JFU Chairman: Ego. This project is a failure.

Ego: A failure?

JFU Chairman: Only one team managed to push The World Five even slightly.

Anri: They're just kids and they are able to do that after only a month or two in Blue Lock. If anything that proves it's a success.

JFU Chairman: What proves it's a success is the money it rakes in. It doesn't generate any money and on top of that it costs a shit tonne of Yen.

Ego: You wanted the best Striker in the world and this is what it takes.

JFU Chairman: Well we're not willing to pay that cost anymore.

Ego: Alright then. How about this? An exhibition match. My Blue Lock and your U-20 Team. If you win Blue Lock is shut down. If we win you give control over the U-20 Team to me.

The JFU board members laugh out loud.

JFU Chairman: Alright then. Deal.

Announcer: Welcome. First Clear Team.

Koji's team entered through the doors.

Announcer: Welcome. Second Clear Team.

A team consisting of Barou, Chigiri, Aryu, Kiyora and Zantetsu walked out.

Rin: So you dunces made it huh?

Barou: You call me a dunce again and I'll kill ya, you shitty puppeteer.

Announcer: Welcome. Third Clear Team.

Announcer: Welcome. Fourth Clear Team.

Both times new faces showed up.

Announcer: Welcome. Fifth Clear Team.

Nikko's Team entered.

Announcer: Welcome. Sixth Clear Team.

Gagamaru, Raichi and Junichi Wanima entered the room.

Koji- They made it huh? That's good.

Announcer: Welcome. Seventh Clear Team.

A Team of Kurona, a Player whose name I don't know, Kunigami and Reo showed up.

Nagi: Reo...

Koji- He made it huh? Given his expression, I'm guessing...

Shidou arrived. 

Koji- ... Kira didn't make it.

Bachira: Huh? Where's Kira-Kun?

Shidou: Oh that guy? Ha ha. He was so weak I crushed him entirely. I couldn't even level up from beating him. He was such a slave to helping your teammates. In this place, no one gives a shit about that.

Kunigami: Hey! That's enough!

Shidou: I beat you too Mr. Hero. Remember that. So shut your mouth and be glad I picked you out of the dirt.

Kunigami: You little.

Koji: Enough Kunigami. Kira didn't make it here which means he was never meant to make it here.

Kunigami: But...

Koji: Just don't let him get under your skin.

Shidou: Treating me like I'm some NPC are you?

Shidou kicks at Koji who blocks it easily.

Koji: If you want to do this here then fine but don't regret it.

Shidou: Ha ha. I like you.

Ego: Welcome my diamonds in the rough. I'd like to tell you that you're careers are now on the line. The JFU has decided they no longer wish to invest in this project. I've organised a match with our Blue Lock going against the U-20. If you can win Blue Lock will continue but if you lose count your days as a Football Player finished.

Koji- I simply can't allow that.

Ego: In addition, they'll be adding a special guest to their rooster. Itoshi Sae.

Rin looks up. He feels no resentment anymore. He doesn't care. The only ones he feels resentment towards are the Koji and The World Five. They are the ones he wants to beat now. Whether he has to ace off against his brother or not doesn't matter to him anymore.

Ego: Now we'll be formulating formations based on the top 6 players who are;

Number 1: Ayanokoji Kiyotaka

Number 2: Itoshi Rin

Number 3: Shidou Ryusei

Shidou- Two people above me huh? Ha ha. This'll be fun.

Number 4: Karasu Tabito

Number Five: Eito Otoya

Number 6: Yukimiya Kenyu

Yukimiya: Um Ego-San. Can I ask? What's the difference between me and the top 3?

Ego laughs.

Ego: Goals against the World Five. Let me tell you;

Shidou Ryusei- 1 Goal

Itoshi Rin- 1 Goal

Ayanokoji Kiyotaka- 3 Goals 

Everyone is shocked.

Everyone (-Koji's Team)- A Hat Trick Against The World Five? Amazing.

Yukimiya- A Hat Trick...

Ego: The Top 6 will be paired.

Team A: Ayanokoji Kiyotaka + Itoshi Rin

Team B: Shidou Ryusei + Karasu Tabito

Team C: Eito Otoya + Yukimya Kenyu

Ego: The rest of you must pick teams. Then 3 of you will be selected randomly to form a team. In short, the Top 6 will have two chances to show off their eligibility but the rest of you only have one chance.

