The Birth of the War Goddess

-A new batch of urgent letters have arrived, where can we unload them?- asks one of the servants toward Ying SheGu, the man tilts his head slowly and freezes him in his spot before smiling softly -Leave them in my office, I'll tend to them soon so they will reach the Emperor as soon as possible-

-Sure! Good work Sir- bows the man and hurries down the hallway...

Ying SheGu stares at him with a pretended ease and clenches his jaw right after "Damnit! Urgent letters can only mean more trouble... Probably there will be something from General Wu in between, the Emperor order him to join General Cai armada only for him to ruin Miss Ying. My deal is at stake here"

He begins to walk faster as those thoughts roam around his mind "The Emperor is definitely not in the state to tend to such matters... He would probably issue a death sentence right in the spot and I just know she took appropriate measures for that... I can practically see the 4th Prince and Wang ChiaHao pointing a knife to my neck, waiting to stick if they found me at fault"

A loud bang distracts him and he recollects himself, a dangling figure bursts out of a room while hitting against the doors and falls on the carpet of the hallway -Your Majesty...- he greets toward the man on the floor

-Why are you looking down on me uh?!- he yells -I cannot possibly do it any other way I'm afraid, since My Lord is on the floor as for now- the laying man grunts -Help me up-

-Yes, Your Majesty- he gently grabs his arms and rises him them proceeds to tidy his clothes -It seems like you were enjoying your time with the dancers I gifted you, My Lord-

A few women waves from inside the room and laughs at the words of the men -What else am I supposed to do anyway?! Let go of me!!! Tz- he shrugs his counselor away and dives back into the room -Go tend to the Royal burdens while I take a breather, I'll be there for tomorrow's talks- he orders and closes the doors behind himself.

"The Nation is falling apart and all he knows to do is get drunk while dwelling in pleasure, killing off anyone who even so slightly annoys him... Well, I knew that it would have came down to this when I chose this course of actions, he's playing his role perfectly. Still, it's unbelievable how much he doesn't care".

He makes his way toward his offfice and begins sorting out the urgent letters which have been hurriedly sent back by special couriers.

Finally he finds the only letter he was genuinely interested in... From General Wu, obviously -This letter shall be the first one the Emperor examines tomorrow. I need him to be in a good mood and slightly drugged... I should also work the ministers my way, they shouldn't pose that much of a problem but he and his temper are unpredictable-

He opens the envelope and starts reading, trying to learn the words used in the letter so he will be able to turn them around when needed. -Accused of working with the enemy uhm... That's not going to be easy to settle- he murmurs -Maybe if I manage to shift the blame on someone else outside of the picture... No she wouldn't allow for an innocent person to be punished in her stead, so I would end up paying for it too. Let's read it once again... Word my word:

"Your Majesty.

I write you to ask for your's, and your trusted ones, enlightenment over a terrible matter that has arisen in our Army... I will try to lay down the facts I collected as neutrally as possible and swear not to allow any personal emotion to interfere.

Just recently the soldier known to us all as Miss Ying ChangLai has been unofficially promoted as TongJun without the blessings of Your Majesty, normally immediate lower ranked promotions wouldn't require a formal process but since we're talking about a very important and decisive role... I'm sure everyone would agree with me that for such a promotion, the candidate would need to be meticulously examinated and should hold the men's trust. Which is clearly not the case seeing as my men oppose to this decision to this day.

But that is not yet the main reason for my report.

Recently the soldiers decided to hold a frugal festival or something of the sorts, to boost their morale. During such event, our Camp got attacked.

The curious thing is how just before the attack occurred, some of my men reported having seem Miss Ying leaving the camp, venturing alone toward a nearby forest...

When the attack happened we defended ourselves as best as possible but got pushed at our limit. Just before a full extermination, Miss Ying appeared. She announced her arrival when being already far from us and quickly came to rescue us all. The rescue itself proceed smoothly enough after her aid.

Yet I couldn't shake off the feeling of oddness from her timing, I asked her why she left and she replied that someone drugged her and so she run away, being afraid of hurting someone in her weakened state... Obviously she had no way to prove her words, especially because no drugs are currently available on camp. The only thing that could have clouded her mind would have been wine from the festivities.

Although her perfect rescue, which got loudly announced for everyone to notice, still puzzles me... I don't want to go so far as to accuse her of planning that in a way of showing us her value and worth, wanting to prove herself to be fit for the role of TongJun. Still, a soldier should never push aside their duties as happened... Nor drink to the point of blanking out in a moment of need, I see that as a neglecting of one's duty which is a severe crime.

She still claims to have been drugged and by saying that she run away to avoid any damage, I am left with one concern... Does this mean that Miss Ying is a potential threat for our men if she ever happened to lose control? We all witnesses her powers, capable of wiping hundreds of men alone... If she was to be declared innocent by the dereliction of duty accuse, would it still be safe to allow her in between our men being so dangerous?

This is all for my report"-

Ying SheGu stares at the letter for a couple of minutes -This is... Impossible to overturn-
