Chapter 810: Dark Bird Temple
"Where did this come from?" Lin Shen examined it closely and it was indeed identical to the Jade Decree Wei held in his hand, but it couldn't be the same one.
"It fell out of this book." Xiao Yu handed the book she held to Lin Shen.
Lin Shen took the book and looked at the cover first, which also had no title, but similarly, in the bottom right corner were the small characters "Tear Stain".
Turning over the pages of the book, he found that they were blank, and there was a slot carved out in the middle of the book that matched the shape of the Jade Decree, suggesting that the book was designed specifically to house this jade token.
"I remember the Jade Decree and the love letter were both found in the Dark Bird Temple. How comes there's another Jade Decree exactly like it here? Could it be that this 'Tear Stain' has also been to the Temple Star?" Lin Shen was somewhat puzzled.
The Temple Star was strange and mysterious, its affairs were unclear and incomprehensible to Lin Shen, and the things brought back from the Temple Star were equally strange.
The Sun-shooting Bow, Jade Decree, and the love letter could emit Divine Light and repel creatures like ghosts and gods while in the Temple Star.
Yet after leaving the Temple Star, these items seemed to become nothing more than ordinary, and aside from being rather durable and difficult to damage, they possessed no magical qualities.
Lin Shen wanted to use the Sun-shooting Bow against enemies but simply couldn't draw the bow, nor did he feel any power within the bow itself.
In theory, the Sun-shooting Bow should have been a transformation of the Immortal Life Base of the Sun Shooter General, one of the ten generals under the Ancient Realm King. Even if Lin Shen couldn't draw it, the bow itself should have some power overflow.
But away from the Temple Star, the bow truly seemed like scrap, utterly useless.
After examining it back and forth for a good while without discerning anything, Lin Shen placed the Jade Decree back into the book with the intention of putting the book back in its place.
This place was Tian Jiuyou's former residence; the things here must belong to Tian Jiuyou or his wife. If he really claimed these things as his own, Tian Jiuyou would have even more reason not to let him leave.
Moreover, he also didn't know what use this thing had; it was useless to take it.
Just as Lin Shen put the Jade Decree into the slot in the book, preparing to close it, Fei Zai crawled out of the backpack, snatched the Jade Decree out of the book.
"Fei Zai, what are you doing?" Lin Shen watched Fei Zai curiously.
Fei Zai didn't pay attention to him and, flapping his wings, dragged his plump body outside the wooden house.
With the Jade Decree held in his mouth, he threw it vigorously into the sky.
Lin Shen was suspicious. Fei Zai had seen the Jade Decree in Wei's hands long ago; if he was interested, he should have taken it then. Why was he suddenly interested in this Jade Decree now?
"Could it be… this Jade Decree is actually different from the one Wei had…" As Lin Shen was thinking, he saw the Jade Decree had already fallen to the ground.
The previously lusterless Jade Decree now emitted a dazzling light, and the inscriptions on it began to shine.
Lin Shen and Xiao Yu watched with wide eyes as the light from the Jade Decree gradually materialized, slowly forming a temple.
"What's going on here?" Lin Shen was stunned; the scene was like some kind of magical creation out of thin air.
"Dark Bird Temple!" Lin Shen saw the words appear above the temple after it had formed.
It was not surprising, considering the previous Jade Decree was from the Dark Bird Temple, and this one was very likely related to the Dark Bird Temple as well.
Only, he hadn't expected that this thing could conjure up a Dark Bird Temple out of thin air.
Fei Zai flapped his wings and flew into the Dark Bird Temple.
Curious, Lin Shen quickly followed him into the temple.

Inside there was no hanging Divine Statue, and atop the altar sat not a statue but a tablet inscribed with the words "Dark Bird."
Lin Shen saw familiar things on the divine altar; there were incense burners and sticks, which seemed much like the scenes inside the Chiyou Temple.
As Lin Shen was contemplating, Fei Zai swept his wing, and a stick of incense flew towards him, landing in Lin Shen's hand.
"Do you want me to offer incense?" Lin Shen understood Fei Zai's intent, so he lit the incense and placed it in the incense burner.
"There's interference from the Law of the Ice Lotus here; it shouldn't be possible to teleport away, right?" Lin Shen thought, yet as he looked into the curling smoke, he felt as if he were riding the clouds and mist, and the temple before him began to appear dreamlike and less real.
When Lin Shen regained the feeling of standing on solid ground again, although the temple was still the same, the scenery outside the temple had changed.
Lin Shen walked out and flew up to the sky to look around; Snow Valley had vanished. Outside lay a giant Hanging Island, which looked like a vast arena, surrounded by tiered stone steps, much like seating rows in a stadium.
"Welcome to Commerce Star, would you like to have a valuation done on your goods?" a voice suddenly sounded above the island.
"Who are you? Where is this place?" Lin Shen asked.
"I am the Spirit of Commerce Star, and this is Commerce Star. Here you may have your goods valued or engage in consignment trades." the voice replied.
"What goods?" Lin Shen had been through the trial on the Star of Arms, so he wasn't too surprised.
"Anything can be valued. The valuation is the purchase price of Commerce Star. If you are not satisfied with the valuation, you can choose not to sell or trade with others. Commerce Star supports bartering or trading with Commerce Star Coins..." the Spirit of Commerce Star explained.
"How do you value the goods?" Lin Shen asked.
"That depends on what your goods are." the voice of the Spirit of Commerce Star echoed over the Hanging Island.
"How about this sword?" Lin Shen asked.
As soon as Lin Shen's words fell, he saw the ground in front of him tremble and a platform rose up.
"Please place your goods on the platform," the Spirit of Commerce Star instructed.
Lin Shen glanced at Fei Zai, and seeing no reaction from him, he placed the Scrap Sword on the platform.
As soon as the Scrap Sword was placed on the platform, it immediately burst into a sparkling of colors, enveloping the sword in light.
The Scrap Sword floated in mid-air, seemingly scanned over and over.
After a while, the colorful light suddenly formed a screen-like projection in front of Lin Shen, and then some text appeared on it.
"One sword... Valued at eleven Commerce Star Coins... Blade Series product ranking commencing... Currently, this sword ranks first... Please name your sword..."
"Scrap Sword," Lin Shen was accustomed to it and said the name directly.
"Naming successful... Scrap Sword occupies first rank in the Blade Series product ranking... Valued at eleven Commerce Star Coins... Would you like to sell?" the Spirit of Commerce Star said.