Several players gulp.

Ego: Consider this your tryouts for representing Blue Lock against the U-20 Team.

After a most tried to gravitate to Koji's team but many missed the chance by being too late.

Koji's First Match

Announcer: The Match will be the best out of three goals.

Koji and Rin lead their team in. The three other players were Kurona, Reo and Kunigami. Shidou and Karasu arrived as well. Their team was made up of Barou, Raichi and Nikko.

Shidou: You fight pretty well but I wonder if the number 1 spot is really suited for it. Ha ha.

Koji passed to Rin who rushed out onto the field getting past the other players. Karasu and Nikko moved back to defend their goal as Rin swung his leg back he faked a shot and back-heel passed the ball obstructing the view for both Karasu and Niko as Koji curved the ball from behind Rin straight into the goal.

Announcer: Goal By Ayanokoji Kiyotaka. Team A (1) : Team B (0)

Shidou's team started with the ball this time as Shidou and Barou raced upfield. Shidou passed to Barou and he then made a maneuver to get past Kunigami.

Shidou: See ya Mr. Hero.

Barou didn't pass and kept charging forward.

Shidou: Huh? You blockhead. Pass the ball.

Barou: Shut up. I'm the king!

Barou races forward but Koji steals the ball as Shidou pulls back into the defence. Koji rushes into the centre as the four players surround him.

Shidou: What are you going to do now Mr. Number 1?

Koji: I think you're overestimating your players. These guys can't stop me.

Koji nutmegs Shidou as the ball skids the ground as Kunigami slams his foot into the ball scoring a goal.

Announcer: Goal By Kunigami Rensuke. Team A (2) : Team B (0)

Kunigami: Yes!

The ball reset.

Shidou: Alright then. Last chance to shine.

Karasu runs out with the ball as Shidou tries to find his sweet spot but Koji marks him as Kunigami and Reo pressure Karasu he backs off passing back down the field to Raichi.

Karasu- It's too risky to go forward right now.

Shidou: Let me see your Ego Ayanokoji Kiyotaka!

Koji: Huh? What in the world are you talking about? Do you think a third-rate player like you can excite me?

Shidou- Huh? That look. No emotion at all. This guy's my opposite. Fuck this guy.

Suddenly Rin stole the ball and shot it straight into the goal.

Announcer: Goal By Itoshi Rin. Team A (3) : Team B (0). The Match Has concluded. Team A Wins.

Shidou: No fuck that! There is no way I didn't score a single goal. This team is fucking shit.

Koji's Second Match

Koji's three extras now included Nanase, Nagi and Bachira. Yukimya and Totya had Chigiri, Kiyora and Zatantetsu.

The match wasn't even close;

Announcer: Goal By Ayanokoji Kiyotaka. Team A (1) : Team C (0)

Announcer: Goal By Itoshi Rin. Team A (2) : Team C (0)

Announcer: Goal By Nagi Seishiro. Team A (3) : Team C (0)

The Next Day

Ego: I will Now announce the Positions. This formation will be centered around capitalising on Ayanokoji Kiyotaka's Striker Ability. He will be our Forward.

Rin- As expected. But I will surpass him someday.

Ego: Nagi Seishrio and Barou Shoiei will serve as Offensive Midfielders. Karasu Tabito will act as an anchor as our Defensive Midfielder.

Rin- Huh? What about me?

Shidou- There's no way they'd place me in any other position which means I'm benched. This is bullshit.

Karasu: I thought you'd say that.

Ego: The Left Wingback will be Bachira Meguru. The Right Wingback will be Chigiri Hyoma.

Chigiri- I made it in.

Ego: Our Defenders will be Ikki Niko and Jupei Aryu.

Junpei- I'll just have to find a way to remain glamorous as a defender.

 Ego: Our Right Wing will be Eita Otoya and Our Left Wing will be Yukimiya Kenyu.

Rin: What about me?

Ego: Go to that room. Someone's waiting for you.

Rin went to the room to find Sae waiting there.

Sae: Hello Rin.

Rin: Huh?

Sae: Play Football with me again. Just this once in front of the world.

Rin: Brother...
