Chapter 1113: Tides Of Vengeance [Part 4]
Hecate snapped her fingers, shrinking Aplu's giant snake body into a small green snake, which she then placed inside a glass bottle for safekeeping.
The Progenitor of Magic glanced in Ethan's direction before shifting her gaze to Adad, who was currently being restricted by Leviathan.
A chuckle escaped Hecate's lips before she teleported to Leviathan's battlefield.
Before the battle started, Ethan had told Leviathan and Hecate that he wanted to fight Zabab in a one-on-one battle.
This was why the Progenitor of Magic chose to help Leviathan, leaving Ethan alone to have the fight that he wanted to have.
"They won't bother the two of us," Ethan said coldly. "So, come. Show me how strong you really are."
"Arrogant mortal!" Zabab lunged at Ethan with fury. "I'll make you regret facing me alone!"
"Tides," Ethan said softly as he summoned the Sea God's Trident.
The young man swung his trident to face Zabab's punch.
A powerful shockwave blasted at the point of impact, which sent Ethan flying backward.
Unaffected by the impact, Zabab charged in Ethan's direction, ready to slam his fist into his enemy's body.
"Slaughter," Ethan stated as he faced the Progenitor's incoming blow, empowering himself with the Slaughterer's Legacy.
However, just like what had happened earlier, Ethan was blown away by the impact of the strike.
But this time, he wasn't sent far and managed to regain his balance mid-air.
Thinking this was the right time to give the young man a killing blow, the dark flames in Zabab's right fist blazed even brighter.
"Wisdom," Ethan said, unfazed by the coming attack meant to end his life.
For the third time, the young man and the Progenitor clashed, and in the face of everyone, Ethan's body exploded and immediately turned into ashes, burnt by the dark flames.
Those who saw it were shocked. Ethan's lovers felt like their spirits had left their bodies.
But before they could despair, they heard the young man's voice echo on the battlefield.
"Desire." Ethan appeared dozens of meters away from Zabab, completely unharmed by his strike.
"Cheeky brat!" Zabab's entire body blazed fiercely as he transformed into a giant flaming meteor, shooting himself in Ethan's direction.
He had locked his senses on the young man and had confirmed that the other party wasn't a clone.
This was also the reason he went all out in order to finally eliminate the root cause of their downfall.
Ethan pulled back his arms as Areadbhair and the Sea God's Trident merged to become one weapon, transforming into a single-bladed spear that blazed with blue flames.
"Authority," Ethan declared.
His voice spread in the surroundings, creating a great pressure that made even the dimension around him crack, as if hit by something that could cut through different planes of existence.
Eight pairs of wings grew out of Ethan's back, all of them varying in colors, each one representing a different element from the world, including Demon, Fae, Light, and Darkness.
"Endless Horizon!"
Ethan said coldly as he thrust his spear forward, breaking through the dimensions that made up the countless hidden fabrics of the weave, breaking all the laws that governed the world.
Zabab initially had complete confidence he could kill Ethan with a single blow. But a feeling of dread suddenly washed over him as the young man charged in his direction with a spear thrust that seemed to pierce through the fabric of time and space.
Within a mere second, Zabab knew he had crossed the point of no return, so he no longer held back and unleashed all the power in his body and prepared himself to self-destruct.
Even if he were to die, he planned to take Ethan with him, so the young man could accompany him to the afterlife.
As the two powerhouses clashed, time seemed to come to a complete stop for a moment.
Ethan and Zabab stared at each other, giving their opponent one last look before time returned to normal.
An earth-shaking explosion erupted, annihilating anything within a two-mile radius.
A burning mushroom rose to the heavens, forcing the fortunate survivors to flee.
Unfortunately, they failed to escape unharmed.
The temperature had risen so drastically that those who managed to keep their life found themselves being burned alive by the aftermath.
The City of Atlantis hurriedly moved away, using its barrier to protect its people from the searing flames that seemed to devour everything in existence.
Leviathan and Hecate, who had already neutralized and imprisoned Adad, hurriedly cast their defensive abilities to protect Atlantis from further harm.
"Ethan!" Lily cried out as she looked at the hellish inferno that spread across the battlefield.
Baradiel momentarily took over Nicole's body and coated the city of Atlantis in a dome of ice that was several times harder than diamonds.
