chapter 15
Chapter 15: Campus Queen: Missing You, Brother (1/2)
Fang Zhou was an atheist, but when he opened his eyes to find someone standing in front of him, he initially thought he was hallucinating.
His mouth was about to scream.
As he looked closely, he saw that the ghost’s face looked exactly like Chu Xinran’s, and he swallowed it back down.
Chu Xinran was wearing a pure white dress, with her hair scattered around. Without the moonlight, it was hard to tell.
When Fang Zhou woke up, she smiled as if she was about to say something, and Fang Zhou quickly made a silent gesture.
“Shh!”
Chu Xinran, however, seemed not to understand his gesture, and was mumbling something in her mouth.
Luckily, her voice was soft and Fang Zhou couldn’t hear it.
He quickly looked up to see the position of the camera, and was relieved that it was already covered, and couldn’t see the scene in the cave.
This reality dating show, in pursuit of authenticity, is 24-hour live, even when the guests sleep, there will be a camera monitoring the living room.
This includes the two people sleeping in the cave and the two people sleeping in the tent, who are all covered by a camera.
Fang Zhou rubbed his heart with his hand, where the sensation was intense and jumping wildly.
He was incredibly relieved that Sun Haochen had covered the camera.
Or is it Sun Haochen?
“Damn it, there are other people in the cave too!”
Startled, Fangzhou quickly glanced over at Sun Haotian. Under the dim light, he was completely wrapped in a sleeping bag, invisible.
Only then did he relax.
For some reason, Chu Xinran suddenly let out a low laugh.
“Hehehe…”
Stop laughing, granny! Once your voice is out, the whole internet knows you’re sleepwalking!
Fangzhou hurriedly crawled out of his sleeping bag, covering Chu Xinran’s mouth while pulling her towards the cave’s exit.
If someone from the villa came out and saw this scene, they might call the police on the spot, suspecting a kidnapper.
By the bright moonlight, Fangzhou led Chu Xinran to the coast not far from the cave before finally letting go of her hand.
Chu Xinran was now obedient, neither laughing nor speaking, just staring at Fangzhou with her big round eyes.
If Fangzhou didn’t know about Chu Xinran’s sleepwalking problem, he might have thought she was possessed by something filthy.
“Hasn’t your sleepwalking been under control for a long time? Why has it started again?”
Fangzhou looked at Chu Xinran with concern, feeling a headache coming on.
Three years ago, when he was still in college and together with Chu Xinran, he knew about her sleepwalking issue.
Back then, living together, Fangzhou would often have to go out in the middle of the night to find her. Fortunately, Chu Xinran wouldn’t go far and would quickly return on her own.
The three months Fangzhou spent with her were nerve-wracking.
Later, he heard from her roommate that Chu Xinran’s sleepwalking hadn’t occurred for a long time.
Unexpectedly, on the first day on the island, it started again.
Fangzhou felt relieved in his heart, thankful that it was him she encountered. If it had been someone else, who knows what bad things might have happened.
Chu Xinran, in her sleepwalking state, couldn’t understand a word Fangzhou was saying.
She looked at Fangzhou, tilted her head slightly, and with her mouth opening and closing, uttered a very soft sound.
“Em…brace…”
Chapter 15: School Beauty: Missing You, Brother (2/2)
Fangzhou frowned slightly, only catching one word, and asked in confusion, “What ’embrace’? Are you looking for a bag?”
As soon as he finished speaking, he saw Chu Xinran falling forward, and he quickly reached out to support her.
Chu Xinran opened her arms and threw herself into Fangzhou’s embrace, her hands winding tightly around his waist like vines.
Only then did Fangzhou realize that she wasn’t asking for a ‘bag’ but for an ’embrace’.
The unique fragrance of a girl immediately filled Fangzhou’s senses, the softness in his arms felt almost surreal, with only her shiny black hair fluttering in the wind.
“Missing you… Brother.”
Her warm breath brushed against Fangzhou’s neck, and as she was held in his arms, her nose just poked at his collarbone.
Chu Xinran’s voice was soft and gentle, almost like a murmur, barely audible unless listened to carefully. But this time, Fang Zhou understood every single word.
In that moment, with the salty sea breeze on their faces, it wasn’t just the girl’s fresh scent that enveloped him, but also the sweet memories of the year they spent together.
When Chu Xinran was a sophomore, Fang Zhou was already a senior. They met at a college evening party.
Fang Zhou’s class was preparing a graduation performance and needed to borrow people from the juniors and sophomores. Chu Xinran, being talented, was naturally recruited.
Fang Zhou was in charge of a major program, and Chu Xinran became his leading lady.
Both on stage and behind the scenes, they worked closely together. During rehearsals, they hit it off.
Back then, Fang Zhou was still a greenhorn, pulling out all the stops to pursue Chu Xinran. Fortunately, as the saying goes, ‘Heaven rewards the diligent,’ and he truly won her over.
Love during student days is so pure, untainted by anything but affection. Even doing nothing at all, they felt blissful together.
On every date, Chu Xinran’s favorite thing was to quietly embrace Fang Zhou, sitting on the Lover’s Slope at school, watching the black swans glide across the lake.
Their nicknames for each other were sweet too; Chu Xinran called him ‘Brother,’ and he called her ‘Baby.’
So when Chu Xinran called out ‘Brother,’ Fang Zhou’s mind went blank for a moment, frozen, lost in memories.
It wasn’t until he felt a slight wetness on his neck that he snapped back to reality.
It was something soft and moist, gently sliding up and down there.
Realizing what it was, he became flustered and quickly pulled away from Chu Xinran.
“Stop messing around.”
Fang Zhou hadn’t expected her to do such a thing while sleepwalking and hurriedly moved away.
But Chu Xinran still stared straight at him with wide eyes, muttering, “Missing you…”
At that moment, Chu Xinran was like a deer that had strayed into a forest cabin, willing to let the owner do anything to her.
Fang Zhou, with a headache, simply let go of Chu Xinran’s hand, wondering if she would return to her room on her own.
Logically, she should have gone back by now after coming out for a while.
However, after Fang Zhou let go, Chu Xinran moved, but towards the sea.
Had Fang Zhou not been quick to grab her, she might have been overwhelmed by the waves!
“Lady, when will you go back?”
Chu Xinran didn’t answer, but followed his hand and embraced Fang Zhou once more.
Fang Zhou, resigned, just stood there, waiting for her to return on her own.
He consoled himself: Forget it, why bother with a sleepwalker? It’s good as long as she’s safe.
Behind Fang Zhou, where he couldn’t see, the girl’s lips curled into a small dimple, a look of satisfaction and perhaps a hint of triumph.
