Chapter 170: Chapter 170
I release a sigh and feel the world release me. That was the hardest meditation I had ever experienced in a while. It is even worse than when I first got Senjutsu as my reward. This world is too tainted and can be called a miracle if it does not collapse on its own.
When I open my eyes, I look at Zelretch and say,
"How in the hell is this planet still alive?"
He only shrugs and says.
"A miracle and the combination of the work between the director and me. Even with that, this world will die out."
"Note?"
"Note timeline, yes."
And it is sooner than they thought it was. The sludge is the evidence for that. I think the planet will no longer produce life in a few hundred years. That means all-natural life will cease to exist, and humans need to create something to survive without them.
It is not a good place to stay.
"Your world is fucked."
"Yup. Lucky for me, this is the Prime one. We have all kinds of armor to make sure the world is still alive."
"But sooner or later, all that armor will crumble if you guys don't do anything."
"And that is why I ask you to come here, no?"
I shake my head and stand up.
"With how severe the planet is, I require more payment for my job."
I can see Rin in the corner of my eyes and decide to throw the bait at her. Zelretch looks at me with a glint in his eyes and says.
"What do you want?"
"Do you have something historical? Caliburn, Gae Bolg, or something along that line. A copy will do."
Rin perks up at my answer, and I can see greed in her eyes. The fish take the bait.
"I will see what I can do. For now, do you want a cup of tea?"
"Oh, yes. Lead the way."
I follow Zelretch to his office and see him lock his office. I sit on the sofa, and he waves his hand. A second later, I can see a freshly brewed tea appear on the table in front of me. After he pours the tea, he looks at me and says.
"How bad is the situation? I know it is bad, but I want to hear it from you."
"Very bad. It only lasts for a few hundred years before it cannot sustain life."
"I see… How long until it is fully healed?"
"Depends on the speed of the purification. At maximum capacity, I can be done in a few months. This is not getting the planet at its full health but rather healthy enough to produce more life that can heal it slowly."
"How long does it take to get it at one hundred percent?"
"A few decades at the earliest and a couple of centuries at the longest."
"That is quite long."
"That it is."
Zelretch releases a sigh and says.
"I know it is bad, but I don't know if it is that bad. How much do you bring with that healing session?"
"The lifespan? More or less a few centuries. I think I gave the planet around three centuries."
That might sound a lot, but to the planet, it is nothing. The planet is more than a billion years old, and a few centuries are nothing to it.
"Three centuries, huh? That is good. We get more time to think of a way to fix this mess. We cannot always depend on you to fix this mess."
"You can reduce the pollution, you know? That will help a lot."
"That will be hard. In this world, technology is not high enough for humanity to make something that can do what it needs without releasing a lot of pollution. Don't get me talking about the people at the top. Profit is what they are thinking."
"Can't you guys do magic to do it?"
"Too many of them do it without anyone noticing the existence of magic."
"Right…"
The people of this world do not want magic to be discovered because it can weaken their magic or magecraft. They even go as extreme as to kill anyone who notices the sign of magic being used.
"I will see if I can take some of the blueprint from the world in this part of the multiverse."
"Search for a world with Solarpunk in it."
He blinks for a few seconds and says.
"Fascinating. I always focus on a very high-tech world, but most of it is full of pollution. But here is a not-too-high-tech world filled with technology that can help the environment."
"Why don't you know about this world?"
"What? Do you think I will know all that is in the Multiverse just because I have the Second Magic? Nope! The Multiverse is vast; even true magic cannot reveal them all. I know all the timelines regarding this Earth but not other planets."
"Right. You know all of Earth in this multiverse but don't know the rest of it."
"Not really. I know a big portion of it. When I was young, I explored the greater part of the galaxy and even tasted something that no other humans can taste."
He gives him a lecherous grin, and I sigh as I get what he means. He once said that he fuck every known race in the multiverse before, and I start to think he is not joking.
"Right. So why are you still not finding this world?"
"Like I said, the multiverse is vast, and my power responds to my request. That means I need to ask it, and most of the world it shows is the world with heavy pollution or does not have anything that can help the environment without an exotic ingredient for the machine."
"I see. So? When do you want to go there?"
"Right now, maybe? We need to scout ahead and plan our heist to steal the blueprint, you know?"
"Woah. Woah. Woah. We?"
"What? You are coming with me."
"I don't consent to this!"
"Bah. Screw your consent! Let's go on an adventure!"
Before I knew it, Zelretch pushed me into a portal.

|3rd POV|
Rin Tohsaka cannot help but feel nervous as the Wizard Marshal calls her and her boyfriend to his office.
"Calm down, Rin. This is not the first time you are meeting with Zelretch."
Rin looks at her boyfriend, Shirou Emiya, with a frown and says.
"But this is different! This is something huge! This is something that many other lords of the Clock Tower envy. We get the first chance to have our territory to be a massive mana generator."
"Is it really that massive?"
Rin shakes her head as she remembers that Shirou might be learning magecraft, but he is still a beginner and new to the Moonlight World.
"It is. Having a mana generator location is something that many magus want in their lifetime. With that, they can do research without being afraid of running out of mana in their territory. That means they can start a bigger project without worrying about reducing the worth of their territory."
"Right."
Rin takes another deep breath when the two of them stand in front of the double door. When she knocks on the door, they hear someone from behind it.
"Come in."
As they open the door, they can see Zelretch and Ryan sitting on the sofa. Zelretch smiles at them and says.
"Take a seat, and we will talk about business."