The armies of the Plague Faction on the ground all struggled to survive, but the sea of flames soon overtook them and burned them to ashes.
Those who managed to survive numbered only in the dozens, and even they would be forever scarred by the events that they witnessed that day.
Illumina gazed at the blazing inferno with a calm and steady gaze.
However, she was clenching her fist so hard that her nails had already dug into the palm of her hand deep enough, drawing blood.
Princess Ariel sighed and used her power to heal Illumina's wounds, fully knowing that the Prince of Atlantis couldn't have possibly survived that collision with the Progenitor of Slaughter and Ruin.
Ethan's other lovers wanted to believe that he was fine. But even they were finding it hard to keep believing that their lover was still alive.
When the hellish flames finally receded, Leviathan and Hecate noticed something in the distance.
A small golden sun that was two meters tall burned brightly where Ethan and Zabab had dealt their killing blow to each other.
Those who were in the City of Atlantis looked at this sun with bated breath, not knowing what to expect.
Seconds passed…
Minutes passed…
And finally, after an hour, the sun cracked like an egg, revealing a person within.
Lily covered her lips as tears blurred her vision.
Nicole, who was standing by her side, smiled faintly as she looked at the projection in front of them.
Cheers rang out from the city of Atlantis as a naked Ethan emerged from the blazing sun.
None of his clothes had survived the destruction that followed during his clash with Zabab.
Even the skin on his body had severe burns. However, his regeneration ability kicked in, allowing him to recover at a rapid pace.
Ethan then summoned some clothes which he pulled on as fast as he could before flying toward Atlantis, where his people were waiting for him.
Hidden from sight, the reinforcements of the Plague Faction had already arrived at the scene.
However, none of them dared to make a move because there was a being that had locked onto their location.
A giant Ouroboros hovered above the broken sky, acting as a deterrence that prevented other parties from assisting the Plague Faction.
They had already seen what Ouroboros could do, so the Allies of the Plague Faction found themselves stuck between a rock and a hard place.
"Scram!" the Ouroboros growled, casting suffocating pressure toward the spectators who had watched the battle from start to finish.
In the end, these Progenitors had no choice but to leave because they didn't want to offend the Primordial Beast that had the power of Eternity.
Once he was certain that the threats in their surroundings had left, Aion breathed a sigh of relief.
Actually, the Giant Ouroboros was simply the power of illusion, which was constantly spreading pulses of hallucination into its surroundings.
Ethan and Hecate, who both specialized in illusion magic, tricked everyone, making them think that the Ouroboros, who had appeared during the battle in Midgard, had also come to settle the score with the Plague Faction.
Fortunately, they were too intimidated by its presence to think that it was merely an illusion that was reinforced several times by Ethan and Hecate.
The young man, who had returned safely to Atlantis, allowed himself to be embraced by his lovers, who were all in tears because of him.
Aion understood his Master was currently busy and didn't bother to ask before he took over the authority of the world, adding it to the list of worlds under Ethan's rule.
The young man had awakened the power of a Conqueror, allowing him to take over worlds with his authority.
Since he and Aion were bound by a contract, this allowed the Ouroboros to take control of the defeated worlds and pass the authority over to Ethan, allowing the latter to become stronger.
Once Aion had finished passing the authority to Ethan, the young man hugged his lovers and gave an order to his subordinates.
"Let's go back to Midgard," Ethan ordered. "The place where we call home."
And with this, the Plague Faction disappeared from the Multiverse, allowing other opportunistic parties to devour the remaining worlds under their control.
However, Ethan didn't care about this, and simply allowed them to do as they pleased.
There was still one final battle that he had to fight when he got back, so he had no time to deal with the aftermath of the destruction that he had left behind.
Meanwhile, somewhere in the Lands of Saraqael…
Balthazar looked at the projection in front of him with a proud expression on his face.
Lleu and Catherine, who had been watching Ethan closely, held each other, feeling just as proud as the former Demon Lord.
Ashmedai chuckled and patted Vincent's shoulder. "When will you and your wife give birth to a son like Ethan? You already have two daughters, but you have no sons. Put your back into it, will you?"
Vincent pretended he hadn't heard anything and simply looked at his nephew with a faint smile on his face.
He didn't expect that the wandering soul that he met a year ago would become someone so impressive that it made him and his family feel proud to have him as one of their family members.
