The End of a Fake Marriage

Chapter 34. Doctor Renee

“Are you crazy?”

“Well, that’s it”

As soon as his eyes met Renee’s in the air, Alexander had to swallow a sigh.

Her bright orange eyes were fixed on the whiskey glass in his hand. Renee rushed over, snatched the glass and pills away, and said in a firm and strict voice.

“Did you not know that patients are forbidden from consuming things like this, CEO?”

He looked at the glass that had been snatched away from him, a small white hand came towards him. The hand covering his forehead was cool and refreshing.

“It’s a relief that your fever seems to have completely gone down.”

“…I’m fine now. I’m perfectly fine, Renee.”

“Well, that’s for Dr. Rufus to decide. Until she gets here, you need to rest.”

Renee said firmly and led him to sit in a large armchair near the window. And then, she said in a soft voice to Gabriel, who was watching her with eyes full of fierce support,

“Gabriel, could you bring up something light to eat? Since he’s had an empty stomach all this time, a simple potage or clear soup would be ideal.”

“Yes, My Lady. I’ll fetch it right away.”

“I’m not particularly hungry…”

“This patient is impossible the moment he opens his eyes, honestly.”

Alexander shut his mouth tightly at Renee’s words and looked at her with a dumbfounded look.

“Bad attitude…?”

‘Me?’

The shadows of the trees beyond the window swayed gently across Renee’s stern face.

“I’ll hear your rebuttal after you’ve finished your meal, patient.”

“Doctor Renee, may I inquire if you’ve obtained a medical license?”

“Who knows? If I look for it, I might find one. I’ll check after you finish your meal.”

Her defense was solid. Relentless Renee left no room for escape, Alexander was forced to finish all the food that Mrs. Andrea had brought.

He didn’t know it before he started eating, but once the food entered his mouth, it went down smoothly. He must have been hungry, because he emptied the entire bowl and even finished a plate of beautifully cut fruit.

After feeling quite full, Alexander instinctively reached for a cigarette.

Renee blocked his path again as he was about to go outside with his cigarette, as he usually didn’t smoke indoors when Renee was around. And then, a white hand was in front of him again.

“…”

He stared at her, as if to ask what she was doing. Smiling faintly, Renee tapped her finger against the silver cigarette case he was holding.

“…You want me to hand this over too?”

“Well, at least you’re paying attention.”

Alexander frowned and looked at Renee. In front of his eyes full of displeasure, Rene spoke calmly with a calm face.

“Hurry up and give it to me, Alexander.”

‘…Wait, what on earth is going on?’

For the past two years, Renee had never interfered with him like this. Clearly, his collapse must have shaken her more than he had realized.

He had a feeling that if he gave in here, he would have everything taken away from him.

Alexander stared intently at Renee, then as if to show off, he took out a cigarette and put it in his mouth. And tilting his head crookedly, he answered nonchalantly.

“I don’t want to.”

Even if the whiskey and medicine had been taken, he wasn’t about to lose his cigarette too. However, the current Renee was not someone who would back down easily.

“If your careless tongue wounded someone’s unguarded heart, at least pretend to be sorry, Alexander.”

The soft voice was as gentle as a morning greeting, but the gaze that was looking straight at him was colder than ever.

Only then did Alexander recall the night at the Ministry of Finance, which he had forgotten about.

‘What had I said back then?’

“A fake wife trying to act like a real one, is that it?”

The words from that day floated back, sharply, like shattered pieces of a blade. And Renee’s eyes, which had wavered as she listened to those pointed words that he had deliberately thrown out.

“Or is it that even now, my role as a fake wife is annoying you? That I’m overstepping and don’t know my place?”

Renee gave him a smile as she returned his own words back to him. It wasn’t a genuine smile, but a fake one where only her eyes curved.

“…”

The man, who was good at hiding his expression, stared at her as if he was flustered. His deep blue eyes, filled with emotion, shook slightly.

Renee, watching him intently, smiled faintly and extended her hand once more.

“So, if you’re even a little bit sorry, could you behave obediently, just for a moment, patient? That is, unless you really want things to completely on bad terms with me.”

Eventually, a faint sigh escaped between his lips, where the cigarette was held.

