Chapter 40: Chapter 40

Vampires are supernatural beings that sustain themselves by drinking the blood of humans or other creatures to achieve prolonged survival. They typically possess handsome or beautiful appearances, pale skin, and blood-red lips. Additionally, they boast incredible speed and unimaginable strength. Apart from their fatal weaknesses, they are impervious to any other form of attack. With immortality and superior intelligence, they consider themselves a race beyond humanity.

In their eyes, humans are nothing more than slaves who supply food, no different from pigs or dogs in the eyes of humans!

Now, in this dimly lit alley, Alex is about to meet these legendary supernatural beings—vampires.

"Whoosh!"

The vampire's speed is fast. At such a close distance, it is nearly impossible for an ordinary person to even catch a glimpse. The girl only saw a flash, and the terrifying creatures had already appeared beside the young man.

"Die!"

The handsome appearance cannot conceal the ferocity on his face, with bloodshot eyes glowing with a thirst for blood. To the vampires, Alex is nothing more than a lamb waiting to be slaughtered!

"You're the one who's going to die!"

In a split second, Alex made his move, like an arrow released from a bow, charging forward.

"Boom!"

"Boom!"

With two deafening crashes, Alex slammed the two vampires into the ground with both hands. The crude floor immediately cracked into deep fissures, caving in a large area.

"Ah—Ah—"

Two piercing screams rang out as the vampires coughed up blood in large mouthfuls, their breaths shallow and labored. In an instant, they had no strength left even to move a finger.

"Heh!"

Alex casually shook his hands and stood up, his gaze fixed on the vampires before him, who were trembling in terror. The force of at least five tons was more than enough to crush these vampires!

However, these vampires were no ordinary creatures. After careful observation, Alex noticed that the two heavily injured vampires were quickly recovering, though not as fast as Weapon Eleven. Still, they were regenerating several times faster than an ordinary human. After a brief moment, they began showing signs of being able to rise.

"You… you bastard…"

A few vampires looked at Alex with disbelief, specifically at the crimson cross in his eyes. Though they, as members of the Blood Clan, weren't as terrified of crosses as those from novels or movies, the deeply ingrained memory of being hunted by the church since the 14th century still caused them to instinctively fear crosses.

"Impressive, no wonder there are so many 'Ha Gui' families in society!" Alex remarked, ignoring their shock and observing the two vampires slowly crawling to their feet.

The "Ha Gui" family, as Alex called it, referred to humans who voluntarily became vampires. They pledged loyalty and everything they had to vampires in exchange for the vampire's initial embrace, thus becoming true vampires. To expand their power, vampires deliberately recruited vast numbers of Ha Gui, infiltrating all corners of human society.

In a sense, the "Ha Gui" were even more despicable than traitors, for they betrayed all of humanity!

"Kill him! We must kill him!"

Despite being nearly defeated, the two vampires were not intimidated and instead charged forward again, followed by the other vampires, all of them rallying their courage.

Recently, the vampire clan had infiltrated every level of human society, becoming a powerful force. Even the so-called "superheroes" revered by newspapers and humans dared not provoke them lightly. Over time, the entire vampire clan developed the mindset of "Blood Clan is invincible," so a mere boy like Alex was nothing to fear.

"Good, I love fighting with those who don't know when to quit!" Alex grinned, eager for the battle.

The more reckless they were, the easier it would be for him to gain experience, which he naturally enjoyed. After all, the stronger his opponents, the better the rewards for his powers.

Curious about whether the vampires contained as much elven energy as Weapon Eleven, Alex couldn't wait to "taste" a vampire's essence!

The vampires' speed was incredibly fast, far surpassing that of humans, but to Alex, it was like watching ants crawl. He locked on to the first vampire charging toward him and made his move.

"Shenming Style Palm Technique: Sakura Tower Moonlight!"

Elven energy gathered in his palm and struck the vampire's chest. With a soft "thud," the elven energy surged through him like a mighty river, instantly destroying all vitality within his body.

"Vroom!"

Immediately afterward, a strange vibration resonated in the ears of the remaining vampires, leaving them stupefied: their fellow vampire had turned into countless tiny particles, absorbed by Alex's eyes!

"Run! Run now!" The leader of the vampires screamed in horror and turned to flee.

The others hesitated for a moment before scrambling after him, rushing to escape as fast as they could.

Alex's attack had been clear—he hadn't struck the vampire clan's fatal weakness. Yet, that strike had still killed their comrade!

What did this mean?

It meant that the boy before them possessed unconventional methods of killing vampires!

Realizing this, the intelligent vampires knew they couldn't afford to stay. They immediately used all their speed to relay this discovery to the Vampire Elders and their leader.

However—

After absorbing one of the vampires, Alex was stunned to discover that the elven energy he gained from that vampire was worth about a quarter of Weapon Eleven's power. In other words, as long as Alex had enough vampires to absorb, his eyes would rapidly evolve. Naturally, he wouldn't let these vampires escape!

"Stay right there!"

Alex laughed heartily, his cross vanishing from his eyes, replaced by a deep, blood-red hue. With a soft "clang," his dagger was drawn in an instant and wielded like a sword.

"Shenming Style Secret Sword: Hundred Flowers Chaotic Slash!"

The dagger slid down, and a sharp sword energy was unleashed, cutting through the air, traveling several meters in an instant, and striking the spot where the vampires had just appeared. The explosion that followed was deafening!

"Boom!"

A tremendous explosion rang out, sending a cloud of smoke several meters high. Several vampires, caught off guard by the sudden blow, were obliterated, their bodies torn apart and sent tumbling to the ground.

Even more deadly, the elven energy wreaked havoc on the vampires' bodies. The sword energy, designed to slay demons, was naturally anathema to the vampire race. Under the assault of elven energy, their bodies' recovery rate was significantly slowed. It would be impossible for them to rise again in less than an hour!

"What a pity!"

After his successful strike, Alex switched back to his "Extermination Eye" mode. Ignoring the astonished looks of the Asian girl watching from the side, he walked over to the vampires' bodies.

The "pity" Alex felt wasn't about the vampires—he was lamenting the lack of flowers around him to perfect his sword technique.

The Hundred Flowers Chaotic Slash relied on wind and magical energy channeled through the blade to knock down enemies with a linear attack. The sword energy's shockwave was so powerful that it sent nearby petals flying. This technique was aptly named because of the swirling petals during the execution.

However, Alex was disappointed by the lack of flowers, which prevented him from fully expressing the technique's full elegance and power!

"Vroom!"

"Vroom!"

"Vroom!"

The same vibrating sound repeated, and aside from one vampire crushed under Alex's foot, all others were converted into elven energy, absorbed by the Extermination Eye.

Once done, Alex crouched down, using his dagger to tap the vampire's face in a playful manner before flipping the blade to rest at his pale throat.

"You…" The vampire's pupils contracted in terror as he looked at Alex in absolute fear.

"I think you'll tell me what I want to know, right?"

"..."

Feeling the chill at his throat, the vampire finally experienced the sensation of approaching death. In that moment, all thoughts of "Blood Clan glory" were cast aside, replaced only by the desperate thirst for survival.

He nodded quickly, fearing Alex might kill him without warning!

"Heh…"

Seeing the vampire behave even more obediently than a grandson, Alex chuckled lightly…
