Finally, after much persuasion from Sui, the guests reluctantly departed. Before leaving, they reminded him to let them know when his restaurant would open.
Once he saw them off, Sui sighed in relief.
With today's events, the school festival would officially come to an end.
"Oh no, I won't be able to enjoy Sui's cooking anymore," Leonora said, feeling a tinge of regret that she wouldn't be able to come by for meals as often in the future.
Sui smiled warmly. "Auntie, you're always welcome to come by whenever you want something to eat."
"That's kind of you, but I've been away from Northern Europe for too long," Leonora replied, touching her cheek with a hint of concern. "I only planned to spend a bit of time with Alice, but it seems I've stayed longer than I expected. It's starting to feel like a burden."
"Mom, you're really just having a hard time saying goodbye to Sui's cooking, aren't you?" Alice teased.
Leonora chuckled. "Haha, maybe."
"Auntie, are you leaving soon?" Sui asked, feeling a bit of reluctance. He had grown fond of Leonora, who, despite her noble and elegant appearance, had a quirky sense of humor and a youthful energy that made her endearing.
Of course, it was simply the fondness of a younger generation toward their elders.
Leonora nodded with a touch of sadness. "I'll probably leave in a few days. The thought of not seeing Sui again is making me a little sad."
After her departure, Sui also said goodbye to the elite ten graduates, including Hinako and Sonoka.
"Sui, I'm leaving for now, but I'll come by again later!" Hinako said, standing on her tiptoes in wooden clogs as she gently patted Sui's head with some difficulty.
Feeling a little awkward, Sui nevertheless escorted them to the door. "Please come again sometime."
"Definitely!" Sonoka smiled warmly at him.
Afterwards, Sui, Megumi, and the others cleaned up the restaurant and decided not to open it the next day.
For others, the school festival had officially ended, but for Sui, there was still one crucial matter. If his prediction was correct, that person would appear at Erina's restaurant.
Later, everyone gathered at Erina's restaurant for dinner. However, Sui seemed distracted, frequently glancing towards the door.
"Sui, is something wrong with the food?" Megumi asked in surprise, noticing his distraction.
"Is the food not to your liking today? Or maybe the air conditioning is too low? Or are you just tired?" Erina asked, her tone filled with concern, as she bombarded him with questions like a worried partner.
"Ahem, no, nothing like that," Sui replied, snapping back to attention. "The food's fantastic." He offered them a reassuring smile.
"Are you waiting for someone? You keep looking at the door," Rindō asked casually, taking a bite of foie gras.
"Sui, are you expecting someone important?" Erina asked, her curiosity piqued. "Is it... a girl?"
"Maybe," Rindō teased with a mischievous grin.
"Is it really a girl?" Erina asked, sounding a little jealous, having taken Rindō's words seriously.
Seeing Erina's proud but gullible reaction, Sui was left speechless. He shot Rindō a look and said, "No. Don't listen to Rindō-senpai's nonsense. I'm not waiting for anyone."
"Ugh, Rindō-senpai is the worst!" Alice chimed in, clearly realizing Rindō was just stirring the pot.
"Really?" Though Erina tried to play it off, her concern was still evident.
The group continued to enjoy their dinner, with Alice and the others eventually forgetting the earlier conversation. However, Erina continued glancing toward the door from time to time.
Watching the sensitive and proud girl, Sui couldn't help but feel a bit helpless. It seemed she was far more affected by these things than she let on.
What surprised Sui was that Azami didn't show up by the time dinner was over.
It wasn't until Erina's restaurant closed and Alice, Rindō, and the others had left that Sui finally processed the situation.
"Is that really it for the school festival?" he muttered to himself.
"There are still a few restaurants open in the main street and central area, but yes, overall, the festival has officially ended," Hisako replied, giving him a curious glance.
"It seems like he's not showing up today," Sui thought, frowning to himself.
The only explanation for this was that Azami hadn't managed to win over enough members of the Council of Ten.
In the original story, Azami had successfully recruited six of the Ten Elites, allowing him to take over from Senzaemon as the headmaster. But it seemed that things had changed this time.
To nominate a new headmaster, Azami would need approval from more than half of the Ten Elites. If he only had five on his side, it wouldn't be enough.
"No wonder he came to see me," Sui muttered.
If Azami had already secured the majority, there would've been no reason to involve him. The fact that he had reached out meant that he was still short on support and wanted Sui to take a spot among the top ten.
"I wonder how many of the Council members he's secretly convinced," Sui pondered.
While he had a decent relationship with most of the Ten Elites, aside from Rindō, the others were more like acquaintances.
Tōsuke Megishima still owed him a favor, but he had originally been part of the rebel faction. And it was clear that the Council members wouldn't change their allegiances simply because of personal connections.
When it came to relationships, Sui had a stronger bond with people like Isshiki, Kuga and Hayama Akira. Though they bickered when they met, their bond ran deep. But even then, they found themselves on opposing sides when it mattered.
Later that evening, as usual, Sui carried Erina on his back as they returned to the mansion.
Following their routine, Sui filled a basin with warm water and prepared to massage her feet.
"You know, since the school festival is over, you don't really have to keep doing this," Erina said, blushing slightly. Even though Sui had massaged her feet every night over the past few days, she still couldn't help feeling shy.
Sui rolled his eyes and smiled. "I've done this so many times, and you're still embarrassed?"
Erina's face turned an even deeper shade of red. After hesitating for a moment, she finally asked the question that had been bothering her all evening.
"Sui, who were you waiting for earlier? Was it... a girl?"
