The Face Genius Actor

Episode 118

Episode 118

The opening of the fan meeting was watching a video that briefly compiled impactful scenes from all the works I’ve appeared in so far.

I edited the video myself and had it reviewed by Festa Entertainment.

I thought it would be a good opportunity to test my editing skills.

Fortunately, the evaluation wasn’t bad.

“The video quality is amazing!”

“I heard you stayed in the editing room every day, but I didn’t expect a video of this quality!”

“Ah… What on earth is there that our actor doesn’t know how to do…”

Kim Bo-mi, Yeo Kyung-chan, and Song Jin-ah, who watched the video together, didn’t hold back their praise.

And the reaction of the fans watching the video now seemed pretty good too.

The evidence was the enormous cheers I heard from behind the stage several times.

After the video ended, the voice of Jo Sung-ho, who was in charge of today’s fan meeting, was heard.

I asked Jo Sung-ho to host, remembering our connection from “New Quiz”, and luckily his schedule worked out.

“So, that was the highlight video. I’m not sure if anyone noticed, but this video was edited directly by actor Lee Si-joon, not by the agency.”

At Jo Sung-ho’s words, the fans started murmuring.

“Did Si-joon really edit this?”

“Wow. Amazing. He even wrote the script for ‘I’m Not a Villain’ himself, and now he can edit too.”

“What on earth can’t our Si-joon oppa do!”

“By the way, when is ‘I’m Not a Villain’ coming out! I want to see it soon!”

As the fans were voicing their thoughts, Jo Sung-ho continued.

“Now that we’ve finished watching the video, it’s time to welcome today’s main character, actor Lee Si-joon. Please give him a big round of applause!”

As soon as Jo Sung-ho’s introduction ended, one of the OSTs from “Arrest” played in the Hall of Blessings, and I made my appearance to match the OST.

A storm of cheers and applause poured from the audience.

After taking the stage, I first conducted a keyword interview.

The keyword interview involved taking questions from fans in advance, organizing them by word, and having a Q&A session.

Since I had received the question content in advance, answering wasn’t difficult.

However, for some reason, Festa Entertainment had mixed in some strange questions.

“Let’s move on to the third keyword question. The third keyword is ‘relationship’. We know that Lee Si-joon has quite a wide network in the entertainment industry, so what’s your shoe size?”

“Pardon?”

“Your shoe size.”

“Ah… It’s 260.”

“Your feet aren’t as big as I thought, but they’re wide? How did that happen?”

“Well, I guess it’s because there’s no correlation between shoe size and having relationships with many people?”

“I see. I was thinking I should wear bigger shoes because I wanted to have many celebrity friends, but I guess I don’t need to. Let’s move on to the next question.”

Jo Sung-ho threw these kinds of questions several times, eventually receiving boos from the fans.

In response, Jo Sung-ho, feeling wronged, revealed the script to the fans.

The script was full of absurd questions.

“No, I was shocked when I first received the script too! Are Festa Entertainment employees usually this mischievous?”

“I’ve never thought so, but today seems particularly strange. Can I read some of the questions too?”

“Sure, take a look. Oh, should I not show you?”

“I don’t think you should? But let’s take a look anyway.”

As Jo Sung-ho and I struggled over the question sheet, laughter erupted among the fans.

Many fans raised their voices saying how cute it was.

Finally, I found some decent content from Jo Sung-ho’s question sheet.

“There’s a good question for the fifth keyword. The fifth keyword is love.”

“Love? Is that a word we can talk about here?”

“It’s about love for syrup, of course. What were you thinking?”

“Uh… Love for syrup. That’s what I was thinking too.”

“I don’t think so… Anyway, here’s the keyword question. Do you have any aegyo (cute gestures) that you only show at home? Please show us one for your beloved syrup.”

Fortunately, I had prepared aegyo in advance.

I had thought I would naturally be asked to show aegyo at the fan meeting.

I made a heart with both hands towards the audience and winked.

“I love you, syrup.”

After the eventful keyword interview time, I proceeded with the first performance of the fan meeting.

The first performance was singing a song called “Soulmate”.

The accompaniment started to a medium tempo, and I began to sing.

-When I look unusually small

I was happy because you were there

-Yes, you’re the person who understands me

That’s why I can’t help but love you

-Now I’ll be there when you’re having a hard time

By your side today too

-Tell me when you’re in pain

Tell me when you’re struggling

I’ll tell you how much I love you

“Soulmate” was a song with generally low notes.

Because of that, through practice, I was able to complete the song to a level where I could sing the whole thing.

Honestly, even I didn’t think I sang well.

But I hoped that the lyrics of “Soulmate” would bring joy to the fans, even if just for a moment.

Because the lyrics of “Soulmate” contained my sincere feelings towards the fans.

Although I didn’t write the lyrics myself, it was something I realized after countless repetitions of practice.

‘It’s really a good song.’

After the first performance ended, we had a time to interview invited guests.

The first guest was Lee Joo-yeon.

