The Beast Tamer Is A Slime

Chapter 5: “A Mutated Slime”

Expectations was full, but reality was skinny.

The slime dragged its "melting" body and only moved an inch.

Silence.

Complete silence.

The man and the slime looked at each other with dazed eyes.

Both of them had ellipsis and countless crows cawing in their minds.

Ka…ka…ka…

The man had another attack of second-hand embarrassment, and the slime simply stopped moving, as if accepting his impending doom.

Just kill him.

He couldn't even "walk" normally.

Shame on his entire family!

Seeing the slime like this, as if too lazy to move, the other five people snapped out of their shock and suddenly chattered like noisy birds at the bird market.

The man who attacked Neo was the first to exclaim.

"Guys! Did you see this slime? It's golden!"

"Hold on, hold on, John. I saw the slime you are talking about, but did I see it right? Am I not hallucinating?"

A brunette woman rubbed her eyes in disbelief as she looked at the "melting" slime on the ground.

"Was that really the system's unique skill effect? The one that appears only when we use a skill?" She added.

"You saw it right, Remy! What other effects can be as cringe and embarrassing as the system's special effects?"

Tom, a wretched-looking man, rubbed his arms full of goosebumps, acting as if he wanted to puke on the spot.

Another young man, looking thin and weak with freckles on his face, couldn't help but interrupt Tom's speech with a trembling voice.

"B-but, Tom, aren't the system skill's special effects exclusive to us, the awakened hunters? E-even those top beasts, the dungeon bosses, don't have such a privilege!"

"What the fck Charlie, you call this a privilege? I might as well never use a single skill in my entire life!"

Tom waved his hands in disgust.

"Oh, but I still need my skills. Of course, if it's you, maybe you can really never use your useless skills for life."

Tom sneered at Charlie, turning the young man's red with embarrassment.

Seeing Tom bullying Charlie and Remy stealing glances at the strange slime, Lina, a blonde woman with a strong aura, finally interfered.

"Hey, hey, hey, Tom, Remy, Charlie, focus on that slime! That slime is not normal!"

Lina pinched her temple and looked at the last hunter in the group, an elegant young man wearing glasses, who looked the most reliable among the group of fools.

"Daniel, do you know something? What's wrong with that golden slime? This is the first slime we met, but it's already so strange."

Daniel heard the concern in Lina's question and immediately tried to console her.

"Well, I'm not sure, Lina. Maybe it is a mutated slime? Look, it's much smaller than an ordinary slime, only as big as a palm, and yeah, it's golden."

At the moment, the hunters were still shocked at the sight of a slime using the system's special effect and were busy discussing the newly discovered wonder of the world, completely ignoring the little slime.

However, Neo was even more shocked than these human beings.

His body wriggled at the speed of light and returned to its round shape.

The slime subconsciously "perked" its "ears", blatantly eavesdropping on the unaware hunters.

What did he hear just now?

Awakened hunters? Beasts? Dungeon bosses? System? Skills?

It turned out he was transmigrated into the world of dungeons, beasts and awakened beings, a common world setting in many popular manhwas!

But he wasn't happy at all.

If Neo had a human face, his face would have turned as pale as a ghost.

He thought he finally got the system, a golden finger that only transmigrators would have.

But the God of transmigration once again slapped him on the face.

Everyone here, such as the people who were hunting him, had a system and skills.

He wasn't that special.

Oh, wait. He indeed became a special slime.

What he did just now undoubtedly aroused the hunters' curiosity even more.

A slime that could use the skill effect that only awakened hunters could use.

A golden palm-sized slime...

It was possibly a rare mutated slime.

Actually, a mutated slime sounded dangerous, and these F-rank hunters entering an F-rank slime dungeon would definitely be afraid of such an uncontrollable factor.

But looking at the "badly destroyed pebble", the masterpiece of his attack just now…

Who would be scared?

Only he was scared silly!

Neo was hit hard.

The slime instantly melted for the second time, not wanting to move.

Destroy it all.

He's just a slime, a beast waiting to be killed or tamed by some random beast tamers out there.

His whole body would be used as materials, fetching a high price.

The only thing that could console him temporarily was that these hunters couldn't possibly tame him on the spot without a beast tamer or an expensive beast contract scroll.

So they would either capture him alive without a contract and auction him, or kill him to avoid future problems.

Even so, no matter what the hunters planned to do, Neo felt that he could do nothing to resist.

Just like Neo's guess, the hunters were shocked and wary at first, but seeing how weak the slime was, they became greedy.

They immediately surrounded the slime on the ground, intending to capture it alive.

Still, a few hunters, especially the cautious Lina and the cowardly Charlie, didn't agree to capture the slime alive.

"G-guys, let's just kill it! W-what if its parents are also mutated slimes? If we kidnap their cub, t-they might hunt us and we will die!"

Charlie stuttered and backed away from the slime, as if it was a scourge.

Even Neo, who was laying down waiting for death, couldn't help but notice this extremely cowardly hunter.

Someone could still be afraid of him after that embarrassing acid spray attack?

Wow. Take another look.

This hunter is such a disgrace to the hunter circle!

The other five hunters all furrowed their eyebrows at Charlie's cowardice, but Lina, the leader of their group, also supported the young man's idea.

"Everyone, let's not take a risk."
