Sang Nian’s head was about to explode when he heard this, and he almost cried after realizing who he had just shouted at, “Boss, watch the TV, watch the TV—!”
Lu Xiao slightly frowned and turned his gaze to the television.
On the TV, in a palace drama, a stunningly beautiful woman dressed in a splendid phoenix robe, sitting in a high position, waved her large sleeve and scolded the people kneeling before her, “A bunch of useless fools! Drag them out and execute them by beating—hit them to death with sticks—!”
Hiding behind Lu Xiao, a barely adult Sang Nian sneakily glanced at the scene on the TV and immediately felt a tightening sensation.
His body trembled as if he were the one kneeling on the ground begging for mercy, his tears and snot running as he was ruthlessly dragged away, just like the pitiful eunuch in the scene.
He would have never imagined that the woman on the TV, glamorous and sexy on the international red carpets, was the same woman throwing a tantrum in the room just a moment ago!
Seeing this scene, Lu Xiao’s body also stiffened a bit.
The mailroom elder, Mr. Li, slapped his thigh and let out a loud laughter, “Hahaha, well done! That’s how you should deal with them!”
Tibetan lad Zha Xi, “Hee-hee, my wife is so cool!”
Lu Xiao, “…”
Tears streaming down his face, Sang Nian, “…”
Zha Xi was immersed in the otherworldly beauty of his idol, suddenly noticing Captain’s gaze sweeping over.
Zha Xi quietly lowered the hand he was clapping, “Wh-what’s wrong, Captain…?”
Lu Xiao, “Who is your wife?”
“Ah, ah…??”
Zha Xi was confused, used to their boss’s seriousness and not getting the joke, which was too much out of date for him to explain.
Lu Xiao didn’t wait for an explanation and simply walked past him.
Sang Nian hurriedly scurried after him.
Upstairs.
Lu Xiao picked up a handbag with an ‘H’ logo, and as it clattered onto the table, various items fell out: a passport, lipstick, a protective cover, sunscreen, and finally, two—sanitary pads.
The air suddenly fell silent.
Sang Nian’s face turned embarrassed.
Lu Xiao bypassed the two pink-wrapped items and picked up her passport again.
He had checked before, the identity information was real.
Sang Nian was just an adult, and having such a figure who he idolized in this sort of place made him feel uneasy and restless.
He muttered, “Boss, now I understand the meaning behind her words earlier. She’s a big star, known by everyone. How could she stoop to do something like sneaking photographs!? That’s mainly done by those short of money— ”
“Enough.”
Lu Xiao cut him off, paused for a moment, then said in a deep voice, “I don’t know her, and we can’t let our guard down because of her status. Anyone could—”
“She has a nine-figure fortune.”
“Shut up, it’s not about the money!”
Indeed, it wasn’t about the money. Some people did these things purely might be arranged by foreigners. Nevertheless, Lu Xiao had to admit, that did remove her motive.
Eating well, drinking well, enjoying high standards of treatment, popular and profitable, such people are the happiest among others, why would she then stoop to that level?
Lu Xiao frowned and looked out of the spacious window.
Sang Nian was disarrayed because he had berated her earlier.
No wonder he felt she looked familiar, but who would have guessed she would come to such a desolate place!? And even if she did, who could have imagined the gentle, beautiful woman with outstanding demeanor on TV would act like a foul-mouthed shrew!?
“Boss, let’s let her out.”
