Chapter 336: Bizarre Day

"Hey, Homura-kun..."

Nozomi smirked and turned to Homura with a teasing grin, making Eli uneasy.

"Everyone says it's a no-go, y'know?"

'Why are you calling on me for this? I'm not involved, for fuck's sake!' Homura thought helplessly, his expression darkening.

"Okay, calm down. I'm just playing around." Elf said with a happy smile. "I know nobody would agree with that suggestion anyway. I just wanna see your reactions, and now, I'm satisfied!"

She was truly delighted seeing their amusing reactions.

Most girls' attention shifted to Elf, yet Nozomi remained unfazed, still looking at Homura with a teasing grin.

"Nobody would agree, eh~? What about you, Homura-kun?" Nozomi asked with a teasing tone.

*Whoosh!*

In an instant, all eyes were back on Homura.

Homura could bet that Nozomi was definitely enjoying this.

"Why don't you ask Kirisu-sensei...?" Homura passed the buck.

'Ask me? Why me?!' Mafuyu thought in panic, and with reluctance, she spoke up. "Of course... I'm afraid I... have to disagree..."

"Now that Kirisu-sensei has said her part..." Nozomi looked at Homura with delight. "Now it's your turn, Homura-kun."

Homura couldn't help but roll his eyes.

Of course, it was still him in the end!

Why did it feel like everything unsaid and understood among everyone was completely disrupted the moment Mafuyu showed up today?

Was it because Mafuyu gave them such a strong sense of threat or something?

However, now that it was all out in the open, maybe it wasn't a bad thing.

Except for Mafuyu, he had spent about two months with everyone here, so they all knew each other pretty well.

Sometimes, being more open might actually help.

"Of course, there's no way I'd agree to something like that..." Homura answered helplessly.

"Oh? Really?" Nozomi raised her eyebrows.

"I've told several of you before—I won't lie to you." Homura continued with a calm expression. "If there's ever something I really can't talk about, I'd rather stay quiet than lie to you."

I've told several of you before?

At this moment, those who didn't know about Homura's earlier conversation with Megumi were starting to piece things together, especially the keenest ones, like Nozomi and Fumino.

Honestly, who had never lied before?

More importantly, what would make a man avoid lying to women specifically?

Nonetheless, according to what Homura had said and several clues here and there, were all of them his targets?

Nozomi, Fumino, and several others began to realize the situation.

However, if that were the case, Homura was truly a greedy man, though it wasn't exactly unexpected.

It was honestly impressive how he managed to treat everyone the same way as always since most of them were well aware of how much they could charm the opposite sex.

Being able to stay so steady and calm despite all the temptations coming at him, did he really want to build a harem?

Everyone reacted differently to Homura's answer, each lost in their own thoughts.

Mafuyu, on the other hand, strangely felt a twinge of disappointment.

Why did he disagree to share his room with her?

Did he not find her attractive?

In this silence, Eriri suddenly spoke up.

"Yeah, you did say that, but..." Eriri nodded, then looked at Homura with a hint of suspicion. "Why don't you agree?"

"I really want to, but I can't..." Homura shook his head. "I know it's kind of contradictory, but that's really how I feel."

"Want to, but can't...?"

Elf muttered, glancing at Homura and then at Mafuyu, before saying something shocking.

"Homura, are you afraid you won't be able to control yourself?"

""Pffft!""

Hearing Elf's absurd question, everyone choked.

Wasn't she too blunt?

"Bruh, your words today are on par with Mashiro's in terms of shock..." Homura remarked with a speechless expression.

"Homura, can't you control yourself?" Mashiro asked.

Hearing this, Homura's face was full of black lines before he quickly raised his index finger and began to explain.

"One, after what Kirisu-sensei just went through, do you really think it's a good idea for her to sleep in the same room with a guy?"

"Two... okay, I admit, I'm afraid I won't be able to control myself. Seriously, isn't it normal for a healthy guy to be like that? Who can stay calm sleeping in the same room with a beautiful woman?"

"Three, even if I manage to control myself, how do we avoid overthinking? With Kirisu-sensei and me alone in the same room, we'll inevitably be nervous or something and end up unable to sleep, right?"

Homura's reasons truly made sense.

Instead of helping Mafuyu sleep, Homura might end up causing her insomnia, right?

Moreover, didn't Mafuyu have work tomorrow?

Understanding this, the girls were a bit surprised that Homura had actually given so many valid reasons.

"Well, you're right..." Eriri said, her lips twitching.

"Of course, I'm right." Homura shrugged.

"Nii-san, how long are you going to keep talking?" Sagiri chimed in while rubbing her stomach.

"Yeah, let's eat first." Homura stood up and rolled up his sleeves. "Can anyone give me a hand? If I do it alone, it'll probably take too long."

In the end, Megumi and Nanami came to his aid.

Watching the three of them busily moving around in the kitchen, Nozomi sighed.

"Today really has been full of surprises..."

"Nee, I'm curious... Do you like Homura, Nozomi?" Elf asked casually as she sat in the chair, swinging her legs leisurely.

"Well..." Nozomi gave a mysterious smile. "Who knows? Maybe yes... maybe no..."

"What's that supposed to mean? You basically didn't answer anything..." Nayuta mumbled.

"Are you hesitating?" Utaha guessed. "Maybe it's because you haven't spent enough time with Homura-kun?"

"Probably... I have to admit that Homura-kun is a great guy." Nozomi nodded with a smile. "Even though he's a greedy one, it seems like no one really wants to leave him."

"Thanks for the compliment." Homura's voice came from behind.

"Seriously... Couldn't you be a little more gentlemanly and just pretend you didn't hear that, Homura-kun?" Nozomi shook her head, the corners of her lips lifting slightly.

"Sorry, that's kinda hard..." Homura chuckled.

Because the kitchen was open-plan, even if his hearing wasn't the best, he could still hear what everyone was talking about in the living room.

Naturally, since their conversations were about him and everyone, he couldn't help but respond.

"By the way, about the topic earlier..." Elf thought for a moment, tapping her cheek with her index finger. "We were talking in front of a teacher, right? When I think about it, it's kinda exciting..."

Mafuyu: "..."

Girls: "..."

"Correction... I'm just a guest, and this isn't a school..." Mafuyu suddenly spoke up.

She couldn't help but have complicated feelings.

Why was it that just coming to Homura's home almost made her worldview fall apart?

As for the relationship between Homura and the girls, what she understood was that most of them were more than friends but hadn't quite reached the lover stage yet.

Honestly, situations like this were common at their age.

What made their situation special though, was that there were so many girls, and not only did the girls know about each other's existence, but they also understood each other's feelings and still got along just fine—truly a rare situation.

Nonetheless, there was something she was curious about.

Was she also one of these girls?

Did Homura like her the way he liked these girls?

However, knowing they were a teacher and a student, she strangely felt somewhat immoral for thinking this.

It couldn't be helped.

She had been bombarded with so much information in such a short time that she was still feeling confused and in disbelief.

For Mafuyu, today was truly a bizarre day.
