The dragon's harem

Chapter 1099: Safe-Fail

Kali grabbed Aella and leaped with her to Arad in a single move. "No time for your crying, we have to resuscitate him. Even though the two of them crossed such a massive distance, Aella didn't feel any drag or acceleration. It was not teleportation, but the two of them didn't fly there either.

Aella immediately felt the heavy air around her and started to produce her wind to breathe. The oxygen destroyer seemed to remove all of the breathable air, suffocating anything in the area. Even if that notion was right, it was still lacking.

Arad lay there on his stomach like a sleeping cat, not a single breath or a heartbeat coming from him. This was the terrifying power of the oxygen destroyer; it destroyed all of the oxygen in the air, the blood of living beings, and in their very cells.

In a second, Arad was alive and fully awake, but in the next second, all of his cells shut down due to the sudden disappearance of oxygen. Arad's body suddenly faced a loss of power throughout his whole being and became unable to even remain conscious, let alone produce oxygen to breathe.

Arad's nuclear engine needed energy to be started, and the oxygen destroyer had robbed him of that spark. He is now as good as dead, unable to bring himself back.

"You create new air and push it down his throat. I'll push down on his chest, try to force his heart to beat manually. We need to re-oxygenate him, even a little." Kali lifted her hand a giant golden palm appeared behind her, flipping Arad on his back.

Aella sighed. All she could do now was follow Kali's lead as best as she could. Saving Arad's life takes priority over her anger. She lifted her hand and formed a massive swirling storm of fresh air.

{[Dance of the Dead]} Arad's body suddenly burst with necrotic magic and was engulfed in a death black mist, followed by his eyes flashing blue, a bright magic glowing beneath his scales, and the horrifying aura of dracolish filled the air, sending chills down Aella's spine.

Even Kali was caught by surprise and didn't know what happened, all she could realise at a moment's notice was that Arad is getting resurrected as an undead. This process must be stopped at all costs. She can't let Arad lose his life here and turn into a walking disaster of a corpse.

She swung her palm at his chest, She must destroy the necrotic core forming at his heart before it absorbs his soul. But at that moment, Arad's body disappeared, and Kali's attack landed on the ground, shattering it.

She could feel it, something took Arad away, it dragged him out of the fabric of time and space, he stopped existing just a fraction of a second before she could hit him. The only one who could do this is the overgod…or Nyar.

The overgod won't do such a thing, so the only conclusion is that Nyra was watching and took the chance to snatch him away.

TAP! Something landed behind the two and sighed, "My head hurts…" It was a woman's voice, reeking with death beyond all comprehension.

Kali turned back immediately and saw her, a seven-foot-tall naked and pale elvish woman with long pink hair, glowing blue eyes, a body full of tattoos, and a body full of curses that not even some gods could understand.

Doma had taken over Arad's dead body and made it her own. She cracked her neck and flexed her abs, sighed, and rubbed her chest as if having heartburn. "Such a stellar body…the best I could ask for…" She looked down at her body…

She could feel it, all of the power that Arad accumulated, such a massive pressure that she couldn't feel before when only taking over clones of his body or borrowing command. She wanted Arad's body, but not for her control or to take over, but to eat him, to enjoy him.

Doma approached Kali and punched her in the face hard enough to drop her to the ground. She then walked forward and stomped on her face. "You better be grateful that I have a failsafe…" Doma pressed down on Kali's face with her foot, "I know I'm not your match…but I'll make sure you'll suffer."

[Elemental Expansion] Time ripped apart and suddenly it was Arad the one stepping on Kali's face. He looked around with a confused face and lifted his foot in a hurry. "What happened?" He gasped.

A mouth opened on his neck, "Kali's oxygen destroyer managed to kill you, or at least get you that close to a real corpse that my fail-safe kicked in. I had a necromancy spell at the ready to turn you into a dracolich in case you were killed in combat. I then took over the body and used my expansion to eject us outside time and space. That allowed me to bring you back to how you were a minute in the past, before the oxygen destroyer killed you."

