The Strongest Assassin of the Zoldyck Family!

Chapter 142: Chapter 142

Ron glanced at Sally, seated beside him. She had fully embraced the new identity he had crafted for her. Sally now saw Ron not only as a friend but also as her saviour. (t/n not gonna lie, this is a little messed up)

To prevent the world mafia from recognizing her appearance, Ron had made thorough preparations.

First, Sally's clothing style was completely altered.

Next, she donned special contact lenses.

Her hair was cut short, and with Ron's Zoldyck training in altering appearances, her facial features were subtly adjusted.

The result? Even those who knew Sally well wouldn't recognize her now. To strangers, she was entirely unremarkable.

Sally herself, having lost her memory, had no way of slipping up or exposing her identity.

#### Arrival at Sky Arena

Two days later, the airship landed, and Ron reached his destination. With only ten percent remaining to complete his mastery of observation, all Ron needed to do was wait and let time do its work.

At Sky Arena, Nina's life had resumed its familiar rhythm, split between two activities: battles and training.

Because she avoided using Nen during fights, her climb through the floors wasn't particularly fast. However, to many, Nina was already regarded as a young prodigy.

Several dojos extended invitations, hoping to recruit her as a disciple, but Nina ignored them all. She trusted only Ron.

Meanwhile, Shizuku's life was far more monotonous. Unlike Nina, who had a clear goal, Shizuku had none. Her days revolved around eating, resting, and repeating.

Given her experiences in Meteor City, Shizuku found this lifestyle fulfilling. "Being well-fed and rested—what more could I ask for?" she often thought.

But Nina couldn't stand it. Seeing her aimlessness, Nina dragged Shizuku into training sessions, hoping to instil some purpose.

#### A Fruitless Hunt

At the Zoldyck estate, deep in an underground room, Milluki sat surrounded by humming computer fans as heat waves radiated from the machines.

"Still nothing?" Milluki grumbled, scratching his head furiously.

The Zoldyck family rarely failed their assassination contracts, yet the world mafia's bounty on Dantings had proven frustratingly elusive.

"Just a mid-level mafia operative," Milluki muttered. "Not even a top brass. This shouldn't be so hard."

With his newfound confidence from learning Nen, Milluki had expected the task to be straightforward. The reward of 200 billion Jenny was too enticing, even after splitting it with Ron.

Despite his efforts—spending money and exhausting every channel—Milluki had uncovered nothing. Dantings seemed to have vanished.

"What if Ron loses patience and starts nagging me? How embarrassing would that be?" Milluki gulped down a large swig of soda and stuffed his mouth with chips. "No, I have to find something soon!"

#### Ron's Leisurely Stroll

Meanwhile, Ron wandered the streets like a true tourist. Stopping at shops, he browsed items and occasionally made purchases if the prices felt right.

His main focus, however, was on food.

Every region has its culinary specialities, a universal truth across the world. Though not a gourmet hunter, Ron appreciated good food. Who could resist the allure of delicious flavours?

Sally followed closely behind, afraid of losing him.

"Ron, when are we going home?" she asked, her voice tinged with eagerness. Having accepted the new identity Ron had given her, Sally was impatient to return and rediscover her life through familiar surroundings.

"Just a few more days," Ron replied, glancing at the crystal orb in his hand. Its progress bar had reached 95%. Only 5% remained to complete his task.

#### The World Mafia's Investigation

In a conference room, a middle-aged man stood before ten screens, each displaying one of the Ten Dons. He bowed as he reported.

"The Yorknew attack has been fully investigated.

"The attackers were remnants of the Republic of Gorteau. Four individuals were involved that night. Three have been captured, and one escaped. We currently have no information on the escapee."

He continued, "As for Dantings…"

The man hesitated briefly.

"All data from Experimental Base No. 2 was destroyed, but restoration efforts are underway. So far, 13% of the data has been recovered.

"Out of over 2,400 experimental subjects, 2,120 were killed, 233 captured, and a little over 100 escaped. Some remain hidden in the corners of Aurean, while others have fled the region."

The Ten Dons responded with a unified roar of anger: "Useless!"

The middle-aged man clenched his fists but remained silent. He understood the gravity of the losses suffered by the mafia. However, he doubted anyone else could have handled the situation better.

#### Completion

Six days later, as Ron wandered the streets, he abruptly stopped.

Sally, startled, asked, "Ron? What's wrong?"

"Nothing," Ron replied with a smile, but inwardly, he let out a long sigh of relief.

"Finally, it's done."

Even though he had now fully absorbed the traits of the world mafia, Ron didn't immediately return to the hotel. Instead, he continued his leisurely stroll, eventually taking Sally to a nice restaurant for dinner.

Only after the meal did they head back to the hotel. Ron had reserved a suite with two rooms—one for himself and one for Sally.

"Get some rest. Tomorrow morning, we're going home."

"Okay." Sally nodded, a hint of excitement lighting up her face.
