Chapter 14

Chapter 14: The Treasures of the World Are All in My Pockets?

Seeing Chen Ansheng with a face full of worries, Li Zhengyang said, “Kid, if you really have nowhere to go, I can introduce you to a cave for cultivation.”

Chen Ansheng’s eyes lit up instantly. “Great! Brother Li, you’re not joking, are you?”

Joining a cave for cultivation is an incredibly difficult task!

Li Zhengyang continued, “Don’t get too happy too soon. An introduction is one thing; whether they accept you is another matter.”

Chen Ansheng nodded. Finally, someone was recommending him to join a cave, at least it was an opportunity.

Li Zhengyang took out a brush and ink from his storage bag and wrote a letter of introduction to hand to Chen Ansheng.

“Qian Yue Cave on Linghua Mountain, over eight thousand miles from here, is a cultivation cave of an old friend of mine. You can go there on your own.”

Chen Ansheng took the letter and asked, “Brother Li, aren’t you coming with me?”

Li Zhengyang waved his hand. “I have other matters to attend to, so I won’t be going.”

Chen Ansheng raised his cup, full of gratitude, and said, “Thank you so much for your help, Brother Li. I will definitely repay you in the future. I’ll drink to that; you do as you wish.”

“Repay my ass.” Li Zhengyang rolled his eyes at Chen Ansheng and then said, “If you really manage to gain some skills, I only have one request.”

“Brother Li, just say it. I will definitely do it if I can,” Chen Ansheng said with determination on his face.

“Get your employment wages back, with interest!” Li Zhengyang replied.

“Wages? Didn’t we settle that already?” Chen Ansheng asked in confusion.

“Nonsense, we signed a contract for a hundred years. The Wang Family forced you away, so your wages must be honored. That’s not unreasonable, right?” Li Zhengyang slapped the table.

“Absolutely, we must get it back!”

Chen Ansheng understood Li Zhengyang’s intention. The humiliation today would be repaid in the future. Wages didn’t matter that much; however, the interest was another story!

Seeing Chen Ansheng gritting his teeth, Li Zhengyang chuckled. “A man should have some blood in him. I despise those who whine.”

Chen Ansheng raised his cup and shouted, “Let’s not talk about this miserable business. Brother Li, let’s talk about matters down below.”

Li Zhengyang shot a sideways glance at Chen Ansheng. “You brat, what’s the point of just listening to dirty jokes? Why not go to Lingfeng Tower for some real action?”

Chen Ansheng flushed and replied, “You’ve misunderstood, Brother Li. I’m not that kind of person! By the way, the sword you used today was really impressive. Did you bring it from the lower realm?”

Mentioning his sword piqued Li Zhengyang’s interest, and he said proudly, “My sword is named Liyang. It was obtained from a forbidden zone of a certain abyss. Its power is extraordinary. Even during my peak as a Celestial Eight, I couldn’t fully control it to unleash its true power.”

“Oh?” Chen Ansheng exclaimed in surprise. “There are forbidden zones in the cultivation world too? And such powerful swords exist there?”

“Of course,” Li Zhengyang reminisced about the perilous encounters in various forbidden zones, feeling a bit nostalgic, “Not only are there forbidden zones, but even if I become ten or a hundred times stronger now, I still wouldn’t dare to step into some of those areas.”

“Why is that? How did the forbidden zones come to be in the cultivation world?”

Chen Ansheng was quite puzzled.

How could such terrifying forbidden zones exist in the cultivation world?

“Isn’t that obvious? The forbidden zones in the lower realm naturally originated from the upper realm!” Li Zhengyang said casually.

“What do you mean?” Chen Ansheng was even more confused.

“I’ll ask you, how long has the Celestial Realm existed?” Li Zhengyang questioned.

“How would anyone know? Probably even those Celestial Emperors are unclear about it. How could I possibly know?” Chen Ansheng shook his head.

“Exactly,” Li Zhengyang popped a dried fruit into his mouth and slowly continued, “The existence of the Celestial Realm spans such an incredibly long time that no one can imagine it. Throughout history, countless wars have erupted among the major powers and races of the Celestial Realm. These wars often shook the heavens, shattering the void.

“Think about it: where do the weapons and treasures that fall into spatial rifts go, even the corpses?”

