Chapter 6: Distant Memories II
Damian's POV
The Next Day
"Are you sure this was a good idea?" I ask Dad, watching Zara playing around with her sword.
"Here, she won't be seen by others," he replies. "We can even find out if there are any abilities a Kryptonian can have."
I nod and look back at her. She looks happy to have found members of her family, but there's still a sadness lingering beneath her smile.
Superman's POV
"Wait, wait, wait. You have another cousin?" Flash says, pleasantly surprised. "Is she pretty?" he adds, stroking his chin.
Diana smacks him straight into a wall. "She lost her family, Flash, and chronologically she's way older than you," Diana says, exasperated.
"Well, technically she's still as old as she was thirty years ago," Flash retorts, rubbing his head.
"Enough of that," Green Lantern interrupts. "Is she okay now, Superman?"
I nod. "But she still isn't used to Earth."
Diana speaks up. "Her sister is Kara Zor-El, right?"
I nod again. "Well then, why don't you just get her over here? If Zara Zor-El sees her, she would be much more comfortable."
I had planned to call Kara about it later, but why not now? "Sure," I say as I text her to come over. "She'll be here in five."
"Great!" Diana says. "Can we meet Zara?"
"Sure, she's with Bruce right now," I respond.
Everyone then walks out to see her.
Zara's POV
I sheathe my sword. At least I'm still as agile as I was. I sigh and sit down on an incredibly comfortable piece of fabric. "Earthlings are really productive," I think, poking the fabric. Then, I glance over at Mr. Wayne, who is busy with some documents. He is very hardworking, just like my dad. The thought makes me feel sad again. I turn to Damian, who is staring at me intently. I smile at him, but he quickly looks away. I shrug.
Suddenly, a door opens. I see Kal-El and a few other people walk in. I'm about to unsheathe my sword when a woman walks up to me and says, "Hello, I am Diana. What is your name?"
I'm in awe of how beautiful she is, but something catches me off guard. "You are not human," I say, giving her a suspicious stare.
"That is one thing we have in common," Diana says, smiling.
That's enough for me to drop my guard. "I am Zara Zor-El."
Suddenly, someone else walks in. "Clark, what did you call me for?" Kara says, closing the door behind her. She looks at me. "Who is she?"
"Kara," I say, shocked. "You've grown so much."
"Do I know you?" Kara asks, eyeing me suspiciously.
"You don't remember me, sister?" I say, holding back my tears.
"Excuse me," I mutter as I leave the room. My own sister didn't even remember me.
