Sweet slice-of-life love story: Wife, Let's love again

Chapter 21: Chapter 21: Some People Should Catch Up on Their Studies

Qin Guanglin slowly propped himself up. The atmosphere now was different from when they were on the boat. He felt everything was natural, without the tension from before, only a sense of heart-pounding excitement.

Looking at He Fang's clean little face, he closed his eyes and leaned in. Unlike the first time's electric numbness, he only felt a fragrant softness.

After two seconds, Qin Guanglin pulled back and opened his eyes to look at the little angel in front of him.

"If a person is like a rainbow, you will only know once you meet them."

It turned out this was what being in love felt like. So wonderful, he felt willing to do anything for her.

He Fang slowly opened her eyes and blinked at him.

"That's it?"

"Huh?" Qin Guanglin was taken aback. "Wasn't that enough?"

"…" He Fang was also stunned. "So men aren't born knowing how to do this?"

???

Qin Guanglin felt a little confused. "Know how to do what?"

She suddenly seemed a bit angry, sitting up and staring at him, "You tricked me."

"How would I ever trick you?" Qin Guanglin was surprised.

"…"

He Fang lifted her head to think, then suddenly laughed, "Hmm, you wouldn't trick me."

After saying that, she lay back down, "You just haven't figured it out, too young."

"You're two years younger than me." Qin Guanglin complained, "Figure out what?"

"I'll teach you this time." He Fang found it funnier and covered her mouth with her hand, "Oh, I've been laughing all day, my mouth hurts."

Qin Guanglin was speechless. "Then don't laugh. What's so funny?"

"Because you're my boyfriend, seeing you makes me happy." He Fang's voice sounded muffled, her mouth covered by her hand.

He heard He Fang's words, his heart skipped a beat, and then he thought it might be true. Seeing He Fang made him happy too. "Then hold it in and stop laughing."

"I can't help it, just feel like laughing." He Fang rolled twice on the bed, "Don't be such a fool to always make me laugh."

"I'm not a fool." Qin Guanglin frowned, pondered, and then got a cup from the desk, "Drink some warm water to ease it a bit."

He Fang sat up and drank two sips from the cup, "I'll give you a lesson another day. Don't make me laugh anymore today."

"You stop giggling foolishly." He took the cup back, put it on the desk, and sat down to look at her, "You're the real fool."

"Hug me." He Fang opened her arms.

"Isn't that inappropriate?" Qin Guanglin hesitated. She was lying flat, so hugging her would mean pressing on her, which didn't seem right.

"Hurry, lie down." She reached out to pull him a couple of times.

Qin Guanglin hesitated but lay down. He Fang instantly snuggled into his arms, shifted a bit to find a comfortable position, and closed her eyes, "I'll rest for a while. If I fall asleep, remember to wake me up around eight."

"Okay." He slowly lowered his hand, placing it on He Fang's back carefully. His tense body gradually relaxed.

He Fang nudged like a cat, "Just like this, stop fidgeting."

Qin Guanglin looked down at her, his heart gradually calming. A faint fragrance lingered around his nose, unsure whether it was shampoo or body wash; it just smelled particularly nice.

Holding the soft and fragrant small body in his arms felt exceptionally comfortable. There was a sudden urge to hold tighter — he subconsciously tightened his arms, bringing them closer together.

He Fang grumbled discontentedly, rubbing her small head against Qin Guanglin. He quickly stopped moving, allowing the sweet and ambiguous atmosphere to quietly rise in the quiet bedroom.

This must be what's called "soft jade and warm fragrance," he thought silently. He felt his body reacting and awkwardly forced himself to divert his attention, thinking about something else.

Hmm, He Fang majored in literature and wrote novels herself. People who are into creative work might not show much outwardly, but their emotions deep inside are delicate, complex, and intense.

While his own painting was also creative work, it leaned more towards art. His personality differed from most, the most noticeable being that he was more solitary, disliked noisy environments and dealing with various social interactions. He preferred being alone, quietly thinking or creating, which was hard for others to understand. You could say it was lonely.

When the traits of the two people collided, an interesting chemical reaction occurred, which might explain why their relationship developed so quickly… Qin Guanglin felt he had guessed the truth. This explanation seemed very reasonable. Otherwise, it would be hard to explain why they developed so fast. Mere mutual affection could not have brought them to this point. During dinner, he even had the illusion that he and He Fang were a family.

He Fang's breathing gradually steadied, seemingly asleep. They had indeed had a very exhausting day.

Qin Guanglin gently stroked her back, pondering how they should proceed in the future.

At the current pace, it wouldn't take long for them to take the next step, so careful planning was necessary. Finding a stable job soon was also very crucial.

Lost in thoughts about future plans, Qin Guanglin was interrupted by a sudden ding on his phone. He reached over, set it to silent, and then checked the message; it was from his university roommate, Sun Wen.

Sun Wen: Lin, are you looking for a job now?

Forest: Yes, I want to find a stable job. Got one to introduce to me?

Sun Wen: What a coincidence, the studio I'm at is hiring. I happened to see your post and wondered if you'd want to give it a try.

Forest: What kind of studio?

Sun Wen: It's a comic studio, not a big one but it produces quality work. I think there's potential for growth. You might consider it.

Forest: I don't know much about comics. Is it about sketching and drawing drafts?

Sun Wen: I'm in charge of coloring and post-production. You could consider illustration and hand-drawing work. Tomorrow at work, I'll take some pictures to show you.

Forest: Alright, thanks in advance. Where is your studio? I'll visit tomorrow and let's have a meal together.

Sun Wen: Sure, I'll send you the details shortly.

With a few exchanges, they set it up. Qin Guanglin put down the phone and hugged He Fang again, thinking about arrangements for tomorrow.

"What time is it?" He Fang, who woke up at some point, asked softly with her eyes still closed.

He looked at his watch, "It's only half-past seven. You can sleep a bit longer."

"That's nice." Her small hands tightened around Qin Guanglin's waist, "Can cuddle a while more."

"Yes, it is nice." Qin Guanglin stroked her back, fully agreeing.

"Is it comfortable holding me?" He Fang still had her eyes closed, curled cat-like in his embrace without moving.

"…Comfortable, I really like it." Qin Guanglin gave her a gentle squeeze.

"I also like being held by you."

She felt Qin Guanglin's movement, her petite body squirmed slightly to fit more snugly, allowing him to hold tighter.

"Stop moving," Qin Guanglin said a bit shyly, as her little wriggles made him react once more.

"What is it?" He Fang seemed to sense something, uneasily shifting again.

"You…" Qin Guanglin was deeply embarrassed, the thin clothes of this season hardly helped conceal anything.

He Fang lifted her head to look at him, after a moment seemed to understand, secretly laughed, and buried her head back down. However, she obediently stayed still this time.

Qin Guanglin blushed, looking elsewhere. Even when the small body in his arms was still, its warm and soft sensation lingered persistently.

"Stop thinking about nonsense," He Fang's voice came muffled from his chest.

"I wasn't!" Qin Guanglin said a bit aggrieved. It wasn't something he could control fully.

"If you dare think, I'll bite you," she threatened quietly.

"…"