“To the lower realm!” Chen Ansheng suddenly understood and blurted out.

“Right.” Li Zhengyang nodded, then said, “Although the vast majority of items that fall into spatial rifts are obliterated, the ancient battles are numerous, and a lot of things have fallen in. There are always some items of immense value that ultimately breach into unstable planes of space, and that is the origin of the forbidden zones.”

“So it seems that the forbidden zones of the cultivation world should not be underestimated. There might be treasures to be found there. Perhaps… even legendary imperial weapons could exist!” Chen Ansheng’s eyes sparkled with excitement.

“Theoretically, it’s possible, but practically, such things likely don’t exist,” Li Zhengyang shook his head and continued, “I’ve heard that those ancient imperial artifacts that fell to the lower realm long ago were collected by some young Celestial Emperors later on. Even the lesser ones have been taken by them as gifts to their descendants and relatives.

“The remaining items, if powerful practitioners from the lower realm don’t have the opportunity, are hard to come by. Celestial Realm experts cannot break the spatial barrier and retrieve them. Therefore, items like imperial artifacts are unlikely to exist, but things like true artifacts, mysterious artifacts, and heavenly artifacts might indeed exist.”

“I see.”

Chen Ansheng remained outwardly calm but felt overjoyed inside.

He possessed the Cross-Boundary Stone, which theoretically allowed him to enter any cultivation plane.

Currently, his realm was too low to dare to venture into most forbidden zones.

Once his realm was elevated, stepping into True Celestial or even higher levels, he was sure he could obtain countless treasures.

Why?

Just as Li Zhengyang mentioned, the natives of the cultivation world can only reach a maximum of Celestial Nine. Many forbidden zones are too dangerous for them to enter; if they go, they would die. Meanwhile, beings from the Celestial Realm, like True Celestials, Mysterious Celestials, or even Immortal Kings and Sovereigns, cannot cross boundaries and cannot access treasures left behind in the forbidden zones.

Considering that, Chen Ansheng suddenly felt that all the treasures of the world were within his grasp.

Of course, to obtain treasures, enhancing one’s realm and strength is key.

Without strength, everything is just empty talk.

“Brother Li’s introduction to the cave for cultivation is a golden opportunity. Otherwise, how long would I have to wait to save enough for cultivation?”

Chen Ansheng thought to himself.

In simpler terms, even if Chen Ansheng gathered materials from the lower realm to sell, it would take him a long time to save enough for a lower-level spiritual cave.

Moreover, a lower-level spiritual cave has thin celestial spiritual energy; practicing there for thousands or even tens of thousands of years may not even result in becoming a True Celestial.

Joining a cave for cultivation is entirely different.

A cave capable of creating a sect is at least a top-tier first-grade spiritual cave. The concentration of celestial spiritual energy is hundreds or even thousands of times that of the lowest ninth-grade spiritual cave, making the cultivation speed incomparable.

That’s why entering a celestial cave and becoming a disciple is so difficult.

The drinking lasted for seven or eight hours.

Chen Ansheng regarded this banquet as both a farewell and a new beginning.

As he was about to part ways, Li Zhengyang handed Chen Ansheng a piece of old red cloth. “Brother Chen, if the owner of Qian Yue Cave really refuses to accept you, just give this to her, and she will certainly not make things difficult for you.”

Such good fortune!

Chen Ansheng quickly took the red cloth but asked curiously, “Brother Li, if it’s not too inconvenient, may I ask who the owner of Qian Yue Cave is to you?”

Li Zhengyang hesitated for a moment but replied, “She was once my disciple in the Canglan Realm. Well, no more talking; I have urgent matters to attend to, so I must take my leave. May we meet again.”

After saying this, Li Zhengyang picked up a jug of wine and left in a carefree manner.

Chen Ansheng felt little sadness over the farewell, after all, they were both celestial beings, and at least they could live for five thousand years. As long as they had the heart, they would certainly meet again in the future.

“Brother Li’s disciple has actually become the master of a cave, impressive! Since I consider Brother Li a brother, that makes me the uncle of the owner of Qian Yue Cave. She has no reason to reject me. This time, it’s almost certain!”

Chen Ansheng was extremely excited; it was the first time he experienced the feeling of having a strong backing.

How wonderful!
