The Executioner of Horror Films

Chapter 6: Executioner in a quiet place Final

*On behalf of Mark*

Mark stood leaning against the wall and felt his thoughts rushing, immersing himself in memories of the previous mission. It was his second task, and he couldn't get rid of the feeling that this time everything was more complicated.

I really gave up the usual world to become a workhorse for the Supreme Being," he thought, looking into the faces of Lee, Evelyn and Riley. She pulled me out of my own world and forced me to travel through these terrible worlds, which were once just fiction. Now they have become a reality, full of dangers and bloodthirsty creatures.

His first mission was excessive: he had to destroy Jason Voorhis, a legendary maniac who tormented young people by the lake. Mark remembered how he made his way through the forest, dodging blows and deftly used his skills to win. He managed by killing Jason and saving a group of counselors who were trapped in a death trap. It was his first acquaintance with these worlds, and although he completed the task, his consciousness was still crippled by what he saw.

The system I received from the Supreme Entity took root in me after the transition to this world. When I chose Carrie's telekinesis from the movie, it cost me 900 points," Mark thought. I initially had 1000 points, but after buying the machine I spent another 100. Now I have 0 left, but it should still be enough to survive in such a world.

He knew that telekinesis was a powerful ability to manipulate objects at a distance, and in his situation - to scare and destroy monsters. It was not only useful, but also necessary.

After the first task, I realized one thing: each mission accumulates experience and restores these points. I must learn how to use my resources effectively," he decided, thinking over strategies to himself.

Now he is here again, among new threats, among people who depend on him. If this world takes root even deeper, I must stop it," he thought, looking around.

- We have to move on, - I said in an emotionally empty voice, interrupting my thoughts. Everything inside him screamed that his task was not finished yet. These worlds will not leave him alone until he fulfills the will of the Supreme essence.

*On behalf of Lee*

Lee moved forward, trying to cope with the increasing sense of anxiety. Mark was walking in front of him, and every time he used his abilities, Lee could not get rid of the feeling that they behaved like in some horror movie.

- Did you see what he did? - Evelyn whispered, her hungry look was full of curiosity and fear at the same time.

- Yes, - Lee replied, not taking his eyes off Mark, who was walking in front. - It's unbelievable.

When suddenly another creature came out of the corner, Mark again demonstrated his strength. He raised his hand, and with a swing the monster was thrown back to the wall, as if he was simply pushed by an invisible force. The creature rolled on the ground and froze, showing no signs of life.

Lee and Evelyn froze in place, amazed by what they saw. Riley clung to Evelyn, trying to find solace in her closeness.

- Who are you? - Lee finally asked, unable to hold back the question. - Where do you get such strength?

Mark stopped and turned to them, his red eyes flashed in the dim light.

"I'm God's messenger," he said with cold dignity. There was not a drop of doubt or excitement in his voice.

Lee and Evelyn looked at each other, their eyes widened in surprise.

- God's messenger? - Evelyn asked. Her voice was puzzled and insecure.

Mark noticed their reaction and added:

- I can't talk about it anymore. I have my own mission, and we must continue on our way.

He turned around again, walking forward, leaving Lee and Evelyn in a state of confusion.

- Is it true, the world I know? - whispered Evelyn, who was searching for an answer on Lee's face.

- I don't know, but... - Lee began, but his thoughts were confused. - But he obviously doesn't lie about his nature.

Mark walked, keeping his confidence. *I can't let them know everything*," he thought. In their eyes, he wanted to remain a screen cutting off fatigue and fear.

Their responsibilities were shared: Lee and Evelyn had to follow him, and he had to protect them, leaving his secrets to themselves. That was the only reason they were here.

*Some time later*

Lee, Evelyn and Riley walked forward, exploring the dark corridors. Soon they found themselves in the main hall, where sinister sounds and rustling sounded everywhere. Lee understood that they could not continue to just survive in this world; there was a final battle ahead.

- We need to gather all the monsters in one place, - Lee said, trying to group his thoughts. - If we can lure them into a trap, Mark will be able to destroy them all.

- How are we going to do it? - Evelyn asked, her voice trembling with fear and tension.

- I have a plan," Lee said, feeling a surge of determination. - We'll make noise to get their attention, and then, when they get together, Mark uses his abilities to destroy them.

Riley nodded, his immense fear became a source of strength.

- Okay, we'll do it, - Evelyn exposed her motionless confidence when their common intention began to come true.

Lee pointed to the old generator standing by the wall.

- We can use it to create bright light and loud noise. This should help.

They quickly got to the generator, and Lee turned it on with effort. The mechanisms creaked, and soon the hall was filled with blinding light and deafening noise. Monsters began to gather, attracted to their place.

- Mark! - Lee shouted when the first creature appeared in the doorway.

Mark stood in front, his eyes were burning with seriousness. He concentrated, and an invisible force appeared around him again. Lee felt the atmosphere charged with tension.

Monsters, pushing against each other, began to fill the hall, their creepy forms towered over people. Suddenly, Mark raised his hand, and under the influence of his strength, the silhouettes of the creatures froze for a moment.

- Now," he said, as if saying a spell.

There was a deafening whistle in the air, and a powerful wave of energy broke out of Mark's hands, tearing the monsters apart. They rose into the air like dolls controlled by invisible threads. Their screams were heard, turning into a pathetic croak, and soon from the monsters, only puddles of blood remained that once reminded of them.

Lee and his friends stood in complete shock, watching Mark narrow the flow of energy and fill the hall with light. The remains of the monsters disappeared one by one, and eventually, when the last one turned to dust, silence reigned.

Mark exhaled a little and turned to them with fatigue in his eyes.

- Everything is ready, you are no longer in danger, - he said, his voice sounded calm, but tired.

Lee felt light, but Mark's mysterious nature remained in the air.

- What now? - he asked, not having a clear idea of what would happen next.

Mark looked at them, and then, as if gathered his strength, said:

- I have things to do, and I need to go.

These words took them by surprise. In the next second, Mark began to disappear, his body dissolved in the air, leaving behind only a slight glow. Lee and his family stood, not believing their eyes.

- No, wait! - Evelyn shouted, holding out her hand.

But it was too late. Mark disappeared, leaving them alone in this world, now free from monsters, but now with questions to which they will not get answers.
