Chapter 41: Heodgdw library(2)
The library was well... Huge, almost too big.
There were a lot of bookshelves at least kilometers high, with a lot of books, books and bookshelves extended up to the horizon.
The bookshelves were made of simple light brown wood, but despite being old they looked like new. Each shelf contained about 10 thousand books.
The bookshelves also rose up to the horizon, not for nothing is this the library where the knowledge of all races is possessed.
The library was a complete labyrinth, as it was so big it was extremely easy to get lost.
The various bookshelves were numbered and divided into categories.
But is that all? Absolutely not! This is only the first floor.
The first floor (and also the largest one) is only 1/5 of the other 4 floors, the first, and half of the second floor, are accessible to those who do not have the cards, and those who have them up to the silver rank.
The other half of the second floor and the fourth floor, is accessible to diamond ranks.
While the fifth floor, only have ranks of adamantium (which can be counted with just two hands.)
Fia however, did not want to go to the fifth floor, but rather remained on the first floor, this because there was a book that interested her.
After various searches in the magic sector, Fia found the book she wanted, even though it was high up, the book flew into Fia's hands, it was a book of medium-advanced magic theory.
Even though on the higher floors, higher grade books could be found, Fia wanted to experiment on a book that was not of a high class.
The library was also equipped with tables, sitting at a table, Fia took out a notebook and a normal black pen.
She opened the book which had collected a bit of dust and the pages were slightly yellow and began to leaf through the pages.
«Primary element: Fire.
Description: Fire magic, is one of the primary elements of the 6 elements, it is also one of the most common magic that people receive. It is said that the fire element was not a gift from the gods, but was stolen by the gods, who surrendered, and gave man and other races the power of fire, which was stolen (it may seem like a contradiction, but behind this, the gods recovered the stolen fire, but they donated it). The fire element, basically, is formed with a single circle. The magic circle, however, can be modified»
Fia read carefully when she read "can" her eyelids widened, and without even realizing it she began to write something, that "can" triggered an instant reaction in Fia.
If the magic circle can be directly modified it means that there can be several hidden factors that perhaps can make the circle changeable, Fia writing imagine some of them.
Power: Indicates how strong a spell is, it can also depend on the strength of the user.
Cast time: pre-stability speed, which however slowly decreases with the increase of the masterization of the magic.
Masterization: statistic that indicates how much the magic has been "assimilated", the higher the masterization, the higher the strength and the cast time decreases.
At that moment Fia created a sort of equation M(masterization) = F(strength) + CT (cast time.)
This equation can be read masterization is equal to the sum of the strength of the magic plus the cast time, why the sum? Because Fia supposed that the masterization depends on a sum, but she was not sure.
But thinking about it, it seemed illogical to her, why addition? Couldn't it be subtraction? Or multiplication or even division?
She felt that something was missing and sketched something.
Affinity: indicates how much a user is affine to an element, masterization, Strength, and cast time also depend on this.
At that moment Fia rewrote the equation. A(Affinity) = M(masterization) / F(Strength) + CT(cast time.)
It made some sense, that equation was readable as, affinity is equal to masterization divided by the strength of the magic plus the cast time.
Fia also wrote that M, F, CT were all constants (except CT in which it was the inverse), and as A increased they also increased, but now she had to understand how it can be calculated?
After trying a few times, the results she was hoping for did not come out, but she felt she had made a sensational discovery (if it had not been for Nari's help, she would never have come up with such a theory.)
Fia temporarily called this theory [Magical Affinity Theory] but she had to find a better name, then she came up with the name [AMFCT Formula] this name was the union of all the letters she had given, Fia shook her head in approval, it was easy and simple to remember.
Fia did other experiments with the formula giving random values, I also think she had to express the value in percentage.
After several attempts with random numbers Fia felt satisfied, more or less, she came to a conclusion.
A would go from 0 (null) to 10 (maximum.)
M from 0% to 100%.
F instead would have to depend on the magical strength, in this case Fia relied on random numbers but in the future she had to refine this part.
CT instead goes from an extremely long launch time to an extremely low launch time(0).
For now Fia was fine with it, she was more than satisfied, but applying it in general could be difficult for her, but she didn't want to give up.
Fia tried to do other calculations to be more and more sure and I devised a method.
If and if the number would have exceeded 10 Fia would have applied the normalization.
Example if the result was greater than 10 Fia would have done a normalization with a maximum number (she chose to use 100) so for example 11 would have become 1.1, at that moment Fia was satisfied but still wanted to continue.