"I thought your expansion was limited to ten seconds…" Arad gasped and Doma giggled, "It was my body after I took over, my limit was around five minutes."

The mouth disappeared, and Doma emerged from Arad's back, controlling his clone. "Back to this inferior copy. I guess this is the best I can expect from a system-bound druid ability." She approached Kali and stretched her arms. Even using [Gemini] and [Virgo] to create a clone of Arad and turn it into a woman like herself, the body created wasn't as powerful as Arad's true body.

Doma helped Kali stand and wrapped her arm around her neck, "Now listen, newbie wife. Now you owe me a favor…a big one that you can't pay in full."

"Want a specific power?" Kali looked at her, and Doma punched her in the guts, "No…you OWE me a FAVOR. I'll use it whenever I need." She smacked her on the back and laughed.

"I thought you were dead!" Aella jumped at Arad on the verge of crying. Her eyes were already bloodshot and about to start spraying tears.

"That felt weird. Everything went black for a second." Arad looked up with a worried face, "But…I could see something strange." He could remember that when his soul stood in the void, he wasn't alone. Two young boys were standing beside him, and they told him that he didn't have a place in death's domain. When Arad insisted that he didn't know what was going on, the two boys sighed and asked if he wished for them to keep trying or burn everything down.

It was then that Doma's cursed chains appeared out of nowhere and pulled him back.

Arad looked at Doma, "So am I a dracolich now?"

"No. That was removed, it'll be bad for you. All that stink and rotten flesh, and you'll be just bones after a few thousand years." Doma approached him, "That won't do it for us." She licked her lips and faded away.

"Are you all right? Should I check your body?" Kali approached him with a worried face, and Arad shook his head. He didn't feel any different than before. Doma made sure to keep him safe and alive as she promised when they first met.

"But I've seen Aella's arrow…it was amazing." Arad lifted his hand and conjured a green arrow of wind magic. Aella blinked twice and looked at Kali, "You gave the power as well?"

Kali looked back at her with a puzzled face, "No…he is doing that on his own."

"I already made this thing you call oxygen to breathe when I was fighting Vorvadoss. All I need to do is reverse that and mimic Aella's arrow a bit, and now I have my own Oxygen destroyer." He looked at the arrow, and it suddenly turned black.

"But there is something else that is quite common, and I think would be more effective than erasing oxygen. This arrow should cause life forms to crumble." What Arad was holding in his hand was a carbon destroyer.

Kali looked at him. She had expected this, but was still surprised to see it. Destruction and Creation were created by AO, their powers are nothing but an extension of his power. She took a deep breath and approached him, knocking on his chest. "Hide that away before it blows up."

Arad clenched his fist, and the arrow floating between his fingers shattered into specs of black magic. He then turned toward Aella and pulled her to him with gravity magic. "I can feel that you're still worried. I'm fine." He pulled her closer to his chest with a one-arm hug.

"Sorry… I almost ended up killing you." She looked down, remembering the moment she started sensing that Arad's magic was fading away.

"Then you'll have to make it up to me tonight." He grabbed her butt tightly with one hand and she smiled, "Of course."

"Wait!" Kali looked at him. Grabbed his other hand and stuck it to her butt, "I'm the one who caused this. I won't mind…a rough punishment."

A mouth appeared on Arad's hand and bite Kali's butt, leaving a bloodied bite mark. "Girl! You aren't sneaking this up past me. I'm gonna bite your ass off!"

"Witch! You already did!" Kali rubbed her still throbbing cheek, "Let him decide." She looked at Arad.

Arad looked a bit worried, "I…" This wasn't the first time he didn't know how to answer. Any response he could think of will be bad if he is the one to say it…

Aella looked at Kali, "I bet he wants to. Hell, me as well. Having you around is reassuring, to be honest, the moment I heard the goddess of destruction wanted him, I told him that he should go for you."

"Heeeeee…" Kali looked at Arad's face with a smug expression. "You already got the wives approval for me, yet leave me hanging…" She looked at Aella, "Tell me, why am I here with nothing in me?"

"He wants Nina first." Aella replied, scratching her chin.
