The Almighty Diva: Reborn to be Worshipped

Chapter 12: The Scandal Unveiled: A Fall from Grace

Bo Yanchen had already been there for half an hour.

He had dropped Ji Chuxing off at school that morning, and the little girl seemed unenthusiastic about her studies, which worried him. Moreover, her quiet nature made him fear she might be bullied.

Of course, he now held Ji Chuxing's report card from the Qihang Class, and his head was throbbing.

The principal, who hadn't anticipated Bo Yanchen's visit, responded with utmost respect: "Please rest assured, Second Master. While Nan City No. 1 High School may not excel in every aspect, our commitment to holistic education is unparalleled. If Miss Ji shows no interest in academics, we offer a variety of art programs tailored to individual talents."

Bo Yanchen nodded approvingly.

The principal then asked hesitantly, "Since you're here, would you like to meet Miss Ji?"

Bo Yanchen shook his head. "No need. She has her pride. Discovering that I've seen her failing grades might upset her. It's better if she remains unaware of my visit."

The principal struggled to comprehend why Bo Yanchen, a prominent figure from North City, would take such an interest in a rural girl from the Ji family in Nan City. However, Bo Yanchen's presence today carried a clear message of support for the young girl. Sensing the principal's bewilderment, he explained in a measured tone, "She is the child of an elder relative. During my stay in Nan City, I've taken it upon myself to look after her."

The principal immediately understood. He realized that Ji Chuxing would require special attention moving forward. Just as he prepared to escort Bo Yanchen out, the assistant burst into the room, breathless. "Principal! Something terrible has happened!"

The principal's heart sank. "Surveillance footage of bullying in the Qihang Class has appeared on the school's electronic display!"

The incident was sudden and shocking. The large screen, typically reserved for broadcasting significant announcements, now aired footage of several students—including Class Monitor Sun and others who had bullied Ji Chuxing earlier that day—engaging in violent behavior against her and other classmates over recent weeks.

The broadcast office staff hadn't noticed the unauthorized transmission until students began gathering around the screen. By then, it was dismissal time, and the crowd quickly grew. Parents arriving to pick up their children also witnessed the footage, sparking outrage. No one could have imagined such severe bullying occurring within Nan City's most prestigious high school.

Parents' anger flared almost immediately, with some even calling the principal directly. Overwhelmed, the principal recalled his earlier assurances to Bo Yanchen about the school's dedication to student welfare. Now, those words rang hollow.

"How could this happen!" the principal lamented inwardly.

Parents were livid. Who would have thought their children shared classrooms with such bullies? Today, they targeted underperforming students—but what guarantee was there that their own children wouldn't be next?

Bo Yanchen, too, watched the footage intently. Despite her hair partially obscuring her face, he recognized Ji Chuxing instantly. In the video, dead mice and cockroaches had been stuffed into her desk. She sat huddled in the corner of the last row, surrounded by fruit peels and empty drink pouches. Though the clip lasted mere seconds, Bo Yanchen's expression darkened with each passing frame.

In the background, whispers among students filled the air.

"I've never liked that Sun kid. He struts around like he owns the place just because his family runs a medical practice with ties to the city's elite. Without them, Nan City wouldn't survive, apparently!"

"Exactly. What arrogance. With a son like that, who can trust the Sun family's medical ethics? Not me."

The murmurs gradually faded. Bo Yanchen murmured under his breath, "The Sun family..."

His aide, Fang He, interjected cautiously, "Sir, the Sun family of Nan City once boasted Old Master Sun, hailed as the city's finest physician. But this generation pales in comparison—they merely trade on his legacy."

Bo Yanchen chuckled coldly. "If that's the case, then perhaps the Sun family's fortunes are nearing their end."

Fang He shuddered, sensing the weight behind his master's words. Only now did he realize just how fiercely protective Bo Yanchen could be.

Given the gravity of the situation, Nan City No. 1 High School acted swiftly. Beyond issuing public apologies and placing the offenders on probation, the principal—mindful of Bo Yanchen's presence and his vested interest in Ji Chuxing—decided to expel the perpetrators outright. A formal announcement followed shortly thereafter, sealing the fate of Sun Han and his cohorts.

For students attending this elite institution, expulsion was the only measure sufficient to quell parental fury. The principal's stress levels soared as he grappled with the fallout.

Meanwhile, other students in the Qihang Class who had turned a blind eye to Ji Chuxing's plight began to feel uneasy. Zhou Ru, in particular, found herself grappling with conflicting emotions.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, satisfied parents dispersed, leaving the campus quiet once more. Ji Chuxing emerged slowly, her backpack slung casually over one shoulder, savoring a piece of orange-flavored candy. Oblivious to the day's drama, she seemed content.

Zhou Ru waited patiently at the school gate. "Xiaoxing..."
