The Peerless Emperor

Chapter 329: Heart of the World

In the Four Directions World, there was the First World Battle Road, the Second World Battle Forest, the Third World Battle Plain, the Fourth World Battle Frigid Zone, and the Central World, encompassing the realm of the Four Directions.

The Four Directions World, as a Small World, was much larger than the Origin State; it was at least ten times its size.

Originally, the Four Directions World was transformed into a place for trials, dividing it into these five areas.

At present Ye Xin and his group were undergoing trials in both the Second World Battle Forest and the Central World. These two places were still under Yuan Xiang's control, ensuring their safety.

According to Yuan Xiang's plan, once they had completed their trials, they could safely leave the Central World with their performance converted into rewards.

At this moment, Lin Qian was staying within an oasis located in the Fourth Space Battle Frigid Zone, a place originally intended for rest by the Swift Hidden Clan and the Invisible Clan.

The alien races there had all been exterminated by him, and from them, Lin Qian learned that Wu En was the same Black Blade Fish Clan Leader he had seen before.

Clearly, the Black Blade Fish Clan Leader was dead, his body devoured by Wu En's incarnation.

Swift Wind and Night Shadow were tracking down the remnants of different races within the Four Directions World. As for the portals to this Small World, Lin Qian had taken complete control.

The scholars of the Heavenly Art Department had found a way to destroy these portals and had already done so. The next step was to seal the spatial rifts, preventing the alien races from ever again entering the Four Directions World.

Lin Qian also deployed a million-strong army at the locations of the two portals, waiting in ambush. Any alien who attempted to flee through the portals would be killed by the stationed Imperial Army.

Swift Wind was exceptionally skilled in search operations, and Lin Qian also sent the Silver Moon Giant Wolf to assist, determined to eradicate all the alien races within the Four Directions World.

In this snowy world, Lin Qian's scholars, wrapped in their thick robes, with Soul Power faintly shimmering on their garments, braved the frigid storms of the Battle Frigid Zone.

The ferocious blizzards here were part of the Four Directions World's trials, capable of freezing someone in the Nirvana Realm, not to mention the sudden emergence of deadly ice spears.

The harsh environment made it harder for the aliens to escape but did not increase the difficulty for the Huaxia Empire's search efforts. One by one, alien races were discovered, and the pristine white snow was stained crimson with blood.

In the Battle Frigid Zone, scholars and craftsmen began to busy themselves, continuously locating the nodes and pivotal spaces of the Arrays, transforming the formations the alien races had used to consume this Small World.

Once the transformation of the Arrays was complete, Lin Qian transmitted a wisp of his will to Yuan Xiang, who could immediately sense every movement across the Battle Frigid Zone, including the fleeing alien races.

After all the aliens were eliminated, Lin Qian and Yuan Xiang moved to the Central World, avoiding Ye Xin and the others who were still undergoing trials, and went straight to the heart of the Small World.

"So this is the World Heart," Lin Qian observed the seven-zhang-tall sphere of pale white light in front of him, whose soft white glow brought a sense of comfort to his entire body.

Yet, Lin Qian looked at the softly glowing sphere before him with great surprise—it was his first encounter with this so-called World Heart.

According to Yuan Xiang, not every Small World possessed a World Heart.

When Lin Qian asked why the Origin State didn't have a World Heart, Yuan Xiang answered him: "Small Worlds also vary in quality. Those lesser worlds don't have a World Heart."

Recalling carefully, Lin Qian also felt the concentration of Spiritual Energy in the Four Directions World was far richer than that of the Origin State and the area was also more expansive.

Yuan Xiang's body was still ablaze with intense flames; the moment he made this choice, it was irreversible. At this moment, his phantom-branded body had faded much more than before.

Beside him was a portal, styled in an antique manner.

Clearly, this portal was the one mentioned by Yuan Xiang, the direct access to the core of the Human Clan.

"I have taken back my branding; this Four Directions World is yours now," Yuan Xiang looked at Lin Qian and said, "As for this portal, it's best not to use it lightly; the heartland of the Human Clan is not a place you should go yet."

"Hone your skills well, to forge iron one must be strong oneself; it's very important to enhance your own strength. The ability to summon a large army should be used cautiously in the future. Being too conspicuous can easily attract unnecessary trouble."

"Others may know you have a large and mighty army, but it's better they don't know you can summon a large and mighty army at will—the difference between the two is huge."

After giving his instructions, Yuan Xiang revealed a grateful smile to Lin Qian, "Old man must thank you for making such a contribution to the Human Clan and even helping my descendants greatly. On their behalf, I express my gratitude."

Lin Qian looked at the increasingly ethereal Yuan Xiang and nodded, "As part of the Human Clan, this was just lending a hand, nothing significant."

"We will meet again in the future; good lad, you must become stronger. There's a pitiful and lonely old man who is waiting for your emergence," Lin Qian was totally confused upon hearing this.

But just as he was about to ask a question, Yuan Xiang before him had already dissolved into specks of pale blue luminescence, spreading across the space where the core of the world resided.

"Until we meet again, Senior," Lin Qian watched the pale blue luminescence fade away, smiled, turned around to face the core of the world before him, and sat down cross-legged.

Following Yuan Xiang's instruction, Lin Qian extended his Soul Consciousness into the core of the world.

Instantly, Lin Qian felt his Soul Consciousness enter a supple space, as if entering a gentle embrace, and he felt an immense sense of comfort throughout his body.

With a clear mind, Lin Qian had a moment of realization and began to cultivate involuntarily.

In a distant part of the Void, among mountains and waters, Yuan Xiang's original body sat beside a lake, smiling and fishing with someone beside him.

Yuan Xiang wasn't watching his fishing rod, but was instead smiling and narrating something, talking about everything that happened in the Four Directions World with the person beside him.

"Hahaha, wonderful… superb… just wonderful…" the person beside Yuan Xiang kept repeating how good it was, tears streaming down his face.

Surprised to see his big brother in tears, Yuan Xiang could only sigh softly, looking steadily at the lake surface, "Big brother, good days will eventually come. I believe in Lin Qian; with his unparalleled talent, he'll return soon."

Yuan Xiang's big brother, wiping his tears away, showed a look of pride and arrogantly said, "The grandson of Lin Shitian would, of course, not be a mediocre talent. I am very much looking forward to it, Second Brother."

"He will not disappoint you; this lad is too impressive," Yuan Xiang also affirmed with a laugh.

Lin Qian was unaware of these distant events; he was still wholly focused on refining the core of the world before him.
