt nothing; what he gained was more of a sense of duty fulfilled rather than personal satisfaction. Dane knew he had a job to do, and he did it with precision and detachment, focusing solely on the task at hand.

Either way, he intends to take note of all his actions; he did want to have a normal life, but his actions already contradicted this.

He left the place he had leased and went to get a bite to eat. The landlord didn't know Dane was a player and could keep items in his own dimensional storage, so he only took what he was wearing with him when he went down. He left in a nonchalant manner while the elderly landowner, who was reading his morning newspaper in his tiny improvised cubicle, looked at him glumly. The old man didn't even answer, but Dane simply nodded in response.

The worn down rentable rooms was five blocks were the association player branch was located, the distance was I few minutes , but because the area was filled with so many different type and variations of stores, many people gather in the place as it was the best place to buy low priced item whether it might be items or food,

The industry in processing raw materials that came from the tower is gaining significant tractions, the issue surrounding on how to bring the material from the tower to the human realm was a bit tedious, as it can only be done if the gate keeper would allow it, the only gate of the huge tower is manage by a very proud mystical race .

The first floor is divided into and facilitated by eight powerful kings and queens, these prideful and mysterious rulers control the flow of materials and food from the tower to the human realm. Their strict regulations and selective permissions make it challenging for outsiders to access the valuable resources within the tower. as they controls every aspect of the first floor based on their specific territories.

So being a merchant that holds a certain amount of connection and influence to these eight is sure to gain power and authority to pass products in and out of the tower's first floor. But because his tower presence was just a year old on earth, only three merchant guilds had the opportunity to gain said blessing or acknowledgment from one or a few of these royalties.

These are the Gold Miracle Guild, which imports and exports raw materials, like food supplies and building materials; the Silver Star Guild, specializing in luxury goods and rare items; and the Nexus Merchant Guild, which deals with technological advancements and magical artifacts.

and lastly the GHH Syndicate that delves into so many transactions they might not be that rich, but their manner of interacting with these royals is far more reaching than the other corporations.

The other three merchants might boast in wealth and influence, but the GHH Syndicate's widespread connections and strategic alliances make them a formidable force in the realm of commerce. Their ability to navigate complex political landscapes and broker deals across various sectors sets them apart from their competitors. As they are not just supplying raw material to sell and to buy, they also give the royals the opportunity to hire their elites as contract mercenaries and security consultants, further solidifying their position as a key player in the tower's economy. Their multifaceted approach to business not only secures their own hidden success but also enhances the power and prestige of the royal families they serve.

GHH Syndicate is so secretive the only thing that identifies them is through their markings on their dorsal hand. Their dealings with these royals are so secret that nobody knows how they actually do it. Many dared to imitate the GHH Syndicate's methods, but none have been successful in replicating their level of influence and success. The mysterious nature of the GHH Syndicate only adds to their allure and reputation as enigmatic power players within the tower's elite circles.

These 4 guilds have established themselves as key players in the tower's economy, leveraging their connections with the territorial royalties to secure lucrative trade deals and exclusive access to resources. Their success has solidified their positions within the tower, making them formidable competitors for any new merchant looking to establish themselves in this cutthroat environment.

Dane saw so many new materials being sold in the commercial stores he was walking on; he noticed that most players like to drag their equipment and attire as it holds significant allure to those who were lower levels than them, a typical gamer attitude. Even after all the world-changing scenarios, mankind could still not remove these materialistic tendencies ingrained in their now real virtual personas.

The world was now like a nonstop cosplay convention., as everybody was now living in a lifestyle of constant competition and comparison, where status was determined by the latest gear and accessories. and supernatural power abilities were added to the list of social segregation. Unlike in the virtual game, leveling up your game avatar took place as you advanced toward the game; being rich gets the opportunity to level up faster as they could buy artifacts and equipment.

But now when the tower of chaos came to reality, the only way to level up was to earn experience points and pay a huge fine to enter the numerous cathedrals all over the royal respective dominion. The most visited was the nearest cathedral in the empire of Solnara Cererindur, with five million residents, ten miles southeast from the tower entrance. Under the rule of King Deryth Cererindur and his wife, Queen Nimriel Cererindur, and consorts Maisha Cohnal and Aranel Finrod.

Even with the massive influx of materials, obtaining said materials is rather hard to acquire. Because gold is the only acceptable monetary currency inside the tower, that's why the plane ticket going there was expensive. Dane saw many players that haven't entered the tower have the same issue as a plane ticket costing 100 gold coins, equivalent to a million dollars.

