34: The Divine Cat, Mii-chan, Gives the Horse a Name
It feels like today has been extremely busy. After that, I dove into guild work and before I knew it, the bell was ringing for eight o’clock. I’m completely exhausted.
“Wow. Really appreciate your hard work. I’m going to be able to spend some quality time with my daughter tonight, thanks to you.”
It seems Henry is quite the doting parent.

I replace the water in the bucket with fresh mineral water and put in a whole bottle. I also add fresh feed to the neighboring bucket. I’ll come back tomorrow morning.
On my way back, I had dinner at a different restaurant next to the inn, but it was rather disappointing… I really need to find a better place to eat.
The next morning, after having breakfast with Mii-chan at the neighboring restaurant, picking up the laundry, and putting it in the room, I head to the Hunter’s Guild.
I check on the horse at the stables, but it seems to be in the same condition as last night.
The water bucket is almost empty. When I add the mineral water to Mii-chan’s bowl, she starts drinking it on her own. I put two cans of cat food on the plate and she starts eating it on her own as well.
Since the weather is nice today, I’ll let the horse enjoy some sun outside the city. Of course, even though it’s just outside the city, I’ll keep a close watch to avoid any monster attacks.
I walk with Mii-chan on the horse’s back, leading it to the gate. I show my Hunter Guild staff ID to get outside. Once outside, I plan to let the horse off the lead.
After reaching the gate, I remove the lead from the horse, which remains calm and follows me closely. The horse has a very intelligent look in its eyes, and it stays right behind me as I walk.
I leisurely enjoy the stroll, which might be the first time I’ve had such a relaxing walk since coming to this world. But that was only until we reached the opposite gate of the city…
By the time we reached the gate on the other side, I was completely exhausted. I had forgotten how low my stamina was…
The horse still looks like it wants to move more, so I decide to let it roam freely. I make sure it stays within my line of sight and then release it. Mii-chan stays with me.

Leaning against the city wall, I drink the mineral water, feeling revitalized.
Since I’ve been calling the horse “horse” all this time, maybe it’s time to give it a name?

After a while, the horse returned, seemingly satisfied. I gave it water and a bottle of mineral water to drink.
“I’m thinking of giving you a name. After consulting with Mii-chan, how about Violet?”
The horse looked at me and Mii-chan, then nuzzled against us. It seems like it likes the name.
Returning to the Hunter Guild’s stable, I washed Violet and then used an air skill to dry her quickly. It’s really convenient. I put new feed and water in the buckets, and then headed to the guild’s tavern with Mii-chan for lunch.
“This is the first time I’ve been this busy outside of the night hours.”
The cat beastkin waitress was bustling around, attending to customers. Unlike yesterday, it was a big hit today. Just as expected.
It seems that the guild staff members are coming in shifts to eat, and there are also a few general customers mixed in with the hunters.
“I’ll have the recommended set meal.”
I gave Mii-chan her cat food and mineral water. She sat and waited patiently. Mii-chan is such a good kitty.
Soon, the food arrived. It included yesterday’s pilaf with meat cooked in garlic oil, along with soup and salad. Quite a generous portion.

Feeling full, I decided to go for a run to work off some of the food. Not having much stamina is a fatal flaw, so I need to improve my general fitness as quickly as possible.
Mii-chan decided to join me. I hung my bag on the fence near Violet and ran around the training grounds. Being stopped and questioned by an instructor along the way was just part of the fun.
Mii-chan seems to have shifted to training with the hunters midway through, but from the sidelines, it just looks like play. Mii-chan is moving well, but the hunter she’s sparring with seems to have the upper hand.
Since I can’t go to work covered in sweat, I decided to head to the communal bath.
At the communal bath, I approached the reception desk and saw the same lady from before.
“Oh, it’s you again from the other day. Do you want the whole service today too?”
“Yes, please.”
“And little kitty is with you too. Oh my, she’s quite dirty. Would you like me to wash her?”
