Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 372: Familiars (Bonus)

Nathan and Alavenya were standing only a meter apart.

"You better grind your teeth. At the very least, you're going to lose several teeth today." Alavenya snorted.

"Heh? Do you mean several ribs?" Nathan chuckled. "This is a problem. I am a gentleman who can't cut a woman."

Alavenya's eyebrows twitched. "You… If you keep thinking that way, then I will beat you until your parents can't recognize you anymore."

"I'm just saying I can't cut you. There's not a single cutting ability in my skill set, so of course I can't cut a woman." Nathan shrugged.

Alavenya just realized she had been played by his words. Her anger almost soared. "You…"

"Coming here to avenge your father, huh? Do you think you have the ability?" Nathan smirked.

"You should be concerned about your own life. I might not be able to stop myself from beating you to death." Alavenya gnashed her teeth.

"That's enough." Jason stopped them. "As you've agreed, you two will be fighting until one side surrenders or is knocked out. Anything that involves a life will be stopped by me."

"You may summon your familiars."

Alavenya took the initiative to scare Nathan as she released her Ena. Four figures suddenly appeared behind her, releasing their fighting and killing intents together. All of them were locked on Nathan.

"Whoa. What a greeting…" Nathan chuckled. His skin felt tingling after all that killing intent.

Nathan also summoned his four familiars. Fenrir hadn't used his Gigantification, so his size wasn't that big. Jinwu hadn't activated his battle form, so he was chilling on Nathan's shoulder.

Only Nidhogg looked menacing enough due to his size. Because of the increase of Ena, his body had grown larger, which was close to Fenrir's size after Gigantification.

The people squinted their eyes, examining those beasts.

"His beasts actually have the same amount of Ena."

"This is the first time I see a summoner summoning beasts instead of humanoid familiars." Your next journey awaits at empire

"Still, Alavenya's familiars have more Ena than them. It will definitely cause a big issue in this match."

"But it's surprising he can reach that level six months after his enrollment. This is already the level of the second year."

"Vice Principal Vivian might have supplemented all those cores, so it's not surprising. Even then, Ena alone is not enough to determine the battle. If his skill is inferior, he will definitely lose."

"Oh! This is the rumored unique summoner, Nathan. He has finally summoned his familiars. Principal. What do you think about this?" Filia commented.

"I have seen every beast except for that crow. I won't say anything regarding their abilities since it might give him a disadvantage. However, when I met them, their Ena was extremely low."

"Is that so? Does this mean Nathan has given all those cores to his familiars? But that low Ena is concerning since most of the time, the familiars who have low Ena in the beginning have a hard time advancing. Even though they have all the Ena, they don't have the abilities to utilize them.

"That's why most of the time, people only focus on a few familiars with high potential because they can learn new techniques easily. If Nathan doesn't have another card up his sleeve, he might very well lose this battle.

"Nevertheless, Nathan has a wolf, a jackal, a dragon, and a crow. Meanwhile, Alavenya has a lamia, a squirrel race, a butterfly, and a beetle."

Nathan squinted his eyes. The lamia's height reached as high as 5 meters (16 feet). It had the body of a woman and a snake tail. Its hair was made up of smaller snakes. It was wielding a menacing glaive with golden snake decoration.

To her left stood a small lady. She had the tail and the ears of a squirrel. Unlike any other familiars, her size and form had the most similarity to a human.

Flying behind her was a woman with purple skin. She had two antennae on her head and a pair of beautiful purple-colored skin, which gave her the feeling of night. However, her red eyes reflected her ability more than anything she possessed.

Last but not least, there was another woman. On her head was a huge horn similar to that of a rhinoceros beetle. Her hands were made of claws as several other legs appeared from her back to support her humanoid legs.

These were Alavenya's four familiars.

Nidhogg glared at the lamia, especially the snakes on her head.

The snakes twitched back as if they were sensing a threat. In fact, they could feel a suppression coming from Nidhogg.

"Should I switch with Fenrir and deal with that Lamia? The suppression is not strong because our bloodline is slightly too far, but I should have a lot of advantages against her." Nidhogg asked.

"Now that I think about it, you have been close to snakes and lizards in Niflheim, right? But if you take care of the Lamia, Fenrir will have a hard time with the butterfly since he can't fly." Nathan shook his head.

"Fair enough. Still, if only Ratatoskr were here. That squirrel will be crying." Nidhogg snorted.

"Hahaha." Nathan chuckled. After all, Ratatoskr in his mouth was the squirrel who carried the messages in the divine tree.

"Jormungand will have an easier time against the lamia than him. You should have replaced this stupid lizard with him." Fenrir snorted.

"Are you picking a fight right now? I don't mind beating you first before them."

"Hoh?" Fenrir squinted his eyes.

"To think you're so arrogant that you can talk so casually about defeating me? I will show you that defeating me is impossible." Alavenya glared at Nathan and his familiars due to their laid-back attitude.

"Laid back, huh? I have never underestimated my opponents, even if they look like a harmless ant. This is not arrogance, but confidence." Nathan smiled while glancing at Jason.

With both of them agreeing to the duel, he immediately raised his hand. "Begin!"

"Then, I will show you—" Alavenya waved her hand as she was about to order her familiars to charge forward.

However, Fenrir used his Gigantification right away, showing his real size. At the same time, Nathan nudged his shoulder as Jinwu soared into the sky. His body grew as the black fur turned golden, showing his true appearance.

Nathan was the one who finished her words. "—my confidence."