If the bank that handled his salary hadn't abruptly frozen his account and eventually and suspiciously wiped out all of his funds, Dane would have been able to afford the ticket easily. It should have been a simple task. Dane was forced to look for other means to pay for his trip to the tower after this unanticipated setback.

Seeing many players are in the same situation was more than enough reason to gain more information about the new social norm after waking up from his regenerative slumber. Watching the news from his computer skills wasn't enough to truly fill in the gaps that he missed within that entire year in the flow of information. Nothing beats actually experiencing the situation firsthand.

The entire block he passed by was filled with so many people as these stores sell products supposedly from the tower. But the assurance that it's real is another question. Dane's ability to sense and see mana was actually helpful as he could see what items really came from the tower.

Sadly, nearly none of the stores and establishments he came across were selling real products.

Dane reached the last store that, coincidentally, was right across the street from where the player association registration facility was located. More people were still lining up, hoping to gain some recognition from the association. The total amount of players was estimated to be around two billion, reflecting the same amount of those who played the virtual game of Arcane Crusade, so there was no short demand for awakened players.

Natasha Sokolov, the vice captain of the White Devil guild, returned to the facility to recruit new awakened players to work for their organization, but it was difficult to find a suitable candidate because other guilds were doing the same. Dane intends to carry on his night search, but the news recently made many criminals aware that they were being targeted by a group due to the bounty on their heads.

Dane was scanning the area, and sadly, his targets relocated and moved further away from where he was. The bounty he gained from those he eliminated was not enough; based on his calculation, the current amount he has is enough or equivalent to just 14 gold coins. And being a member of the Lazarus clan, getting hired by another guild is impossible; as soon as they saw his surname, they just backed down and moved on.

And another matter came to his attention: getting the ticket is only achievable at the association itself. So exposing his identity would be exposed to the association personnel. Until he saw a few players that were wearing masks covering their faces, so Dane crossed the street and went to the association to gather more vital information. Seeing so many players in one location, most of them were newly registered players, and others were tower returnees to flex their achievements and to increase their status as a player.

The building was bustling with activity as a multitude of people filled its spacious halls. The interior of the building remained unchanged, with its usual tidy and professional atmosphere. Staff members, easily identifiable in their association uniforms, were busy attending to their respective tasks with diligence and efficiency. It was very much like any other human resource office building, with the hum of productivity and the air of purposeful activity permeating the space.

Interestingly, the connecting training facility that the protagonist and his cousin had previously damaged was still undergoing renovation. The area was fenced off, and workers could be seen busily working to restore it to its former state. The destruction that had once occurred there now seemed like a distant memory, as the facility was being transformed into something even better than before.

It was clear that despite any disruptions or setbacks, the organization was committed to moving forward and continuing its operations without missing a beat. Those who could sense mana saw many new registering applicants as novices, but Natasha Sokolov and a few of her members noticed the same person that ruined the sparring octagon ring just a few days ago. A lone Lazarus came back without anybody accompanying him, which was a peculiar thing to see. It was something she never expected. As she activated her skill, Dane mana was nowhere to be seen; he was mana less. This Natasha Sokolov is annoyed because she knows he was using a high-grade artifact to hide his power level. As Lazarus Clan members are known to be very cunning and hide their real level

Those who had no idea who it was just continued their normal activities. When a new member of the white devil saw that their sub captain was looking at him, thinking Dane might have done something against their leader, as Dane doesn't look much like he was slender and weak-looking, he has zero fighting experience at all.

Adam, a level 15, and his main skill was a brawler or a melee fighter, went toward Dane to ask him concerning the reason why their sub captain was staring at him. Adam's action was met with a surprisingly negative response from Natasha, but it was too late; Adam made his move and was able to reach Dane within a few steps. The confrontation was sure enough; Adam wanted to gain attention, but Natasha was sure this unwanted action would end up against them.

She wanted to de-escalate the situation before it got out of hand, but Adam's determination was evident as he stood face to face with Dane. Natasha knew she had to intervene quickly before things turned violent. But what came next was beyond her comprehension. As she took her first step, she felt a massive killing intent that made her hesitate for a fraction of a microsecond. Adam just stood silently as the man he was talking with just casually walked away.

Natasha reached him and grabbed his shoulder and addressed him in a manner like he made a big mistake; as he turned around, Adam's face was pale, and cold sweat was dripping from his forehead. "Adam, what just happened?" Natasha asked urgently, her heart racing with fear. Adam's eyes darted around nervously before he finally whispered, "That man... he's not human."
