Chapter 4: Chapter 4 - Admission
Finally, Kihana Saki Yashin had reached the age to attend school. And in this village, there was only one school she could go to—the Ninja Academy.
Her parents, Kihana Saki Noko and Kitahara Kira, were strongly opposed to the idea. They had always wanted their daughter to live a safe and peaceful life. Becoming a ninja meant stepping into a world of danger, combat, and war.
Even in times of peace, the mortality rate for ninjas was high.
How could they possibly send their delicate daughter into such a life?
But...
They couldn't refuse her.
This was the first and only request she had ever made since she was old enough to understand the world.
The determination in her eyes was so strong that, before they even realized it, they had agreed.
The moment the words left their mouths, regret flooded in—fear, doubt, and endless worries.
Neither of them had been elite ninjas, and they knew the risks all too well.
But there was no turning back now.
All they could do was pray for her safety and support her as best as they could.
Kihana Saki Yashin understood her parents' concerns. If they had truly said no, she would have given up immediately.
In her past life, she had admired the world of ninjas, but after being reborn here, her priorities had shifted. At first, she still longed for the life of a shinobi, but now… more than anything, she wanted to make her parents happy.
Still, a part of her couldn't let go of this dream, so she chose to negotiate.
What she hadn't expected was for them to agree so easily.
That night, they gave her an unexpected gift—a practice manual.
It was an old book filled with training knowledge, passed down through generations of their family. Though they were not a prestigious ninja clan, this was a relic of their ancestors' past.
The knowledge inside was mostly basic, nothing too advanced.
However, to her surprise, there were two A-rank ninjutsu recorded within:
Wind Release: Vacuum Wave
A rare secret technique: Water Ripple
And most importantly—a chakra training guide.
With two months left until the academy started, she needed to master chakra control as soon as possible.
After all, she had no idea if she was truly a genius or not.
---
Her First Attempt at Chakra Training...
How should she put it?
It was too easy.
The chakra she refined flowed effortlessly—but something was wrong.
Her right eye's energy rejected it.
Yes, she had already discovered that she could tap into a portion of her right eye's power at will. It allowed her to enhance her strength, making her feel much stronger than before—as if her power had doubled.
It was almost like Sage Mode.
Even more intriguing, her right eye could fully unleash this energy when needed.
Of course, she hadn't tested its full potential yet, but instinctively, she knew it was possible.
She had also started to grasp the abilities of her death-seeing eyes.
Her control was still weak, but she had already conducted a small experiment—on water.
To her shock, she actually saw the death lines of water.
Curious, she wondered—could she kill the gravity of water?
As soon as the thought crossed her mind, she saw countless threads appear, linking everything in sight.
And then, an unsettling realization hit her.
If she touched the wrong thread…
She could collapse the entire planet's gravitational system.
Her breath hitched.
Gravity itself could die.
And if gravity ceased to exist—wouldn't the entire world fall apart?
A chill ran down her spine.
From that moment on, she understood—
Her death-seeing eyes weren't just powerful.
They were beyond anything she had ever imagined.
---
So this was really happening—there was no turning back now.
Even without making a move, Kihanasaki Yashin felt confident. With her physical training alone, she was probably on par with an experienced fighter. At least, that was her best estimate—if anything, she was probably stronger than she thought.
Two months flew by in the blink of an eye.
Kihanasaki Yashin was now six years old.
The Ninja Academy had officially opened.
Her parents, Kitahara Kira and Kihanasaki Noko, took her to the school together. She didn't mind holding their hands as they walked—there was no shame in being dropped off by her parents.
She ignored the curious looks from other students as they arrived. But the moment she stepped into the school, something hit her. As she turned back to smile at her parents, she suddenly felt a deep sense of hesitation.
It reminded her of the first time a child leaves their parents to go to school alone—nervous, unsure, reluctant.
Before she could stop herself, tears welled up in her eyes. Without thinking, she rushed back into her parents' arms.
"Dad... Mom..." she sobbed.
Kihanasaki Noko and Kitahara Kira held her close, gently rubbing her back.
They exchanged a knowing smile before comforting her.
"Don't worry, Yashin. We'll always be here for you."
"You can come straight home after school, okay? And don't stress—school won't be hard for a little genius like you."
Kihanasaki Yashin couldn't even make out their words clearly. She just felt the warmth of their embrace, and for some reason, she couldn't stop crying.
She wasn't sure why she was so emotional. Was it just nerves? Or was it something deeper—maybe even memories from a past life? Whatever it was, she couldn't hold it back.
Eventually, it was time to say goodbye. Ino was the one who pulled her away and led her inside.
Crying in front of Ino felt embarrassing, so Yashin kept her head down, avoiding eye contact.
Ino sighed dramatically. "Oh, Yashin, you're such a kid."
That comment made Yashin stiffen.
For some reason, those words felt incredibly embarrassing.
Her face flushed slightly as she looked at Ino with an indifferent expression.
"Thank you for your help, oh great magician."
Ino's face went blank.
A nearby classmate, who had overheard, perked up with curiosity. "Wait, what? What did you just call her?"
Yashin, still keeping a straight face, repeated, "The first magi—mmpfh!"
Before she could finish, Ino clamped a hand over her mouth at lightning speed. A vein popped on her forehead as she smiled threateningly at the eavesdropper.
"She didn't say anything," Ino said sweetly. "I'm just her friend. Right, Yashin?"
The classmate gulped and quickly backed away. "S-sorry for interrupting."
Once they were alone, Ino turned back to Yashin, her smile still dangerously sharp.
"Didn't we agree we're just friends, Yashin~?"
Ding—
For a second, Ino's eyes seemed to glow red, and Yashin swore she saw her life flash before her eyes.
"W-wait, let's talk about this—"
"Nope. It's punishment time!"
With that, Ino attacked her weak points, mercilessly tickling her.
Yashin's eyes widened, and she struggled desperately to escape, but Ino had her completely trapped.
Three minutes later…
Kihanasaki Yashin lay sprawled over the desk, her hair a mess, her face red, and her clothes slightly disheveled. She stared blankly ahead, completely defeated.
A bit of drool escaped from her mouth.
Sakura, watching from the side, frowned. "Wasn't that a little too much?"
Ino turned to face her with the same devilish aura.
Sakura instantly shuddered. "N-nevermind!" She quickly moved away.
Behind them, Shikamaru and Choji exchanged glances.
"...Poor Yashin," Choji muttered.
"Yeah," Shikamaru sighed. "But Ino being like this is her own embarrassing history catching up to her."
"Oi, do you wanna die?" Ino snapped.
Shikamaru and Choji immediately shut up.
Meanwhile, Hinata, who had been hesitating on whether to say hello, quietly stepped back, intimidated by Ino's energy.
At that moment, Naruto finally arrived, loudly announcing himself.
"Uzumaki Naruto is here!"
But the room barely reacted, only giving him a few curious glances.
A few moments later, Sasuke entered, and instantly, the girls in class squealed in excitement.
Yashin blinked. Are the girls in this world always this precocious?
Soon, more familiar faces appeared—Shino, Kiba, and others, all taking their seats.
Watching all of them, Kihanasaki Yashin, still half-sprawled over her desk, couldn't help but smile slightly.
Everyone is here...
