SUPERMAN: THE MAN OF STEEL

Chapter 21: chapter 21

In the blink of an eye, a week had passed.

During this week, Teacher Adore took everyone to the training hall for various exercises every day.

According to Teacher Adore, if a talent ability required a strong mental attribute to release—such as energy-based superpowers, including natural Devil Fruits—then one should train in the "mental cabin" to strengthen their spirit.

If a talent ability was more inclined toward strength or physical endurance, then training should take place in the "gravity room" to build up the body.

For speed-related talent abilities, training methods included sprinting, dodging obstacles, and even "whack-a-mole"-like games to improve reflexes.

Ben had tried all of these training halls once.

The others were manageable, but the mental cabin was simply not a place for humans.

It was designed with an intentionally distorted structure, and its walls were covered in eerie, suggestive patterns that could make one dizzy after just a few glances.

It was said that these patterns were recordings of symbols from the Spirit Realm, redrawn by humans to replicate their effects…

Staring at them for too long quickly drained a person's mental strength, causing dizziness and even a headache. Extended exposure could potentially cause permanent damage.

However, if used correctly and in moderation, the mental cabin was an effective training tool, far superior to the traditional method of simply exhausting one's energy reserves.

One had to admit—human ingenuity was truly remarkable.

It had only been a little over a hundred years since the Holy Land had appeared, and yet humanity had already developed so many specialized training devices, each tailored to different abilities and attributes.

Of course, these training methods were only useful for those with talent abilities.

For ordinary people, their potential and limitations were fixed—no matter how hard they trained, they could never become transcendents.

A New Phase of Training Begins

That morning, Ben went to class as usual.

When the class bell rang, Teacher Adore appeared on time.

"A week has passed. How is your teammate search going? Have you all formed groups?"

Most students raised their hands, signaling that they had found teammates.

However, about a third of the students still looked anxious.

Ben was among them, but he showed no signs of worry.

Teacher Adore seemed satisfied with the students' progress. He continued, "After forming your teams, your next phase of training should be done with your teammates. In addition to improving your attributes, you must also train your teamwork."

"When facing monsters in the Spirit Realm, cooperation can often lead to unexpected advantages!"

The students nodded in agreement.

After a week of classes, everyone had come to realize that while Teacher Adore looked strict, he was actually a warm-hearted and responsible instructor.

At that moment, a student raised his hand.

"Teacher, it's been a week, but we've only been taught training methods. Why haven't we learned anything about the Spirit Realm itself?"

Teacher Adore paused. "What aspect of the Spirit Realm do you want to know about?"

The student hesitated before saying, "I'd like to learn about the first layer of the Spirit Realm. What kind of monsters are there? What are their attack methods? Do they have any weaknesses?"

Teacher Adore shook his head. "I can't teach you that because the first layer of the Spirit Realm is the Amnesia Spirit Realm."

"Amnesia Spirit Realm?"

Many students gasped.

Some, however, remained calm—they clearly already knew about this.

Information about the Spirit Realm was strictly controlled by the authorities. Only university students could access strategies related to the Spirit Realm.

Artificial intelligence in this world was highly advanced. If anyone tried to share Spirit Realm information online, it would be detected, deleted immediately, and the authorities would take action.

Of course, sharing information privately with family members was possible—as long as no one reported it, the government wouldn't intervene.

Those calmer students likely had relatives who were transcendents.

Restricting Spirit Realm information was a method used to cultivate talent.

Once a student entered university, their performance in the Spirit Realm—including their achievements and progress—became fully transparent to the authorities.

If someone showed extraordinary potential, they would naturally be recruited.

"Don't be so shocked!" Teacher Adore said. "There are many Amnesia Spirit Realms in the Spirit Realm. In fact, even within the first ten layers, several of them are amnesia-type."

"The so-called Amnesia Spirit Realm means that after successfully returning, transcendents forget everything that happened inside… In other words, your memories of the first layer will be completely erased once you come back!"

The class was in an uproar.

A student stood up and asked, "Since memories get erased, why not write information down while inside? Maybe on paper, on clothes, or even engrave it into our skin—so we can bring it back?"

Teacher Adore chuckled. "That's a clever idea. But others have thought of it before. In fact, foreign researchers once conducted experiments where people went into the Spirit Realm and carved information directly onto their skin… but it was still useless!"

"Because in the Amnesia Spirit Realm, as long as you return alive, you will be exactly the same as when you entered. There will be no changes whatsoever!"

"Even if you engrave words on your skin or injure yourself, everything will be restored upon exiting. Even damaged clothes return to their original state!"

"The Spirit Realm isn't something you can outsmart so easily."

The students looked stunned.

Even Ben was surprised.

The Amnesia Spirit Realm was that powerful?

Wouldn't that make it the perfect place to go all out?

Even if someone saw what he did, they'd forget it after leaving!

A slow grin spread across Ben's face.

An Unfortunate Twist

"Oh, right!"

Teacher Adore suddenly recalled something. "While the Amnesia Spirit Realm erases memories, your kill records inside remain accessible. So, don't bother lying about your achievements to get into Class A. The system tracks everything."

Many students laughed at this.

Ben, however, felt his heart skip a beat.

What the hell?

The Spirit Realm actually recorded grades?

Where was the privacy?!

More importantly—he had planned to go all out in the Spirit Realm, killing as many enemies as possible to get the highest rewards and extra bonuses.

But now, if his kill count was suspiciously high, people would definitely start investigating him.

After all, with his "useless" talent, how could he possibly rank at the top?

It would only be a matter of time before someone suspected him.

Some individuals even had the ability to read minds—many of them had been recruited into the official special forces…

If those people took an interest in him, wouldn't his secret be completely exposed?

Ben hesitated.

Maybe he should hold back in the Spirit Realm—stay low-key, avoid drawing attention, and just survive until the end.

That way, no one would suspect anything.

It was definitely a safe strategy.

But…

Ben clenched his fists.

He wasn't willing to let go of the rewards he could easily claim!

The highest reward came with a huge amount of "spiritual energy points."

The extra rewards had the potential to grant top-tier items…

Giving all that up just to stay under the radar?

No way.

He had to find a way to maximize his gains while keeping his secret safe.

Ben's eyes narrowed.

If the Spirit Realm was going to challenge him, then he'd just have to play the game smarter.

A small smirk played on his lips.

Let's see who outsmarts who.
