Chaos erupted in the mansion's training grounds as the Hand's ninjas poured through shattered windows and secret passageways, their precision and discipline evident in their calculated assault. Scott Summers-Cyclops-stood at the forefront, his leadership tested like never before. Behind him, Logan, Laura, and Colossus formed a solid defensive line, shielding the younger students who were gathered in a panicked huddle.
"We hold this line," Scott barked, his voice sharp and commanding. "Logan, take the left! Colossus, the right! Laura, cover the back and make sure no one slips through!"
Logan grunted, his claws sliding out with a familiar metallic sound Shink!. "Ain't my first rodeo, Summers. Let's cut these freaks down to size."
Colossus, his body shimmering in its organic steel form, gave a resolute nod. "The children are safe with us.No one will lay a hand on them."
Laura crouched low with her claws glinting menacingly, as she let out a feral growl. She scanned the room with keen eyes, her heightened senses picking up the stealthy movements of the ninjas attempting to flank them. "I'll rip them apart before they even think about it."
Scott glanced over his shoulder, his visor gleaming ominously. "Focus, people. This isn't just about protecting the kids; it's about showing these attackers what happens when they mess with us."
Hyyyyyaaaaahhhh! With a sharp cry, the fight began in earnest as the ninjas charged with their swords flashing. Logan met them head-on, his claws slashing through their ranks with brutal efficiency. Blood sprayed as he carved a path through the ninjas and the metallic tang of it filled the air. "Come on!" Logan roared, a wild grin on his face. "Let's see how much you can take!"
Colossus was an immovable force on the right flank. The ninjas' swords shattered harmlessly against his steel skin as he swung his massive fists, sending attackers flying into walls with bone shattering force. "You will need more than toys to break me!" he bellowed, his thick Russian accent cutting through the chaos.
Laura was a blur of speed and precision. Her smaller frame allowed her to slip through the chaos, her claws slicing through the ninjas with surgical accuracy. "Too slow," she muttered as she disarmed one attacker and eviscerated another in the same fluid motion. She darted toward the rear of the mansion, ensuring no one slipped through.
For a moment, the battle seemed endless. It was then that the air grew heavier, and a new figure stepped into the fray. Emerging from the chaos was a figure clad in shimmering silver armor and wielding a massive energy blade. His glowing red eyes locked onto Cyclops with chilling intent.
"Stryfe!," Scott muttered, recognizing the clone's imposing figure.
"Summers," he snarled, his voice dripping with malice. "The great leader of mutants. Today, you will kneel before me."
Scott's jaw tightened. "Not in this lifetime."
Stryfe charged, his blade cutting through the air with terrifying speed. Scott barely managed to sidestep swing and countered with an optic blast that sent the clone staggering. "Logan, cover the kids!" Scott shouted as he advanced on Stryfe.
"On it!" Logan growled, cutting down a wave of ninjas trying to get to the students.
Stryfe recovered quickly, his armor absorbing most of the damage. "You're weak, Cyclops. Always hiding behind your team." He swung his blade again, and Scott barely ducked in time.
"I'd rather have a team than an army of mindless puppets," Scott shot back, firing another optic blast. This one hit its mark, cracking Stryfe's armor.
Laura, meanwhile, noticed the tide of ninjas growing thicker. She snarled in frustration. "We need reinforcements. I' m going to get Hank and Forge," she called to Scott.
"Be quick," Scott replied, dodging another swing from Stryfe.
Laura sprinted through the mansion, her claws slicing through any ninja that got in her way. She reached the lab and found Hank McCoy and Forge engrossed in monitoring the mansion's automated defenses.
"We've got a Stryfe clone and a small army of ninjas tearing through the mansion," Laura said bluntly. "We need you. Now."
Forge grabbed his plasma rifle without hesitation. "Remind me to get this alarm fixed in the lab. Let's go ".
Beast adjusted his glasses and grabbed a pair of shock gauntlets. "Let's not keep them waiting."
As they made their way back, Laura detoured briefly to find Deadpool. She kicked open the door to his room, only to find him lounging on his bed, his mask rolled halfway up as he watched a particularly inappropriate scene on his tablet.
"Seriously?" Laura growled. "We're under attack, and this is what you're doing?"
Deadpool shrugged, not even looking up. "Hey, it's called multitasking. I'm gathering inspiration for my next encounter. Sadly, I don't have a third hand to hold my third sword for this orgy party."
Laura groaned in disgust. "Get your hammers and move it."
Deadpool sighed dramatically and grabbed his twin long-handled hammers. "Fine, fine. Beatrix and Blossom were just itching for some action anyway."
By the time Laura, Beast, Forge, and Deadpool rejoined the fight, the mansion' s defenses were beginning to falter.
Logan was bleeding but still standing, his claws dripping with blood. Colossus had taken a few hits but remained steadfast, his massive frame blocking any attempts to reach the kids.
Scott was still locked in battle with Stryfe, both of them showing signs of wear. "Took you long enough," Scott said as Laura and the others arrived.
Forge smirked. "Relax, Summers. The cavalry's here."
With the reinforcements in place, the tide began to turn. Beast used his shock gauntlets to disable groups of ninjas in quick succession, while Forge's plasma rifle tore through the enemy ranks.
Deadpool, true to form, waded into the fray with a combination of absurd humor and brutal efficiency. "This is for interrupting my me time!" he shouted, smashing a ninja's skull with Beatrix.
Stryfe, seeing his forces dwindling, roared in frustration. "You think this is over? You've only delayed the inevitable!"
Scott finally managed to land a direct hit with a full-powered optic blast, sending Stryfe crashing into a wall. The clone struggled to rise, his armor sparking and his blade shattered.
"This is over," Scott said firmly, his visor glowing ominously.
As the remaining ninjas realized they were outmatched, they began to retreat.
They dragged the unconscious Stryfe clone with them, disappearing into the shadows as quickly as they had arrived.
Logan sheathed his claws, panting heavily. "Well, that was fun."
Colossus placed a reassuring hand on Scott's shoulder. "You did well, my friend."
Scott nodded, his expression grim. "This was just the beginning. They'll be back."
Deadpool wiped blood off Beatrix and Blossom, muttering, "Next time, I'm bringing popcorn. This show needs better special effects."
The team regrouped, the children safe and the mansion still standing. But as Scott looked around at the tired but determined faces of his team, he felt he could beat whatever or whoever that comes against them.