With that, the winner was decided. The weak loser had to hand over his cigarette to his wife, who held the victory.

However, it seemed that wasn’t enough for her, as Renee took the entire cigarette case he was holding.

Left with nothing but an empty hand, he was left with only a lighter.

The fate of a defeated man.

Reinerbell was located about 300 km south of Kaliba and had historically been an estate owned by the Chambler family.

It was also a city that was near to “Liverteau,” where the royal family spent their winter vacations, Reinerbell was also home to the much-loved birch forest, “Orsen Hill.”

The Chambler family’s country house was located in the most beautiful part of Reinerbell.

And the one who controlled that place, ironically, was Meggie Chambler, the catfish who had rolled in and somehow taken the Chambler name.

Bang—

Gunshots was heard repeatedly from the hunting grounds owned by the Chamblers.

After that, young men whose ages were hard to guess began to run in search of prey.

“That one’s mine!”

“No way, I’m getting it first!”

“Out of the way!”

Bang, bang!

Behind the young men who were shooting their guns with bloodshot eyes, there was a tent that blocked all sides, preventing anyone from seeing inside.

Meggie Chamber was inside there, enjoying a lascivious game while listening to the gunshots.

“Ah, uhn! Yes, right there…!”

Moans echoed from beyond the thin tent. In response to the passionate service of her loyal lover and full-time lawyer, Largo Horven, she smiled ecstatically toward the sky and grabbed his hair.

“Good, Largo! Ah, ah! Largo! Largo!”

Bang!

Another gunshot rang out again. Each time that happened, Meggie’s thighs would twitch and clench tightly, and Largo would slap her thighs sharply, leaving handprints.

“Ah, hngh!”

Meggie reached the peak of her climax with glazed eyes. Shaking from head to toe, she let out a satisfied sigh as she was held in the arms of her much younger lover.

“…Hah. You’re the best, Largo.”

“Of course. Where would those pathetic little pups find someone as lewd as you to satisfy?”

At his blatant jealousy, Meggie burst into laughter and kissed him.

After sharing a sloppy and fishy kiss, the two lay side by side on the cushions and put cigarettes in their mouths.

“Is the preparation going well? Looking at Nina’s condition, it seems like we’ll have to go up soon.”

“Well, almost. It’s a pain because that damn old man doesn’t listen, but… it’s pretty much finished.”

He smirked, blowing out white cigarette smoke.

His eyes were drooping downward, making him appear docile at first glance, but in reality, he was the most despicable and violent person Meggie knew.

He played the role of a respectable lawyer, his soft appearance deceiving many. Yet Meggie saw through it all, enjoying the contradiction as she squeezed his backside and whispered into his ear,

“Keep it up, darling.  I have to get my share so that you can get yours too. If we let Renee or whatever her name is take it all, we’ll be left with nothing.”

“Isn’t your ladyship’s way of speaking about the former marchioness a bit improper?”

“As long as you know, that’s all that matters. Right?”

“Ah, our little secret. Is that it?”

“That’s right, my love.”

The two of them made eye contact and burst into giggling laughter. In the meantime, the constant gunshots from outside had stopped. It seemed like the hunt was finally over.

At that moment, hurried footsteps approached from a distance.

“Madam Anasha! I did it! I caught it! May I come in?”

Meggie, who was wearing a gown while holding a long cigarette holder, flung open the chiffon curtain that was covering the entrance of the tent to see today’s winner.

“…!”

Meggie Anasha, with her disheveled red hair and icy golden eyes, gazed down at the youthful man kneeling before her, clutching the lifeless body of a young deer.

“What’s your name?”

“…De, Delua, Madam Anasha.”

The young man, with his beautiful smooth golden hair and deep crimson eyes, answered with trembling lips.

He had an excellent appearance, as if he was aiming to be an actor, and she liked his eyes, which were filled with fear.

Meggie smiled, smoothly curling up her wet lips, then used her fingertips to lift the chin of the young man who was kneeling and said,

“Congratulations, Delua. You are today’s winner. Let us have a feast tonight with the young deer that Delua has caught today.”

The young man smiled brightly while holding the bloody young deer.

The blood of the young deer, who had suddenly become prey without knowing anything, soaked his white shirt as if it were his own blood
