Chapter 1: The Blood Demon in Diagon Alley

September 1

London

Today marks the annual Hogwarts Wizarding Day. Platform nine and three-quarters was crowded with people, with parents there to see off their children. Amidst the noise, a small group of Aurors stood by the platform, staring nervously at the entrance of platform nine and three-quarters. Their nervousness cleared an open area several meters in diameter around the six of them.

Parents of students who work in the Ministry of Magic quickly recognized the distinction. The team of Aurors before them were not just ordinary Aurors, but elite Aurors—Strikers of the Ministry of Magic. Each of them had experienced countless battles, always actively fighting dark wizards, but now they appeared at the station. What could this mean? Could it be that something big was about to happen?

Just when everyone was puzzled, a boy appeared through the wall. He had slightly curly chestnut hair, dark blue pupils, firm facial features, and an extraordinarily handsome appearance. Unlike other young wizards carrying a multitude of bags, the boy was empty-handed and seemed almost leisurely. He wore a decent black Hogwarts school uniform, looking like an elegant nobleman. What drew the most attention were the two never-before-seen magical animals perched on his shoulders, resembling some kind of cats. The one on the left was purple with red eyes and had a red gemstone embedded in its forehead. The one on the right was black with gold rings. The magical animals immediately captivated many of the young wizards, particularly the girls, who found them irresistibly charming.

However, the small group of Strikers, as they waited, sensed the presence of a significant threat upon seeing the boy appear and instinctively gripped their wands. Among the powerful individuals within the crowd who recognized the boy's identity, there was horror as well. This was Kyle Mephisto, a well-known figure among the upper echelons of the British magical world. No one knew where he came from. Kyle first caught the Aurors' attention at the age of six when he killed thirteen dark wizards who plotted against him in Knockturn Alley. This earned him the reputation of "Blood Demon." From that time, he adopted the mythical demon "Mephisto" as his surname.

His origins remained unknown, his identity unverified, and the magic he excelled at was a mystery. The Ministry of Magic's Aurors could only catch glimpses of Kyle's methods by examining the corpses of the dark wizards he had killed. The ways his victims died varied greatly: ice, flames, thunder, physical impacts, and even some deaths without any apparent cause. The only known information was that Kyle seemed to possess the ability to communicate with magical animals. Various magical creatures were always by his side. Last month, Kyle received his acceptance letter to Hogwarts. According to incomplete statistics, at least 300 people had died at Kyle's hands over the past five years.

Knockturn Alley was originally a dark corner of the British wizarding world, and the Ministry of Magic has always been reluctant to interfere. But with the terrifying name of the blood demon associated with a six-year-old, no one can help but think of the term "Third Generation Dark Lord" when they see this combination. This conclusion made the Ministry of Magic panic, and they took measures against Kyle, but he had entered Azkaban three times!

The first time was when Kyle was seven years old, and he spent a week there. Azkaban blew up the night after Kyle's first day inside. The prisoners and guards only heard a roar in their ears while they were asleep, and then they saw the bright starry sky when they opened their eyes. Within a week, the buildings in Azkaban were bombed three times in a row. The higher-ups of the Ministry of Magic compromised and released Kyle due to insufficient evidence.

The second time was when Kyle was nine years old, and he was there for only three days. The dementors guarding Azkaban went on strike, stating that Kyle had a power that made them feel panic. They refused to re-enter Azkaban unless Kyle was sent away.

The third time was even shorter, lasting only a day and a night. The human guards who cooperated with the dementors were unwilling to continue. One human guard saw the dementors queuing up to worship Kyle while patrolling in the middle of the night, and he was so scared that he wet himself. A dementor in Azkaban surrendering to a prisoner was unheard of. Human guards feared they might receive a "Dementor's Kiss" that night.

As a last resort, the Ministry of Magic released Kyle once again due to a lack of evidence. There was nothing they could do about Kyle, although everyone knew he was responsible for the man's death. There were no witnesses and not enough evidence at the scene. In desperation, the Ministry of Magic concealed Kyle's news to avoid causing too much panic in wizarding society. They couldn't possibly kill a young wizard without sufficient evidence, as any forceful action would surely bring the matter to the public's attention. At that time, the leaders of the Ministry of Magic would be nailed to the pillar of shame in history. Even after-the-fact explanations would not be convincing, as people only see what they want to see. They would think it's just an excuse for the Ministry of Magic to justify their actions.

As for sending him to Azkaban for a fourth time? The dementors had surrendered. The higher-ups at the Ministry of Magic could already imagine the lively scene if Kyle returned to Azkaban, with the dementors lining up to welcome him as if he were returning as a king.