Lee Joo-yeon, whom I first met during my time at Sorisaem Theater Company, is currently loved by many people.

Recently, she took on the lead role in an MBS drama, continuing her growth.

“The first guest at the fan meeting is actress Lee Joo-yeon, who worked with actor Lee Si-joon in ‘I Will Cast Love’!”

With Jo Sung-ho’s introduction, Lee Joo-yeon appeared, and the fans welcomed her warmly.

During the interview with Lee Joo-yeon, the fans most enjoyed hearing stories from their time at Sorisaem Theater Company.

“I heard you did an interesting play together when you were in the theater company?”

Lee Joo-yeon nodded in response to Jo Sung-ho’s question.

“Yes, it was a work called ‘The Stranger’.”

“Ah, perhaps Albert Camus’ ‘The Stranger’?”

“That’s right. We adapted the novel of the same name for the stage.”

“Oh, I see. What roles did each of you play in the play?”

“Si-joon here played Meursault, and I played the role of Marie, his lover.”

“So you played lovers then too, just like in ‘I Will Cast Love’?”

“Now that you mention it, that’s true. Although it wasn’t the same happy ending as in ‘I Will Cast Love’.”

“I guess the ending was similar to the novel. By the way, I’m curious. What was actor Lee Si-joon like back then?”

Lee Joo-yeon seemed to ponder for a moment before speaking.

“He was incredibly handsome then too. Actually, at first his acting wasn’t that great, but because his looks were so outstanding…”

“Ah! So someone cast Lee Si-joon as Meursault because of that!”

“Yes, that’s right. So there were many twists and turns. The role of Meursault was quite difficult. People around him were giving Si-joon a hard time.”

“What about you, actress Lee Joo-yeon? How was it? Didn’t you give him a hard time?”

At Jo Sung-ho’s question, I quickly jumped in with the microphone.

“Senior was almost the only person in the theater company who supported me. I’m not sure why, though.”

Lee Joo-yeon smiled and replied.

“It was others who made the hasty decision, and I helped because it seemed Si-joon was being unfairly treated, but…”

“Yes, but what?”

“I have a principle of not bullying handsome people.”

“Ah, I see.”

“Above all, it wasn’t long before Si-joon perfectly embodied the role of Meursault in a way that no one could argue with.”

“That’s right. When you show your skills, there’s nothing to say.”

“He really did a great job with the Meursault role then… In fact, Si-joon is quite good at playing psychopath roles, if I may say so.”

At Lee Joo-yeon’s words, Jo Sung-ho’s eyes sparkled as he asked me a question.

“It would certainly be more chilling if someone as handsome as actor Lee Si-joon played such a role. Do you have any plans?”

Recalling the last scene of “I’m Not a Villain”, I answered.

“Ah. I might be visiting many of you soon with a similar role.”

After that, we had a cake-cutting ceremony, and Cindy appeared as a guest.

With Cindy, we talked about behind-the-scenes stories from “Let’s Live Together, Princess”.

We revealed for the first time the anecdote about changing the editing direction of “Let’s Live Together, Princess”.

We had already gotten permission from Director Yoo Sung-hyo for this.

Next was my dance performance, and fortunately, the fans were enthusiastically excited.

The response wasn’t bad because I showed a performance of shooting love bullets to fans who had practiced in advance at the end of the show.

After the dance performance, Ji Jung-hyun came out as a guest and talked about various topics.

Especially, as an extension of Lee Joo-yeon’s story, it was revealed that I was originally cast as high school student Hwang In-seop in “Arrest”.

Ji Jung-hyun, who was watching the fan meeting from backstage, brought up the story.

“Isn’t Hwang In-seop the final boss in ‘Arrest’?”

When Jo Sung-ho asked excitedly, Ji Jung-hyun nodded.

“Yes. He’s an incredibly terrifying final boss. But Si-joon perfectly pulled off that role with his pretty face.”

“Wow! As expected!”

“In fact, when ‘Arrest’ was in crisis, Si-joon taking on the role of high school student Shin Han-jae was because he had done so well with this role.”

“I see… There was a lot of talk back then. People were asking why they didn’t bring in an actor from outside.”

“There weren’t any suitable actors, but there was no need to. We already had Si-joon. However, with that decision, the people here missed out on seeing Si-joon’s psychopath acting.”

The fans expressed regret at Ji Jung-hyun’s words, and I once again told them that I would be showcasing a similar role soon to console their disappointment.

The fan meeting seemed to be concluding successfully, leaving richer stories than I had expected until the very end.

‘I’m glad I seemed to have kept the fans from getting bored…’

However, the fan meeting didn’t end as simply as I thought.

Just before the end, Jo Sung-ho suddenly held up something and spoke.

“Now it’s time to end the fan meeting… But there’s one thing I want to ask. Please answer honestly, actor Lee Si-joon.”

“Yes?”

“What on earth is this?”

The voices of the fans who witnessed this scene began to grow noisy.
